Welcome to the []_[]

I see a lot of pointing to the 2011 and 2012 classes as proof Golden's evaluations didn't work out. But not a lot of discussion on the fact D$ is now saying Gadbois looks like a beast, or about how Gunter turned out, or that Figueroa has all the promise to be a dominant Sam. What about Owens from Georgia, a camp pickup, or D Jackson, who wasn't ranked when we first offered? What about Kaaya getting offered by us first? Or Rozier?

Stop being selective. Everyone hits and misses, even great talent evaluators like Butch had misses everywhere. The question is will Golden address the misses quickly and increase his hit ratio over time. I think the 2013 and 2014 classes show the vector is in the right direction.

Back to Gordinier. His highlight was solid. Kid has a great head on his shoulders. Was all over the field making plays on the ball. He fits into Golden's scheme perfectly, as he showed he can handle multiple assignments in different sets. He wasn't just offered by MSU. He was also offered by Duke and Northwestern. He definitely has it going on upstairs, and looks like a real leader on the field.

So the DC of a team with a wayyyy better D last year than any of the mighty $EC teams that half of you slurp wanted this kid yet he's a jag in some of your eyes? Narduzzi himself could fly here, tell you this kid is good and then punch you in the face and some of you mopes would still be mumbling about some local kid in between diabeetus gut and Cool Ranch snark as you lay on the floor looking like a bigger sissy than Tony Parker. Welcome to the U! Woooooooooo!

We all wanted Narduzzi if Golden bolted, yet when we get a guy he wants, people are disappointed just because where he is from?

Say what?

You guys better stop making sense...

Sorry to go against you guys but even though I like the pick up, I heard his offer from Michigan State was not even committable. Second this kid is a baller, but a big part of his game is how he is used, what scares me is AG hasn't proved anything and our DC is nothing close to Michigan State's DC where MSU would know how to use him. Also, this means he took someone's spot at DE or OLB. Congrats on committing, can't wait to see what the kid does this season.

Both Reshaun Scott and Eddie Johnson were good evaluations by Al.

Lol ok man. I see you've given in to the mediocrity. "He was also offered by Duke and Northwestern" Who gives a f. Duke and Northwestern ? Thats who you want our competition to be ? Mediocre. The point is instead of pointing out a few guys that "have the promise" ( which really means they still havent really done anything yet) we should be talking about how they're balling. What about Rozier ? He's done nothing so far, Kaaya and Owens was a good find, I still want to wait and see what D Jackson does before count him. 2014 class is not pointing in the right direction. The class is more than half full and its majority 3 stars.

Denzel Perryman (our best defensive player) - 3 star
Stephen Morris ( one of the top passers in UM history)- 3 star
Allen Hurns ( last years most consistent receiver) - 3 star
Dallas Crawford (probably our most versatile playmaker) - 3 star
Rayshawn Jenkins ( most consistent defensive back) - 3 star

Easy to say that our most consistent players were once 3 stars, stop b****ing over a kid that WANTS to be here. This guy shows more respect for The U than some of the top flight players in Sofl

the only problem with this premise of Mich St wanted him, therefore he's a stud is we don't have Narduzzi on our staff. He's made a career of fielding killer Ds with limited talent/3 star types. Fat Al and Dorito don't have the same track record

not only that, but are we even sure Narduzzi wanted him to begin with? Or are we just assuming that because his profile shows an MSU offer? Vincen Jackson and Travis Johnson don't approve of such assumptions.

People bashed the Mahoney pickup based off his offer list (and rightly so).

Can't have it both ways.

Since that bashing Mahoney has picked up an offer from Virginia Tech. I didn't think the bashing was valid then and it will likely get less and lees valid as this recruiting season continues.

Everyone knows you have to get the "can't miss" SFL kids with the stars to win. They would never come here feeling entitled and underachieve.

Their production did not add up to a National Championship, not even an ACC Championship, so why are you touting them ? I love them as players, respect them as players, and hope the best for them. But it's just not good enough, end of story.

A competent coach could have gotten something out of that class IMO

We also fielded a better defense then :noidea:

At least spell Scotts first name correctly if you're going to criticize him

He didn't criticize him at all. Learn to use an apostrophe to show possession.

No more 5 stars like Duke or Tracy Howard, please!

Golden is not Narduzzi. Dorito is not Narduzzi. So we can offer every player michigan state does, it doesn't mean they will turn into solid players under a coaching staff that has proven they can neither develop players nor put players in positions to succeed nor scheme their way out of a wet paper bag.

So yes Narduzzi wanted him and under Narduzzi the kid may have been a solid player. Under Golden and Dorito, not so much.

We're going to suck so bad under Al Golden. This is almost like a nightmare that I can't wake up from.

Welcome to the U kid.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just ttying to make a point to the pessimist that 3 stars do have upside. I would rather take a 3 star with a chip on his shoulder than a 5 star that doesn't want to be a Cane!
