We are a real program again

Arroyo was underused last season, although your point is taken.

Did Mallory play in Dawson’s offense or did he leave after the abysmal Mario year one? He wasn’t exactly an overwhelming offensive force, and yes, I am being a little sarcastic.
Mallory didn’t play for dawson. Dawson first year here in 2023 he didn’t use the TE at all. Arroyo only has 35 catches last year

Bro stop. We can always nit pick. Yes Dawson crapped the bed at the end. But a poorly coached team just doesn’t win that game. We didn’t win by fluke. We outplayed them because we are well coached. It’s all the little things that I don’t have time to type.
Dawson’s run game creativity has a been a topic of discussion on this board since he got here.

I didn’t think Mallory played for Dawson, but I wasn’t sure. Thank you.

Cam made the offense so great last year. I can’t really find a flaw with Arroyo only catching 35 passes. There were a lot of weapons on the last year’s offense.

I should rephrase my statement.

The tight end position is not a feature of Shannon Dawson’s offense. Unless somebody can show me numbers from his tenure at other programs prior to Miami.

Not with Shannon Dawson calling games like that. You need a reason top receivers don't sign on out of high school. It's starts and ends with how Shannon Dawson apparently chooses to call games like this. He's literally the only reason we didn't win by atleast 17. So boring and unimaginative his play calling was tonight. I get part of the reason is our young wr unit. But that doesn't excuse the constant diVes on first down, followed by some version of an intermediate route followed by off tackle to the right side over and over again. Once we ran out of our scripted plays for the first half he just called vanilla for the third and fourth qter. Don't wanna be a downer when we should be celebrating a big win. But putting our foot on they neck and snapping that **** is what top recruits wanna see. Not that mary Poppins **** we did keeping them in the game.
Idk I'd bet thats more Mario.... Along with all the condensed crap.

Like if we just ran 11 or 10 and made defense choose to load box or spread out to stop pass ... I want it 5 OLine against as light of boxes as possible and just trust them to win their blocks.

It’s ok to have some creativity in play design.
I don’t disagree with that. And I 100% would use that on the 4th down after the Bain INT instead of kicking the FG. Just more if you build your team and its identity around having a physical, people moving OL. I’m abusing that until someone consistently stops it.

We got conservative in the 2nd half, but we also had some bad breaks.

Brown slipped on 3rd & short, and a bogus holding call killed another drive.

We had the #1 offense in the country last year, and we scored 27 points against a top-tier defense and still left points on the field.

All the time against good teams.

ND was a team that was IN the national championship game last year, and is supposedly even more talented this year with the exception of having a green quarterback. Well coached teams like them don’t roll over and play dead when they are downa couple scores.
so alabama would have 5+ games a year where they blow leads? i don't remember that.

Bro, go back over the last 10-20 years and review matchups between top 10 teams and see how many times teams got up ahead and the other teams came back and tied them. You’re barking up the wrong tree, chief. I think you forgot that it was two top 10 teams playing today. But you know it’s a message board, whine all you want

Great win but I’m ****ed because it should have been beat down as I predicted!
Refs kept ND in it in late 3rd w bull**** call after call
Then Mario gets his butt cheeks tight
And made it close

One question
Why the F do we not run off tackle at all? Every run is right up the middle
How about a quick toss sweep and get on the edge? We have to have more than two running plays from the gun.

Overall happy to beat
Those **** again!!!!

Also, Beck was good and will get
Better imo!!!

Dawson is twice the OC Bobo is at UGA. But, Bobo had the good sense to use his TE in multiple schemes and positions. Just think when you have that kind of talent(Lofton) you should adjust your game to incorporate it. SMH, as to why he won’t.

Great win, shout-out Coach O who I met outside. When is Mario going to get him on the staff he loves the canes!

It looked and felt like a heavy weight fight. I thought Miami carried the momentum more often during the game. Notre Dame had a few sustained drives and I did think they got a few calls that helped them at critical times. Overall I'm thrilled with the win, but..

1. We still look confused way too often when making substitutions. Especially on Special teams. I don't understand how that is still a problem. Time out management isn't even worth discussing at this point.

2. I don't have an issue with running the ball as our mentality. I have an issue with running a variation of a halfback draw over and over again. I thought we'd at least go around the edge on a jet sweep as we motioned a man across often early on.

3. The biggest difference on our third/fourth down success rate in 25/26 will be that beck isn't a dual threat like cam was. We'll be seeing a much more conservative approach I think...

4. We lack a breakaway back. Pringle could be that guy but im beginning to wonder if its the system. Just doesn't seem to give our guys a chance to hit the hole and find space.

Thats all the negatives. Way more positives. We had an elite D. We have elite KR&PR guys for the first time in years and the offence is going to keep improving. Toney is the real deal and CJ replaces that Bama traitor easily. Beck will put up big numbers as he gets more confident and comfortable
