Urban to USC ?

Meyer's health conveniently turned after Tebow graduated from UF, and Meyer lost his money ticket. He had Cam Newton set up to replace Tebow but Cam was kicked out of school. How ironic is that?

Meyer's health conveniently turned once again, after the scandal at Ohio State.

His prescription is to take a year of rest and find an underachieving program with good roster and fertile recruiting base.

he basically cripples the school in scandals and bounces

Not really... tOSU is doing fine and while UF went through a low swing that should have been expected. He did give em two chips. Id take that in exchange for for a decade of meh.

i would take the ships too. miami wouldn't survive what went on at OSU and UF though. we already have the target on our backs

he already openly stated that hes interested if the job were to open up (cowboys). i think thats his next spot as well once garrett is fired
Damm that's hard to believe, not doubting you, it just dont seem like his cup o tea. Plus at Da Boy's he'd be Jerry's puppet, which I doubt he'd like. I think he'd be about like when Saban tried it with the Fins, his shtick wont work in the league imo. USC fits him way better, and the talent is all around him with not much competition he would sign everbody he wanted. I agree with others Its good for cfb when SC and Miami is good. I dont recall us ever playing them, anybody ?

I think urban kills it here and rebuilding the u would probably be an interesting challenge to him. would be he’s short term but would leave talent. Problem is he could care less about rules and disciplining players and the NCAA would be waiting to attack us

Dolla bills and a willingness to spend it after treading water for too many years. Wish we would get tired of treading water.

UM

Wish our alumni base wrote checks like USC's does. Both private schools, but Southern Cal has about 46K (20K undergrad, 26K post-grad) while Miami has 17K total (11K undergrad, 6K postgrad.)

Alumni write checks and Southern Cal's alum base has been financially supporting their football program since before Miami was even on the map. Money talks, bullsh1t walks.

All that to say, Meyer would be a fool to go to the Trojans. Dude has only succeeded at full-blown football factories. Ohio State was a better football job than USC is—and the Trojans have been in the NCAA's crosshairs, so he'd need to run it higher there than he did in Columbus or Gainesville.

USC's AD saying he's their top target doesn't mean anything—except that they "want" the most-available, top-flight coach in the game. Good for them.

Highly doubt Meyer runs back after a one-year hiatus. Would think the wife and kids are going to mandate he's out at least 2-3 seasons.

I could see ND making a run at him.

I could root for USC as a second team, they are the west coast Miami!
I wish that were true. From what I can see, USC is a monster compared to us. Bigger, more alumni, more money, older. We are fighting an uphill battle to get near the top again. We have so many hurdles, so many disadvantages.

Our fan base reminds me of politics. All or nothing lunacy mixed in with toxic tribalism.
My favorite was the post comparing our fans to monkeys throwing poo.

When I read that, I immediately thought of the House Democrats.

(I'm a registered Democrat but claim no connection to the current generation of Kooks on the Hill).

Yes. We beat them in '66 or '67.

OJ ran wild on us in the Coliseum in '68, I think.

Friend of mine played LB for us in '68. Said OJ was more nifty than fast, although OJ was said to have legitimate 9.5 100 yard dash time. (If anybody here is even familiar with 100 yard dash times).

Listening to ESPN U radio their talking about SC coming out saying they will do whatever is necessary to get UM. Wow they sure went public with that real quick, meaning SC, they eant everybody to know for some reason. The two dude's on radio say they hear that SC will probably get him. What will he cost ? That sure shows how commited they are to winning.
9 mm.
