Top Head Coach Candidates

Looking on the wiki page for Matt Campbell it says he’s turned down jobs working for urban myer at osu and working for the pats.
Im all in on this dude if this sht keeps falling apart

Had to be said earlier but Ryan Day? He would leave OSU for Miami. Maybe if he’s fired in 5 year...

Was gonna make separate thread but decided to just update my old one...

My top 2 HC candidates are still Josh Heupel & Mike Norvell, with Norvell being a little more out in front than Josh.

Mike is only making $2.6 mill with a $6.7 million dollar buyout & Heupel is making $2.3mill with a $4.8 million dollar buyout. Those are both very reasonable & doable buyouts for a program that isn't afraid to spend a lil money, that's actually super cheap for some very good coaches.

The point still stands, my reasoning for favoring the 2 of them last year was based on their high caliber offenses literally transforming teams. Both Norvell & Heupel are terrific college QB developers & had had multiple top 10 offenses during their tenures.

We would beat the teams we're heavily favored against because they would know how to utilize the talent we got, which would gives us some automatic W's & put us in a better position to win 10 games, which would make us more attractive to recruits. Would they beat the Clemson's or UF's of the world in year 1? Probably not. But you can bet money with Miami's talent they wouldn't be struggling vs CMU or 1-5 GTech teams & it wouldn't take them 3 years for them to turn the offense around.

Even know as it stands, Norvell has Brady White as top 20 passer in college football & has Kenny Gainwell as a top 10 rusher (Gainwell was a low rates 3-star coming out of HS) & that's following last year when he had Darrell Henderson as the #2 rusher in the nation. He's young (38) & a proven high level offensive guru (put together great Offenses at AZ St), he's 32-15 at Memphis & is set to have them with another 10 win season this year. He would do great here IMO & we're making a mistake not taking the chance to get him before he ends up at another P5 program.

Same with Heupel, he's an elite QB developer at the college level with QB's like Sam Bradford, Landry Jones, Trevor Knight, Drew Lock & McKenzie Milton on his resume, and even now currently has QB Dillion Gabriel as a top 12 passer in the nation as a True Freshman.

I like both & would like to see us get one of them before they both end up getting snatched up by a FSU or USC, or some other program that will spend the small amount to get them.

I know many of you want Mario Cristobal or Urban Meyer, neither of those are even realistic options IMO, Mario will 100% be getting an extension/pay raise in Oregon & has no real reason to leave Oregon to come to Miami. He has better financial support & much easier conference to win, plus the pick of the litter in West coast recruiting with USC & Washington both being down & on the decline. And Urby was making over $7mill at Oh St before he retired, in order for him to come out of retirement you're going to have to pay him Dabo/Saban money which is upwards of $9.5mill a year... Yall know **** well Miami ain't doing that.

I KNOW DIAZ IS NOT GETTING FIRED THIS YEAR. That's not the point of this post.
Just curious LCE, what makes you think we cant fire Manny after this year? (assuming we continue to lose games)

I’m skeptical of both Novell and Heupel. How much of their success was laid as a foundation by Fuente and Frost? Both of whom are failing at VT and NU.

Jay Gruden!

He failed in Washington, but Carroll flunked the NFL test twice before his great run at USC.

Or maybe he’d be the next Jim Mora Jr.

It's not that I believe we can't, it's just that with Blake James in charge it's a guarantee he won't.

Blake James hired Diaz that's his guy, as long as he's calling the shots Diaz will not be fired, especially in year 1.

My hope is that the contingency within the BOT that actually does care about football & is willing to spend money finally has enough of Blake's bull**** & gets rid of him, then we'll see a coaching change happen sooner than later.

If Blake really did the Diaz hire on his own (like some here say), then Blake's goose is cooked... I just find it incredibly hard to believe he didnt have BoT backing.

He was ****ed because Jose Mas had worked out a deal with the BOT on board. Flake made a move to hire this clown before Mario's agent was going to be contacted by him directly. Blake needs to be fired.

Do you happen to be RELATED to Diaz, by blood. Your sir name is Cubano? YeS. Just wondering. And is Mr. Joey More a Hurricane INSIDER of the Orange and Green sort? Again, just being Feliz the Curious Kat. huh.

Babers sucks don’t know about the others but I know for sho babers sucks

Yeah. U may have point there dude. Again, what has he done since that surprising victory over Good Ol' Boy Dabo's squad? Absolutely nothing.

He!!, according to most ACC football pundits, Syracuse was going to play second fiddle to Clemson this season. Yikes. Akin to Miami being second saxophone in the lame weak Coastal Division.

No sir, I personally past on Coach Baber's. Just give me a Norvell or some head coach with upcoming promise and all that.
