Todd Stroud?

100% false.

Elijah Roberts said out his own mouth that Stroud was why he stayed committed to Miami. Same with Quentin Williams.

Go look up their interviews with Stefan, they both credited Stroud with being a huge factor in their commitments.

You're flat out wrong.
Both of them are big Miami fans and there parents are die hard. So your telling me the only reason they stayed committed to Miami was because of Stroud?

Smh where tf did this come. Why ppl hating on stroud?..he recruits well and is a about to produce a 1st round former s/wr in HS on the dline..we win he will no doubt produc us will him young monsters up front

He did little to land Chantz and and Elijah let's be real.... Our Run Defense sure didn't seem drastically improved. Roche also wasn't coming just to play for Stroud. Roche came because king was coming and was going to Virginia Tech if King went elsewhere.
You are unequivocally wrong.

Do your research, BOTH OF THEM SPECIFICALLY SAID THAT STROUD RECRUITING THEM IS WHY THEY COMMITTED.

You make a lot of stupid threads based on dumb opinions, and that's fine because that's what a lot of this board is about. But in this case you're literally saying shìt that can be disproven.

You're entitled to not like Stroud for whatever reason you see fit, but stop saying he didn't recruit or had nothing to do with landing Chantz, Roberts or QWilliams, because it's simply incorrect bruh.

Make your case against Stroud using another argument point.

Dude you are reaching big time with this thread. Literally 100% of the responses disagree with you. That should be tell you something.

Just take your L and move on.

Show me where Roberts said the reason he stayed committed because of Stroud? I remember him saying that about Simpson not Stroud
Quote from Chantz Williams in interview with Stefan July 2, 2019 -

"initially dropped my top three with intentions to commit to one of those three,” Williams said. “But Miami kept recruiting me, and I felt I personally didn’t give the new staff a chance. I built a relationship with coach (Todd) Stroud, he built a relationship with my mom, and I just couldn’t not give them a fighting chance. Miami has been reaching for me since I was a freshman, they were the first to see my true potential. So, I felt to not give them a chance, that would be wrong.”

Even after he eliminated the Canes, Williams said the Miami staff just pressed him harder to come to UM.

“They kept coming after me, if anything coach Stroud started recruiting me harder,” Williams said. “I love them for that, respect them.”

In fact, coach Stroud wished him luck for the Opening and let Williams know he’d be watching him.

“My relationship with coach Stroud, it’s great. He’s been telling me I better not lose a rep out here, that he’s going to mess me up if I do,” Williams said. “Man, I know somehow he saw all my 1-on-1’s. I’m praying he didn’t see that one rep against Myles.”

Quote from Quentin Williams - May 2019 UM visit

"it was great,” Williams said. “I talked to coach (Todd) Stroud for a while and coach (Blake) Baker. Got to check out the city and the campus was nice. I loved it.”

Both DC Baker and DL coach Stroud have been pitching the 6-3, 230 pound prospect on his fit in the Miami defense and see him as a pass-rushing force.

“They like my versatility,” Williams said of Miami. “I can stand up or get in a 3-point. They like my ability to get to the QB.”

Quote from Elijah Roberts when he recommitted to Miami in July 2019 -

“It felt right, feels like I made the best decision,” Roberts said. “The coaches were excited to find out I was recommitting.”

The 6-3 265 pounder committed at Miami’s annual Paradise Camp event last Friday surrounded by his family and Roberts talked with some close to him beforehand about possibly committing on the visit. What was it about the atmosphere at Paradise that made him feel comfortable pulling the trigger for the Canes again?

“Just being around the coaches and the players, current and future,” Roberts said. “It felt right.”

During the actual competition portion of Paradise on Saturday, Roberts felt that UM stepped up it’s game in throwing such an amazing event, something he’s attended multiple times now.

“It was more exciting and fun than last year, and I feel like I did great at camp,” Roberts said. “I loved meeting Michael Irvin.”

Speaking with Roberts’ mother at Paradise Camp, the family was worried when former DL coach Jess Simpson left in March, as the family had built a strong connection with him. But new DL coach Todd Stroud has eased all her concerns and was a key reason for the commitment. Roberts agreed with that sentiment and says Stroud made him feel wanted at Miami.

“He’s been a huge impact,” Roberts said of Stroud. “We speak every day and he’s made me a priority.”

The original reason for Elijah’s decommitment was because he felt he committed too early and wanted to see other schools to be 100% sure of his decision; Roberts and his family felt it would be disrespectful to the Miami coaching staff to take other visits while committed to Miami.

Now that he’s taken visits to Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina and others, Roberts is content that he’s seen all he needed to see and has shut his recruitment down from here on out. He has cancelled planned visits to UF and FSU in late July after the dead period ends.

The only question now is if Roberts will play on the outside or the inside of the defensive line at Miami. According to Roberts, the Canes see him being able to play both, and would have packages where he moves inside at times.

“Coach Stroud said I can play off the edge for him,” Roberts said. “I would prefer defensive end in college, but I’ll play whatever they ask for me to play.”

Any clue on why Manny hasn't replaced him? He's not a very good recruiter and was originally supposed to be the chief of staff. I think our D-Line Coaching job could attract some real high level coaches. Should we just settle with Stroud?

He seems to be struggling with the 2021 D-Line class. A lot of the top D-Line in South Florida are going elsewhere. Do you think winning will fix that? Can Stroud go and Recruit head to head with the big dogs and come out with a elite recruit? That's the point I'm bringing up. We could land a stud Coach/Recruiter for the D-Line job. Should we just settle with Stroud?

1. You're moving the goalposts after being proven to be wrong.
2. It's March of 2020 and early signing day is in December. We have an entire spring, summer and the season starts in the fall. Relax, take a break from this if you're making judgments on our recruiting class before we've even finished Spring Practice. Compare last year's class at this point to what ended up signing here. You're wasting your breath.
