This isnt a TVD issue.

Look at Herndon Hooker’s stats at VA Tech, then look at how he’s played at Tennessee.

Same QB, so what’s the difference?

You guys really like to over complicate this stuff, there’s a direct correlation to the change in system to the rise/drop in production with dozens of QB’s.

But yall are right, lets just throw TVD away because he suddenly can’t throw a Football or read the field.

I wonder what would happen if TVD played in Josh Heupel or Tyson Helton, or Kalen DeBoer, or Zach Kittley’s system?

I’m sure he would still be struggling as much as he is now lol
Its not just the offensive scheme, TVD isnt even throwing spirals anymore. The ball is coming out like a wounded duck sometimes, and with no velocity. His mechanics are horrible. How can our qb coach not see this and correct it?

Michigan last year threw the ball for more than 30 times 3 times last year, one of those being the blowout loss to UGA.

Its exactly what Mario wants in an offense. He wants to run it and be physical at the LOS and use the pass to set up the run. 28 pass attempts to 41 runs per game.

Miami is at 36 passing attempts to 41 rushes a game. That's also skewed by the 51 and 41 attempts from the last two games. I'd expect that pass attempt average to go down as they play out the rest of the season.

This is who we are under Mario for the future.

Someone point me to the QB that has looked good under Gattis?

Anybody?

Bueller?

...

No, of course it isn't ONLY a problem with the QB. There is so much blame that needs to be shared between the team and the coaching, I hardly know where to start. But the fact remains that Van Dyke has been raw sewage this year and only shows brief moments of competence. It's embarrassing. Frankly, as Miami fans we should be more or less inured to this, given the uninterrupted atrocious QB play we have seen ever since Fancy departed. But still....we want to believe.

To expose Gattis?

I first said I would make the change and then I thought about it and it would pretty much end TVDs tenure here and the decision is harder than everyone thinks it is.

It would be Mario being hard headed as he’s been in the past and thus it’s his way or the high way. Mario might never recover reputation wise.

Changes need to happen over the bye week on the offense. Let’s see what happens.
Garcia will portal out after the year if TVD remains the starter. Only reason he still here is it was assumed TVD going pro after this year. That obviously ain't happening now. So basically ending TVD tenure should not be a consideration because by not making the move, Garcia tenure here is over. Whoever gives us the best chance to win should play

You will see when Garcia struggles against UNC and people start calling for Brown. TVD hasn't been perfect for sure, but drops and scheme have killed him.

This is a blueprint problem. Miami should be an Air Raid or Spread team. We are going backwards with Gattis' O. He's flat out broken TVD (one of the top prospects going into the year) and he'll break Garcia too. If I were Mario I'd "move him to the sidelines, to be closer to the players" and have Ponce up in the booth trying to create a passing game. Lord knows the WR coRch should be let go.

We have a coaching staff that thinks they can out Georgia people. They can't even out Georgia MTSU, they will not out Georgia UNC. We need to play a brand of football that maximizes our SoFL advantages, and build from that.
Damnit mane guys wide open 15 feet in front of him GD what does he want

You think Garcia can be effective in this offense? Or you want Garcia to start as so theres enough Gattis on tape for a decision to be made at the end of the season to can him?
Can him?!? He deserves a raise & an extension.

He’s a Broyles award winner bro... Broyles.

It’s not his fault that TVD sucks, look at all the great QB’s & Offenses he’s developed before he got to Miami.

That did answer the question. You could visibly tell that one dude took the time to build a connection and learn this Offense and the other intentionally told ESPN that he didn‘t.

If you know your O and have relationships with your WRs then it leads to rhythm and confidence in what you’re doing. Name one play that TVD looked like he had confidence and played with rhythm.
lol talk about manipulating the conversation. You're saying that TVD didn't throw with the WR? Stop it.

Garcia and the kids from MNW and others from his class have been boys since they recruited him. that's not a secret and likely plays into this.
