This is sneaky great Transfer Portal Class

I’m still trying to figure out how this is hilariously short sided when it’s entirely factual.

We did fantastic work on paper to flip the secondary, and a ton of positions on this team have talent, but are unproven. What’s incorrect about that?

Do we not have question marks at WR, LB and DT?
U can say that about every team, sometimes it’s the next man up, which is what CFB is all about. The transfer portal as made some of yall think u lose a 1,000 yd WR then u need to replace him with another veteran 1,000 yd WR, which is possible now with the transfer portal but it’s not the end of the world if u don’t, sometimes next man up is the best answer. Yall forget Restrepo and George were products of next man up. Before Restrepo had his 1000 yd year he had 240 yds the year prior.

It was a good haul, but that misses the key point. The portal should be used to fill holes, and two glaring ones remain—DT, WR1. For the kind of resources UM is pouring into program, staff, roster, it’s disappointing that holes remain that could easily thwart an otherwise playoff-worthy roster. IMO, greater attention to Plan B and C is needed. We're left to hope and pray that losing the two Horton doesn’t come back to burn us.
I agree with you regarding DT but I believe CJ Daniels will replace Horton and put up great numbers in this system.

Couldn’t have taken every player in the portal in the spring and ended up better than Clemson. They have 5-6 1st rounders coming in the 2026 draft.

Maybe we have more depth but they have as much or more top of the line old/experienced talent than anyone in the country.
Clemson will be good, but we have enough to handle them. Their Oline struggled so it’s issues there, and they struggled on defense against the run. Thier pass defense was very good though, but they lost a few players there.

I know they have a projected 1st rounder at OT and then a former high 4 or 5 star at the other tackle spot (he has struggled at times I remember seeing)

No idea about the rest of their line. That’s likely the way to beat them.

Then their RB room is a 190 pound true freshman (absolute burner though) and a Jr with like 300 career yards. An injury or the freshman not being ready could really hurt them.

Can’t fault the portal activity. We did well considering what was available.

The problem is we are still relying too heavily on the portal heading into Mario’s Year 4. 19 kids is a lot.

Gotta continue stacking high school chips. This 2026 class is critical for Mario.

I also have no clue what they’ve got at RB to replace Mafah either.

The kid they signed from VA this year will be given every chance to have a role this year. Should be getting 100+ carries for them and similar playstyle to how Lyle is.

Saw that after I posted. 2nd string is a junior legacy kid with 300 career yards. They have no choice but for that freshman to win it

They’re confident it was a DC problem and not personnel on defense.

Depth behind that front line talent is the question mark raised by the people close to their program. I also have no clue what they’ve got at RB to replace Mafah either. Maybe their run game is the down fall for them, but that’s the best starting WR group in the country. Can we out-physical them on both sides of the ball? Maybe. I’ll have to see us generate pressure consistently and I don’t know that Bain/Mesidor can do it. Good players but they’re not pass rush specialists. Gonna take Lightfoot/Lowe taking a huge jump.
Bain pretty much did what he wanted against THEM,. Pass rush at one point they were sending 2 and he was still beating them. So unless he is injured we can expect the same type of game from him against them. Blake Miller and Tristian Leigh got alot of starts but i dont think getting pressure against them would be a problem if it wasnt when he was a freshman.

They moved a wr to rb so you have that. Hes a Lofton type at rb so maybe the Mafah replacement. It must gonna be rb by committee because there isnt a breakout rb there i see.

Their offense still should be good witht he wr core..and if Klubnik could be avg throwing the ball and we know he can run.

Their defense should be good as usual.

They are the best team in acc but beatable.

its the same tackles that sh*t their pants against Bain when we played em. Likely got better though with a ton of starts.

They have an OLD ol but Matt Luke is a good ol coach. So i expect that unit to be a strength but i think our dl cna still do work if need be.

This portal class is fixing the 2021/2022 class and DB recruiting. I agree that the 26 class is critical as I believe that with a strong class Miami will not need to be as heavy in the portal in the future.

Before the portal class Miami only had 10 active SR’s on this roster.

Offensive SR’s
*OL Ryan Rodriguez class of 2021
*OL Markel Bell class of 2022
*OL Anez Cooper class of 2022
*OL Matthew McCoy class of 2022

Defensive SR’s
*DE Akheem Mesidor class of 2019
*DT Ahmad Moten class of 2022
*LB Wesley Bissainthe class of 2022
*LB Jaylin Alderman class of 2021
*LB Chase Smith class of 2021
*S Markeith Williams class of 2022

* CB Jadais Richard class of 2022, but is out for the year, so I am not counting him*

Of the 19 portal commits 15 of them are SR’s. This team desperately needed experience and leadership to support the young talent and I believe this portal class delivered on that at every position.

Yes I said it, this is an A class and you can argue with your moma if you don’t like it. This is the #3 rated class for a reason. This class address all three phases of the game in a major way. With experienced veterans in positions at WR to raise the floor and support the talented youth at that positions. While adding young talent with multiple years of eligibility to combat the years of poor recruiting at DB. This class also address the lack of explosive playmaker ability in the return game by adding 2024 All-American kick returner Keelan Marion and 2023 2nd team All-SEC punt returner Keionte Scott. While also bolstering the playable depth at every position on this team with the exception of DT. If this staff can somehow add another DT this will be an A+ class. There is a lot of talent in this group now it’s up to these coaches to unlock it.

I agree with You , three position Addition
That Made this Team Better Tuning Potential Weakness to Potental strength
1- The Linebacker Room / Got two an Inside & Outside who can both be Starters
Toure in particular knowns Heatherman Defense & Can Lead. Bonner Brings Heat to LB to Wesley ,Popo ,Pruitt to bring their best or get passed.
2- The Marty Brown Rb make running the ball a weapon with Physicality & Depth.
With Scat Backs Pringle & Hellcats as fastballs for tired defenses in the second half.
If Marty Brown wasn’t brought we would be Concern with the amount of Fletcher & Lyle get before Carries having to insert Elijah Lofton.
Lofton now is a Luxuary Chess ♟️ Peice to run Judiciously in big Games.
3- The Recevier Johnson, CJ Daniels & Marion would help a Lot doing their Roles.
*Johnson Steady dependable Slot
*CJ Johnson Contested Catches / Leading the Team in Catches.
*Keeland Marion - The Big Play - Deep Threat/ End Around/ Jet Sweep.

The sum of all Three Especially if Marion provides a legit Deep Threat.
Make it a Better Reciever Room than Before.
