Yes I said it, this is an A class and you can argue with your moma if you don’t like it. This is the #3 rated class for a reason. This class address all three phases of the game in a major way. With experienced veterans in positions at WR to raise the floor and support the talented youth at that positions. While adding young talent with multiple years of eligibility to combat the years of poor recruiting at DB. This class also address the lack of explosive playmaker ability in the return game by adding 2024 All-American kick returner Keelan Marion and 2023 2nd team All-SEC punt returner Keionte Scott. While also bolstering the playable depth at every position on this team with the exception of DT. If this staff can somehow add another DT this will be an A+ class. There is a lot of talent in this group now it’s up to these coaches to unlock it.

Our team is better vs last year, because our defense will make a far bigger jump upwards vs our offense regressing.

Only concern for me is LBers. I'm getting the feeling that Hetherman precisely looked for a LB who can communicate his defense. It's simplified in regards to coverage for the back end, but the LBers have to read and attack their keys in split seconds. We're going to play some weird fronts and blitz a lot, even with D-Linemen dropping back into coverage.

Totally agree with this post. I know people want an experienced DT but it was slim pickens for 3/4 DTs.

Staff is **** bent on playing Scott, Moten and Blay. Wasn’t going to sacrifice or overpay for a DT. Hethermen will be more exotic.
I actually believe Artavius Jones is good enough to be a quality 4th DT. The issue is after him is only Simpson and Russell on the roster. D Lewis will have to earn his check and get those young guys ready quickly.

Not talked about AT ALL is the addition of Lewis. Really not sure how he’ll impact the DT room but he sure knows what it should look like.

unimpressed michael keaton GIF

we have highly rated young DT's that need to play (plus Bain can slide in) and any additional dt we got was going to be DT #5 or 6 probably and WR's ALWAYS produce in Dawson's system

I really don't understand the *****ing trying to make those positions sound weaker than they really are

it's like people don't understand high school recruiting still happens and for a good reason

Improved greatly at CB.
Improved a lot at S.
LB is a net neutral.
Less proven talent at DE.
Less proven talent at DT.

OL is a net neutral, but they'll be better.
RB is less talented.
QB is less talented.
WR has less proven talent & production.
TE is less talented.

Major step back at K.

Great write up with stats and production. The best part of this class to me, read it from another article as well, is that we raised the floor of each position room. We don’t have to hit 100 on each, but having an 80 come off the bench to give a breather is what separates the good teams (which we were last year) from the CFP teams. Having a RSR being the backup to or pushing a a SO as a breather or Special teams is what raises the floor.

We're now good enough that we have NO EXCUSES not to win our regular ACC schedule outright. And we're lucky to get ND on game 1 when they're breaking in a brand new QB. We should win 10+ games again. But I'm not sure we're good enough to hold up against a Clemson firing on all cylinders or the playoff teams. Need to see a lot of young kids emerge for that to happen.

this is hilariously short sided and not accurate in the slightest. at least pre-cursor it with a "in my opinion"

I think it's a very good Portal class. To be "great" as OP states, we would have to get a legitimate stud WR and another DT. If we stay relatively healthy (especially Beck), we should be really good.
