From my OP back in July, sir:

This really is going to be an elite, elite class when the ink dries. Again, I thought we had zero shot at a Top 5 class in January. And this is coming from the most optimistic dude on the planet when it comes to Mario and his ability to recruit. Here we are 6 months later, and I'll be SHOCKED if we land with less than 300. What this man has done (and those around him deserve a lot of credit as well) in 6 months is honestly hard to even comprehend

This class has already exceeded my expectations and there is still time left. I see some debate about how well rounded the class is so I thought I'd share some info about position averages and totals to add to the discussion. Data gathered from 247.

Mario rolls in silence. I'm sure he'll surprise us with more HS commits, AND he will also use the portal to address any needs for the team.

With that said, this is a deep and talented class.

As has been said, adding more DBs, WRs, and HBs would be the icing on the cake.

Sure based on prospects you like Bain more than Wilson? Remember, Yearby starter and ran for more yards than Cook…. Still am happy and say we are lucky to have a talent like Bain a Cane though.
Well if Yearby had had 3.5 times more yards than Cook on about the same number of carries then I’d say yes. Yes I’m happy with Bain, but he’s proven it against good teams. Lots of players go silent against IMG etc cause IMG is so much better than others. He had 3 sacks.

Its gonna take another 5* to break 300. They could add both Brown brothers, Fletcher, Cohen and Thornton along with someone ranked near Hussey (I know he's not coming) and they'd still be a couple points short.

lol and I'm all for it! Bring us another 5* and break 300!
Theres other guys still possible you didn’t mention. The last couple weeks I started realizing this was more possible than I thought. It’ll be close.

The guys you're alluding to, would they mostly be guys flipping to us?

Doesn't seem like there are that many uncommitted that would move the needle to get us to 300

The other piece is the body types Mario is bringing in compared to previous years

Multiple DE ABOVE 6’5 245
Multiple LB ABOVE 6’2 215
Multiple OL ABOVE 6’5 315
Multiple TE ABOVE 6’5 230
Multiple ATH with elite level speed and shiftiness

If we can find:

RB with size
WR who can make contested catches
DT who can add an athletic body
S who can bring awareness and tackling
CB to build depth

You can’t ask for anything else other than a premier QB
