The Banner is a stupid idea and other thoughts

Charles Gaines came to OUR side of the field during warmups to talk ****. We took it in the *** from these guys for 4 quarters AGAIN and people aren't convinced. This isn't Miami Hurricanes football. There needs to be more ANGER.

I can't see the banner being a bad thing. If it embarrasses the people that matter then good. They need to know the fans are the ones making them millions. And that we aren't happy being a garbage team.

Stanford is a better university and still manages to care about football. If they can then why can't we. Winning brings more fans to games and makes the university more money.

It embarrasses the team and parents too. It is the first game, and will make the whole program look more like a circus opening the door further for negative recruiting and decommits.

Or we let the season play out and the decision will be clear.

I think the parents are already embarrassed. Look at dukes mom.

A mom frustrated after a miserable loss? Oh my.

Different than having to answer questions about a banner.

You want recruits parents asking current parents about a banner?
She said she was ****ed about a lot of stuff.

You think a banner will hurt recruiting more then playing like pussies on the field

Ask the gators how 4-8 recruiting goes. That banner will be all those recruiters need to bring up if the staff is retained. I cant imagine the banner workibg in our favor cant tell anyone what to do but ill say this that banner goes up and al and co. stay put going to be kibda hard to take us serious. Lets not punish ourselves lets not damage our U any further i mean it was the first game and im not saying its going to turn around or that al could make a change im just saying its week 1.

You know what affects the football program? Losses, poor on field performances, empty stadiums, poor facilities, poor coaching, etc. Message boards and banners don't affect us nearly as bad as some of you portray it to. I just don't buy it.

Golden went all in on "continuity" with his coaches, then he should go down with them. The University had an opportunity to force his hand and they did nothing. The school and Golden deserve everything they have coming to them.

The University needs to know you can have players that are good citizens, graduate....but still don't let people punk them on the field. Our players need a 'stand your ground' policy. Don't start fights, but, when some dude like the punter *****slaps you, you retaliate. When the opposing coach leaves his QB in unnecessarily to try and post records against you, you hit him late and take the flag.

Being *****-made is which 'core pillar', do you suppose?

yawning if we keep loosing and keep the staff they will not come anyways

People are scared about flying a "fire golden" banner over the stadium hours before a game against Florida A&M. You guys are the Al Golden's of canes message boards, huge timid vaginas.

The banner is not a bad idea for the reasons DMoney said; it's a bad use of funds.......****, if we had just saved on banner money and pooled it from the mid 90's till now we could afford Saban!

Banners flying every week will do less damage than sitting back, doing nothing and hoping the admin gets a clue. That is what is wrong with people in this country. Scared to stand up for what they want and so willing to take it up the ***. Thinking change comes on it's own.

These players, alums, boosters, and fans all deserve a better product then what's being given to us by Golden.

If anyone still wants to support the banner/billboard idea, matriculate on over to www.westendzone.com for more info.

It really ****es me off that this site will support anything pro-Golden.

As soon as something anti-Golden comes up, it's locked and or deleted
.

Literally the only things that have been deleted are banner threads. Everything else has stayed. **** near every thread is anti-Golden. ****, Lucane has been posting his heavy concerns of Golden and staff for a while now.

The **** athletic department hasn't even given us press passes

Why delete them? What CiS rules were broken?

Anyone who doesn't think that the banner might influence a future coaches view of the program is naive, especially if you are talking about someone in demand with options.
Yes other fan bases ***** and moan and rip players and recruits on message boards.

they don't generally fly banners asking to fire the coach, as frustrated as they may be. It's short sighted even if the anger is justifiable. I want him gone too.

The banner could go the way of when it was done for Butch or when it was done for Shannon.
I say fly the dam thing and see what happens.

The WEZ banner is coming later in the season so this is really about the guy that's gonna fly one this weekend. The WEZ's timing is perfectly fine.

That being said, hey D$ or Lu, what's the word on Golden losing the locker room? Have some players quit on him?

Fvck every other program's fan base.

This is MIAMI foo!

I still can't believe I donated $25 to fly a banner thanking this ******* for doing his job.

D$ is probably right. At this point I don't care anymore. I hate all of it.

Nothing personal but that was an accidental like ill ask you to go back in see gators 2014 class where they went 4-8 come on bruh they lost to georgia southern you cant honestly say that they wont come, whoever doesnt come wasnt coming outside of the canes winning a national championship which i highly doubt any thought we would this year.

The banner will move more needles after Nebraska than it ever would move before a FAMU game. I think that is the point everyone is trying to make and its very simple point. Its about timing. Hopefully dude who already bought the banner comes to his senses and realizes that if you want to band together and do something for the sake of our program, at least be smart and do it strategically instead of haphazardly thru anger. Just think it thru. That's my final two cents on the matter.

The Nebraska game is fairly meaningless in the big picture of this season. This season was all about winning 10, improving dramatically, and winning the Coastal. We've already dug a big hole in the Coastal because Vag Tech had a weak schedule and would throttle that team that showed up to play UL.

A 1-3 record after the Nebraska game could hasten a Pat Haden type decision by Blake. I'd let Ice finish out the year as interim HC as he is the only coach with HC experience, even if it's HS.

I agree with everything you said but this:
"Message boards and banners don't affect us nearly as bad as some of you portray it to."

I think with leaders we have on this current team that go all the way back to optimist ball it puts a bad taste into the future hometown kids families and further pushes them to other in and out of state programs. I guarantee the families of these players still sit and drink beers and BBQ the other local families and discuss this crap. Believe me they want the change too - but don't want their kids to be the fall guys and have the negative attn when their kids are on the field.
