Tebow bad arm but won games....

I’m not sure what the fascination with Martell is

Agree 100%

Tried and failed to gain starting position at OSU.

Came here and earned and regulated to 3rd string behind William's and Perry

How does a player who's never gotten no higher than 3rd string anywhere he's been in CFB....under different offensive schemes .... be hyped by some as the 2nd coming?

Face the fact that it's highly improbable that he will ever become 2nd team, let alone start on any major CFB team....and there is a point where a person's dreams for someone in the future become delusions

What is it with people on this site not being able to keep up a rational debate? Are you suggesting that Williams didn't **** the bed multiple times?
FIU and va tech 1st quarter he played poorly..already said that. Just miss me with the Tate argument with all the other problems that have plagued this team

lmao🤣🤣🤣🤣 okay..so your performance in practice has no say in rather you play of how u perform..ok

It's not definitive, no. Certainly not for quarterbacks. Anyone who's watched football for a long time knows some are better practice players than game players and vice versa. And to NEVER let someone with a skill set that highly rated have a chance is ridiculous.

When your offense is performing worse than what Will Freaking Muschamp is doing, you give any QB a chance to get things going.

Jarren was a 4star too. Kosi was a 4 star. Kyle Wright a 5start. Kirby freeman a 5 star..Tate a 4star and 3rd stringer who couldn’t consistently beat our kosi. All 3 QBs were learning a brand new system so scheme can’t be a argument

Who made the decision that Martell couldn't beat out Perry? Just curious.

I'm not arguing he should start, should have been the starter in week 0, or be anywhere else on the depth chart. I believed JW was the future of this program, and I haven't totally abandoned that either. But to be okay with Martell seeing no action at all so far this season, a failure of a season plagued by poor offensive play, namely at the QB position, is delusional. Instead, you strawman people by saying we think Martell is some savior when no one is saying that.

He wasn’t as good as Matt lol..but these cats in this thread are out of control..quick you think martell makes us a 10 win team?
No, I'm not a big believer in Tate, I think he has extremely questionable arm talent but he's not really fit in Enos's scheme anyway.

I hope he transfer & plays elsewhere just so his fans will be happy, but I think people are delusional thinking he's some sort of secret Superstar sitting on the bench.

"couldn't beat out" is laughable BS. You're just ignoring what you don't want to deal with (the fact that he's NEVER had a real chance in GAMES). Theres been no GAME competition with Tate. Let him actually play and see who "beats out" whom.

But let's get to the root of all this. Going back to early season, there are some on here who don't want him to have a chance because their ultimate fear is that he would be better than the other two and become the starter. If he was inserted, started and performance improved, they would be seething through every victory because he's not the one they want to see as the face of Miami football.

Great players treat practice as though it’s a game. No ball should ever sail, hit dirt or be placed in bad spots in practice. If your in a 3 man open QB race, that you the finish 3rd in. It is weak asf to say you weren’t given a fair shake. You were out performed. If you had just finished 2nd you’d be the next man up. You would’ve gotten a shot vs Va tech. You would’ve started vs Pitt. You would’ve started vs uva. The opportunity was there for tate to take the job.

only cis fan believe in this game day competition theory. If a kid gets out performed in scrimmage environments by the more consistent player..you play the more consistent player

So you're agreeing that coaches sometimes make mistakes when setting up depth charts.

When did Martell not "play well enough"?
No. Both example you used were kids who finished 2nd on the chart and were next up. If martell had finished 2nd on the chart. He would’ve played this year. Period

I didn't know Spurrier was a CIS guy. He's been pretty blunt over the years in saying Wurffel was bad practice player ("beat out" by Terry Dean) but shined in games. You know, national title, heisman and all that stuff. But look, you ought to be happy. You're getting your way. Tate won't have a CHANCE to show he's better in games, so you don't have that oh shìt moment of finding out he's better. You're safe.

And if anyone can be trusted to determine the difference between 2nd & 3rd, it's offensive lord god king Enos, right?
