State of Emergency-NOAA Link in OP

Surprised to hear they usually leave on Thursday's for away games. That's a long time before the game and 2 hotel nights. I guess they leave late Thursday night instead of early Friday morning.

I've had an eye pass right over me. Once the eye is gone, about 50 or more miles away, the worst is over. At worst, TS winds which won't last. I've been through several of these. Have you?

No, you're the only one, even though most of us live in Florida. You're THE guy who has experienced hurricanes.

The person was talking about driving down I-95. Even though the eye is gone, the driving conditions will still be terrible. But people here act like it's a clear spring day once the eye has passed. Have you bothered to look at the size of this thing on radar?

You still have no clue. Unless it stalls, in this type/size of hurricane, once the eye is moving away from you, in a very short time, a few hours, you're good to go.

I'm actually feeling better about the game being played Saturday night. Today would have been the day to cancel it. They could do it tomorrow with school being closed I guess. The longer it goes the better it is for us.

Maybe the poster thought it would swing by Disneyworld for the day since it's already in the area, and its kids would love it.
