Stacy Searles - OL

What does he have to work with?

Bunch of Kehoe specials

That's not entirely true.

Darling was a National recruit.
McDermott was a National recruit.
Isidora was a National recruit.
Linder was a highly regarded South FL kid.
St. Louis was a National recruit.

So.....he's got plenty to work with from a raw materials perspective.

Maybe they suck and where incorrectly scouted by a bunch of schools -- but I don't think so.

More likely that they're miscast at their current positions, but either way there is some talent there.

Kehoe got more out of them than Searels is.

Pass rush was a problem but never this much of a problem.

Its scary af everytime Kaaya drops back in the 2 minute drill.

Our last second drives were gashed in the same way two weeks in a row.

It's a technique issue.

After Game 4: Love Searels and the attitude he brings. Guy just gets it. Coached at Texas. Great hire

After Game 6: Guy is a corch. Gets fired from every program he works at. Weakest hire Richt made...

Our fans

I haven't made 1 thread praising this guy so this post is irrelevant here.

Coach Kool and Coach Richt are the only coaches I have praised/endorsed as they are proven commodities.

Half of you commenting have been the same people that are asking why this same group is regressing as compared to last year.

It aint Richt's playcalling like some of you dumb fuqs suggest.

Searels is suspect.

How has the line regressed? They weren't good last year.

Give some analytical reasons why Searels is doing a bad job.

Imo, he is a liability and showing to be the weakest of Richt's hires.

Im not seeing him take enough blame for the decline of the offensive line.
Our players look lost on elementary Defensive lineman moves and that troubles me because they practice against a ton of different moves in practice everyday.

Where is the technique, the counter?

We may as well give coach Kool a raise and have him double as the oline coach because the shid is getting ridiculous.
Richt will have to make some decisions soon.

I dont like journeyman coaches that much... searels is looking like Randy Melvin 2.0

Decline?

This was a bad unit, and they continue to be bad.

We need a significant talent upgrade there. Getting a proper LT would go a long way toward fixing the line.

Like Lu , Chise and many others have said.....

They are playing worse than last year. Thats a decline.

Drama king

You better have posted this in every post condemning a coach or player for not earning their job.

Man one weak link on an OL can make the whole unit look like trash. We have something like 3 weak links at any given time.

Pour one out for another NAMED THREAD.

This is the most worthy name thread.

I don't know if you're watching the trench war but its deeper than just " one weak link"

Perhaps "something like 3 weak links at any given time"?

It's not a technique issue it's simple math

Demarcus Walker > Darling + Kayaa lack of awareness/mobility = Sack Fumble.

A top 3 round DE will win that battle at a high rate.

Fair enough. Give the guy some time at least

So he's supposed to make our trash offensive line with no talent all of a sudden be elite?

Smh first ppl hate on Diaz, then Rumph, then people hate on Jon richt, then Dugans, now Searles

I actually think our OL is doing better than I expected. Then again, I think they are by far the biggest liability on the team. When you have no LT and no one capable of filling the spot, you're in trouble. People spend their whole careers out of position.

Darling is a huge liability. The interior hasn't been bad. St. Louis was pretty good vs UNC.

I'd put St. Louis at LT, move Darling to RG and put Isidora at RT.

So how do you explain UNC DE using the exact same move in the exact same scenario, the following week?

No development

Like i told the other guy.

I've never made a post in condemnation of any of them.

Searels group looks really bad. Worse than last year, imo.

I don't think they're being taught proper technique.

Dlines are making it look waaaay to easy this year.

So you've got nuthin'?

The season isn't over. I can't compare with statistics just yet.

We are top 20 in giving up sacks and top 10 in giving up tackles for loss so far.

My eyes and memory tell me thats a decline.

I'll get back to you in a few weeks. Nerd

Some guards can't be taught to be tackles. It was obvious last year. It's obvious this year. Darling is an OG and Sonny is average. I don't know why you convinced yourself they were going to be light years better.
