Some positives

I wasn't a Mario guy nor am I now but this guy has brought in better players and we are starting to see them develop.
we are a competent qb away from being an undefeated or 1 loss team.

GT loss: coaching
UNC loss: led at half, they made adjustments, we didn’t: coaching
NC State: yikes, we scored 6 points: coaching and execution which has always been blamed on coaching
FSU: settled for FGs: coaching

I spots a trend…

I was less down after this game than others. I just want to focus on some positives.
Our talent level is seriously improving.

Jacolby George-he has shown up in every big game.
Wes-he really played well.
Damari Brown-he held Keon Coleman to 24 yards and he was victim of a couple of offensive pi calls the refs missed.
Richard-played pretty good.
Emory-Kid is all heart. The team clearly likes him. still not sure if he is the guy but that throw to George was unreal.
Jaden Harris- for a new safety, this kid is picking the position up which is important because JW is a mess and Kam is a gambler.

We are starting to see younger and newer guys slide in and play well.
I agree on the talent improving. It’s clear at many places on the field. I wish the talent on CIS would improve though because as I finished reading your commentary, my first thought was “how long will it take before a commenter crrapps on this? And like a fly finding a porch light at night, it happened immediately….like first comment. 😂
I love you CIS 💕

Stop. Please. That last sentence is just a lie. I get your angst toward Mario, but you don’t get to just excuse/unremember all the terrible QB play that caused losses to NC State, UNC and GT. Yes, GT is on Mario for being an all-time idiot and he deserves every single rock thrown at him for that. That alone does not absolve TVD from his portion of the blame. I’m simply asking not to omit that part.

Carry on.
Oh he is hot garbage too — no disagreements there. But, who chose to keep playing the guy even after he was physically and mentally broken?

I get what you’re saying. It ends up being a chicken or the egg conversation.

Thing is, what other option was there? I like Emory, but haven’t seen anything from him that says elite. I see poise and heart which are great, but doesn’t always translate to winning games against top competition. Yes he beat Clemson, but it was with exactly the same game plan as yesterday. Quite honestly, he was one lucky pass to Jacolby George away from having a dreadful day yesterday. Similar to the TD pass to Colbie against Clemson.

If you’re the corch and you have a broken TVD, a young Emory and a soon-to-transfer Jacurri, what are you doing? Bill Parcells once said “you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shiitt.” We simply need more talent at QB/WR before I feel comfortable assigning blame.
Sorta- it is called throwing a ball longer than 15 yards. i know Guidry would call it multiple times a game if he was on O.
I get it. I was being a wise guy.
To your point though, with all the interceptions and near-interceptions, I understand why they’re being so boring on offense. Turnovers are the fastest way to a loss.

Still no targets to Young in the red zone.
Still no go routes to Horton, Harrell, BS. Sorry but Emory has enough of an arm to throw it 60 yards. FSU was playing man and we never pressed them with real speed. Harrell is a GO route specialist, can’t run anything else. Horton is better than Young at the go and isn’t good at 50/50s.

Harrell is a waste of a scholarship. He did nothing at Alabama either. One trick pony. Doesn’t mean we should never try to hit him, but I get why he’s not on the field much.
The one long pass Emory completed was a poor angle by the safety away from going back the other direction.
Horton? He’s ok I guess.

This team is really really young. I think a lot of us forget that.

Harrell sucks as a WR! He is basically a track guy that can catch 50-70% of the deep throws if the QB hits him in stride and no one can catch him.

Horton is lost almost as much as Harrell but also has more speed than Young.

BS has more speed than X yet we keep acting like X is our answer at Slot.

Ray Ray is also a big speed improvement at slot yet got zero snaps.

CJ, Ajay, and Citizen with no touches. Ajay has better vision and speed than Fletcher so I would have given him touches but his hamstring may still be an issue. BS with only one 6 yard carry… stupid to not get him 4-6 more!

We kept seeing major contributions by true freshman. They relied on upperclassmen

Keep recruiting and fix our offense and we'll be **** good.

This is a cycle we have to get out of. For the last 10-15 years we’re seemingly always relying on underclassmen to be the core of the team.

219 post and such an original take.

The trolls / mopes are out in full force.

I swear 75 percent of people on this board get off on Miami’s suffering
Hahaha. Was waiting for the post count comment from someone. More posts = better fan. Talk about original! So predictable.

Why do you think it's unfair? That's an honest question. I respect your point of view and would really like to hear what your whole take is on the entire Mario debate.
What can a head coach do when the only QB you have has self destructed? Maybe notice all the complaints are synonymous with his play going downhill(rapidly) you really wanna blame any coach for your Heisman hopeful QB having 12 turnovers in 4 games? Bench him that's the obvious trend. No problem let's do it and understand most defenses we see aren't poo but then you still get a QB u attempted to keep his redshirt and isn't prepared yet to be a starter on this level. Complain about play calling second half. No problem. Well we're yall complaining about play calling when we were attempting to throw the ball around some in the first half and we had 4(I believe it was, maybe 3) three and outs because we couldn't complete a pass? How bout when what gave us momentum and had them rocked was us running the ball down they throat? Maybe you say well take the top of the field? Okay well did you notice what Emory's deep ball looks like? Not many recipes for success. We had installed several packages for jaccurri and I would've loved to see that blended in. But anyways not sure how our issues relate to Mario. Me I'm just tired of all this feminine **** with so much *****ing. There's is soo many positives to take away from this team. If you take a second to realize where we are with good QB play even all this hoe *** **** would just go away. Y'all do you. I'm tired of arguing with people who just wanna be miserable. ****em.

All rational points. Lots of blame to go around. Mario does not have history on his side on this one, though.

**** I’m usually full mope squad by now I don’t know if it’s age or I see something. I knew the season would be bad cause of the qb room but to me I always said for any HC this was year 1. Norvell same sh (but he runs a better offense) they wanted him fired and we laughed. I said after we blew them boys out that his offense was good he just didn’t have the horses. That was after we boomed them boys 52-10.

I do not count a patch work recruiting class when a HC arrives cause he’s mainly targeting Diaz heads cause they have no choice. This past class was that year 1 class. We are way better than last season but I still expected this. I don’t like moral victories but I expected us to get blown out. These dudes fought and we almost right there. I agree with cribby and that’s how I see it, upgrade qb and skill guys and we right in it. I bet next season our OL will be way better and the DL and LB group is going to be better. Hope JDub stays don’t care what these women think on here.
