So.. about our WR recruiting..

Greene and Watkins were both committed elsewhere when Golden was hired.

And I don't recall exactly what happen in Cooper's recruitment. Wanted to play for a winner automatically??

Cooper wanted to come to UM. Al fcked that one up royally. He put pressure on him to commit right away, and Cooper got turned off.

Losing Dixon hurts, but with our depth at WR, this is the one position that we can afford to miss out. Dixon is very talented, not elite. This is not the same as missing out on Coley.

Mbecks, the WR situation isn't great, but I'd be a little more concerned about our ability to sign local blue-chip RBs.

Yearby isn't a local blue chip RB? Oh okay.

he is, but in a class where you clearly want 2, you miss on 2 of the top 3 in your backyard.

I agree with the sentiment on Dixon being a good but not great prospect, but again, you want 4 in your class and you miss on your top 3 in your backyard. Not good

The top 2 guys down here are Michel and Cook. Yearby's great, and I love him. But you need more than 1 RB, especially when that dude is 180 pounds. UM needs some bucks at RB, and Michel and Cook are those bucks. Collins was that guy last year. They are physically ready to play FCS football right now.

We've now missed on 3 of the top 4 RB's in 2 years down here. We specifically wanted bigger backs, which Golden said himself. We got a guy who is a real 'Cane but is slight as ****. Our RB depth is abysmal right now.

Whose to say that Gus Edwards won't be that guy next year? Dallas Crawford averaged 4+ yards/carry.

Exactly. Don't tell that Golden's fan boys though because they think he's perfect. You mention that we're struggling to get the top big backs in our own backyard, and they just keep pointing out one guy, as if you only need 1 RB.

Abysmal?

You don't think that's a bit of a stretch?

Having Duke Johnson, Joseph Yearby, Brandon Powell, Dallas Crawford, and Gus Edwards is "absymal" running back depth?

Some of you folks need to get a grip.

Yes. It's a great runner with durability issues, two
freshman, and 2 JAGS until proven otherwise.

LULZ at Dallas Crawford being a high-level RB like Collins, Cook and Michel. You're talking about a guy who is a great team guy and a good player, but you won't beat Bama and FSU and the top teams relying on mid-level type RBs like that. Gus might develop into a good RB, but are you telling me that it's no big deal losing out on program changing type of RBs?

If you want to beat the great teams with this staff you **** sure better out-recruit them and have explosive players all over the field. Dallas isn't that guy.

We ran for 2 thou...Averaged 5 yards/carry...running the ball ain't the freakin issue

This is the dumbest **** ever. No, running the ball isn't THE issue. But having elite playmakers all over the field that can bail you out when your QB is sucking, or its raining, or somebody else gets hurt, etc. We had a good passing game last year but Coley took our threat to another level. Passing wasn't our issue in 2012 but Coley made a difference.Guys like Sony and Cook would do the same. We have guys like this in our backyard and we aren't getting them. We only have one of those guys, and we can't run him into the ground. We're going to have to rely on the run even more next year with either more of a game manager type QB or a freshman. Missing out on elite recruits in your backyard at a position of need is a big deal.

Why do you freaking maroons still think that it's required to field the 2001 Miami Hurricanes to win at a high level?

It's so annoying.

You don't need Gore, Portis, and McGahee.

You don't need Shockey and Winslow.

You need pieces that fit roles. Not every player on the freaking team needs to be the best recruit in the history of all time.

Mark Ingram and Eddie Lacy were solid back. Neither of them were in the ballpark of Sony or Dalvin.

Hey dummy.....

Braxton Berrios is an elite slot receiver. We haven't had a kid like that in a long time....kid could be a Wes Welker/Danny Amendola type player. We don't have that right now. Kid had the fastest 20 yeard shuttle time in the country at the opening. I would not expect you to understand what that means.

Herb Waters will play in the NFL for a long time. He has elite talent and speed. Was overshadowed by another NFL WR...Allen Hurns.

Stacey Coley could be the best WR in the country next year.

Malcom Lewis will be elite if he recovers 100%. Rayshwan Scott is a stud if he gets his head out of his a$$.

Langham, Brady and Trayone Gray have a ton of upside.

You are stupid.
thats a lot of IFs you got in there

Way to go off on a complete non-sensical tangent. Nobody said **** about having the best team ever. UM has won so much because we have access to elite talent in our backyard, and now we're letting those guys at a position of need leave. When you have the ability to get a kid who can change a game in one snap, and makes everything easier for your offense, OL, and QB while making everything harder for the other defense, it's good to get them. Especially when they are in your backyard and you have two of their teammates and brother going to your school, or you've recruited them since 8th grade. Wast Stacy Coley "required?" No. Does he make everything easier for everbody else on the offense and everything harder for everybody on defense? Yes. So what the **** are you talking about again? It's okay to not get elite players in your backyard because Alabama only had Mark Ingram and Eddie Lacy?

Don't let ******** drag the board down. It's laughable for anyone to suggest our problems are at receiver.
