Sleepwalking in Chapel Hill(thoughts on the UNC win)...

We had Najeh or DJ shredding people at full back, or Shockey down the middle, or Santana, Wayne, Ethnic, or Andre on curls, outs, slant and go’s. Awesome rb screens and play action qb roll outs. We ran counters, off tackles , sweeps. We had rub and pick routes for end zone passing

Not only are all of your facts wrong but you also seem to think that curls , screens and counters aren't "predictable" play-calls.

Nobody will ever go broke underestimating the intelligence of this fan base.
All of my facts are wrong lord. This idiotic fan base. And screens, counters, curls are loads better than 4 verts, crash the middle run **** show Richt runs.

This and more. You are a complete idiot if you think our offense under Chud was predictable. We had Najeh or DJ shredding people at full back, or Shockey down the middle, or Santana, Wayne, Ethnic, or Andre on curls, outs, slant and go’s. Awesome rb screens and play action qb roll outs. We ran counters, off tackles , sweeps.

DJ Williams never played fullback when Chud was OC.

Nor did Santana Moss or Reggie Wayne play a single snap under him either.

A bunch of clueless hacks getting almost every single fact wrong.
Chud ran the same offense Coker did.

Exactly, exact same offense. Same plays and terminology ,hence why the kids wanted Coker. Nothing would change.

Chud ran the same offense Coker did.

I-form, Coker T.

Simplest pro-style offense on Earth.

But you think curls, screens and counters are super sophisticated.

And just because Chud ran the same offense as Coker doesn't mean that DJ Williams played fullback under Chud.

Sometimes our fans are so clueless that it's mind-boggling.

Exactly, exact same offense.

Nobody ever said otherwise.

Maybe you can explain how Chud running the same offense as Coker somehow made it unpredictable and sophisticated.

You guys are literally getting the players and the coordinators wrong.

And you're claiming that screens and counters are super unpredictable.

It's comical.

All of my facts are wrong lord.

Yes.

You said that DJ Williams played fullback under Chud (he didn't) and that he "shredded" people.

He had 16 carries for 50 yards.

In his entire career.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/miami-fl/2000.html

:stupid:
Watch the 2000 Sugar Bowl. Najeh was catching td passes shredding the Gators as the fullback. You assumed run, that’s your foolishness. My point was both Chud and Coker utilized the FB as a weapon. Chud was coaching TE and FB in 2000 and OC in 2001 so yeah, DJ did play FB for him. Next.

well, Miami won. And that's about all I can really say, I guess.

Yeah, a 'W' is a 'W' but is it unrealistic to expect to blow-out a 1-7 who is down to their 3rd string QB and had just gotten molly-whopped the week before in Blacksburg?

For this current Hurricanes team, yeah, I guess so.

You create 5 TO's and to only muster up 24 points is pathetic. Rosier was really bad today, for the first time this season over an extended period of time you saw the worst-case scenario that some had feared but in all fairness, he's getting absolutely no support from the running game and this seemed like the first time we really missed the presense of Mark Walton. But overall, this offense was feast or famine today with no consistency. Till this program gets in better run blocking Olineman, I think this will be a theme.

Ahmonn Richards wasn't much of a factor, in fact, he was only targeted a few times

Again, Chris Herndon should be utilized more and Berrios at the slot is deadly. Both made key plays today. But I wanted to focus a bit on two freshman, Jeff Thomas who continues to come on week-by-week and Deejay Dallas, who made his first big play as a Hurricane. Also, Bandy(outside of whiffing on a screen play that led to a big play) and Garvin made an impact on special teams with a blocked punt. Again, another really impactful freshman class at Miami. Really nice foundation being laid here.

Defensively, yeah, some busts but they held UNC to 19 on the road, and they created turnovers and that chain got plenty of exposure. I can live with the occassional gash in the run game, etc but what was frustrating today was the QB draw and how many times they lost contain and let the QB scamper outside. But again, that offense was given several opportunities to put away the game late and they flubbed it. Also wanted to note that Jacquan Johnson is really solid. No, he may not be Ed Reed or Sean Taylor but every game he's playing with seemingly more confidence and making plays that may not be spectacular but noticeable. Also Michael Jackson has really come on as a player this season. DMoney told me two years ago he thought he could be a real player at UM and he's becoming that.

Special teams, another spotty day. KO coverage gave up a big return and Thomas doesn't get a lot of help on returns. Also, Feagles isn't good, right now. Very weak leg and also a slow release on kicks.

Yeah, they played awful- worst game of the year. And guess what? It really means nothing now. To me, the season now really begins with consecutive games at the Hard Rock vs Vatech and Notre Dame. I expect a more focused and determined club to show up. More than any other game, college football is about emotion. And now I think Miami is probably healthier than at any time the past few weeks. I got some heat on twitter for saying that I think Miami could/will drop in the polls after this game, but here's the thing, it really doesn't matter. As long as Miami keeps winning somehow, they're good.

But I do wonder, is this 2013 all over again(I hope not). I think this team has much more pure physical talent than that squad. But this game did remind me our struggles vs Wake Forest before the FSU showdown that season.

Lastly, that ESPN2 production( from the announcing to the camera work) was embarrissingly bad. I mean, that was cable-access quality and that's an insult to shows like 'Wayne's World'. Have the budget cuts at the 'World Wide Leader' really had THAT much of an impact?

But 7-0.

Now, the season begins. Bring on November...

This is ridiculous btw, the same thing every last one of u is complaining about now is the very same thing Brian hightower's uncle was saying two weeks ago. But u guys ran him out of the forum because we were undefeated and Malik wasn't that bad. Now two undefeated games later u all are calling for his head. I think an apology is in order. We had an idiot swear up and down the Jeff Thomas was slow. Now I haven't seen him since. Listen our team isn't perfect, idk why u expect cam newton at QB, our team is what it is, we aren't elite but we are 2 years away, we are overachieving and it's great. When we lose it is clearly expected so I hope this board doesn't crash, if we are 10-1 11-0 9-2 be happy we aren't where we were. Nobody expected a NC anyways so breathe and accept it. Stop ragging our players cuz we aren't all pro at each position, instead congratulate them on the teams position and wait anxiously for next Saturday!

The reason this isnt 2013 is because FSU and UF suck so badly.

If we blow VT and ND (hope we dont), it's still a much, much better season than our Florida rivals.

No excuse for a bad end to recruiting.

Just win one of the two tough games and dont **** the bed elsewhere, and we're keepin on keepin on in rebuilding....

well, just one thing - I agreed with Brooklyndee and I certainly didn't run him off. And have you seen the recent versoin of Cam Newton?(he's been awful, this isn't 2015)

Now, just take a deep breath...there ya go. Relax

Richt runs zone read.

But I'm talking to a guy who thinks the pro-style I-form is quantum physics.
You think the zone read is quantum physics? Get the fk out of here with your nonsense. Zone read is an offshoot of the triple option dude. Nothing complicated about it. The pro offense, when ran with the right personnel, is the most complicated and hard to stop offense out there. There’s a reason most NFL teams still run versions of it. It is simply hard to get a qb smart enough to run it. Oline too have to be good.

Chud was coaching TE and FB in 2000 and OC in 2001 so yeah, DJ did play FB for him. Next.

Chud was the TE coach in 2000. Never coached fullbacks.

DJ Williams was a linebacker in 2001-03 (when Chud was OC).

DJ never played for Chud.

Period.

Just take the L.

You clearly don't have a firm grasp on that era.

I've never seen anybody get more stuff wrong yet continue to plow straight ahead.

It is not the most complicated.

You're just clueless.

We ran the pro offense because that was Butch's background and we recruited future all-pros and it was dominating when run well.

Not because it was complex.

Im not tripping clearly u can see I have peace of mind. And obviously I was talking about auburn cam newton I wouldn't use an nfl reference for college. Some people on here spaz out over basically anything under the sun, chill and be grateful, that's what I'm sayng

The play calling reminds me of dnorfio defense, very predictable, doesn't make the defense think pre-snap

It's about execution and tempo more than the call. Oline was handled today and Malik didn't get into a good rhythm as a result, but styles make fights and next week is a new game.

Yeah, and he'll be bringing in another QB who has been unproductive in HS, much like Allison was. And Richt signed Allison - it wasn't Golden.

Highly, highly questionable that he'd bring in a QB who can't even get it done at the HS level.

Always look forward to these recaps, thanks for posting. I am in total agreement that we are on the right track. Our recruiting has been much better under Richt and it is already paying dividends.

I know no one wants to hear it but Richt still only has 1 full recruiting class under his belt enrolled here.

allison committed to golden

richt takes the job two months before signing day and he's supposed to kick allison out and not take a top qb? lmao
