Per about 20 years worth of college games that Vegas has tracked, we have a 20% chance of winning as an 18 point dog. So that would be a 2 out of 10 chance which seems to be fair. The one caveat is , when one team has an overwhelming advantage of returning starters for game one of the year , they usually cover the spread.

I would take the Canes with the points but would not bet on a Canes win.

It would be so much simpler if the scale went from 0 to 10… with the following 1 to 10 scale, a 10% chance would be 1.9

I am of the opinion that we have about a 20% to 25% chance of winning this game. If we move the ball well we should have a shot. I don’t know much about the bama specialists but I know we have a couple good ones and if they don’t it could help us win the field position battle.

2 out of 10. To defeat Bama, you need depth at key units like DL, DB, and OL and we have big holes at DE, S, and OT.

I, personally, would say 3/10 as well. We got a better shot than most teams due to our QB and an overwhelmingly experienced roster.

Moreover, I can’t recall a point in time within the last 10 years where Bama has seemed as beatable as they are now. While they are still immensely talented, they are green as **** across the board.

Young players, no matter how sensational they are, are prone to make mistakes.

Win the turnover battle, stay disciplined when it comes to penalties, and execute at a high level — that’s the recipe for victory.
