Ryan Ragone

Ragone not playing isn't throwing any shade on Miami or any future walk on for that matter. If you look at Miami's history some walk-one were able to come on and actually earn a starting job and fit right in. Albert Bentley was a on. Pretty sure Carlos Huerta walked on. With that said this ragtime dude is not Albert gently. He has zero ability. Let him run down on kick off maybe but he'll I'd be nervous putting him there.

Few shouldn't see the field either unless he displays tremendous raw talent worthy of being a UM starter. If he's a next level talent then by all means...... if he's just starting cause the other guys don't know the play book or some other mental situation then the coaches need to be slapped. Naw but seriously..get those guys some reps.

6 snaps too many, tbh. not sure if it's favoritism or a hesitation to put in the young guys, but every time he's out there it's like playing with 10 guys on d. he's probably a great kid, but his ceiling is g5 backup at lb. no instincts, bad angles, and

I saw him get absolutely smoked one of the snaps he was in.
no you didn't!!!!! that is 100% false statement

Every week, win or lose, there is always some target for fans wrath. So far this season we’ve had Ivey, Few, Pope and Ragone. Looking forward to seeing who’s next.

For the record, Ragone a made man in my book. Helped us land D’Eriq. He deserves that scholly and his 6 plays a game.

Fans crack me up, the bench players are always better than the starters. As if coaches, with their jobs on the line, are deliberately playing the worst players on the team. Could it be that the younger player isn’t ready mentally to log those snaps? Let the coaches put in a younger, inexperienced player and he has a bust, costing us a TD. Y’all would be whining and crying for ppl to be fired in that scenario too. There is no winning with y’all, even when we win smh.
they have not scored 1 TD in 2 years while he has been on the field

They weren't garbage time snaps. Why tf do we need to play 3 WLBs? McCloud and Steed have been here for 50 years and have earned the right to play. 2 WLBs is sufficient. It hasn't all been bad when Ragone is on the field. He's got a nose for the ball but he's a step slow.
he was a step slow on that play because he fought off getting cut. the same block dropped most of the other LB's. he stayed on his feet and still made the play though it was too many yards. I hope he gets more snaps so yall can see what he is about. if yall would go back and watch all of his snaps yall will see how quick he is to the ball.

Yes, dude isn't a D1 athlete. I'd rather have an inexperienced Huff with A+ athleticism then a more experienced unathletic Ragone
There are quite a few players on this team that arent D1 and getting playing time. Problem is recruiting/depth is not good

We are undefeated. We have a high octane offense. Defense has played serviceable but we worried about 6 snaps. Not a bone head penalty. Not a touchdown given up. But 6 snaps.....

I love how people keep mentioning Ivey as if he unfairly gets critized when his play on the field actually deserved the criticism.

Ivey played the most snaps out of every CB vs UAB with 54, against LVille he only had 33, that wasn't because the fans forced Baker to play him less, the staff reviewed the film & saw what many of us have been saying for a while about his inability to cover down the field.

Fans aren't just picking on him for no reason, he's played pretty bad dating back to last year & hadn't improved much, so when he continuously keeps getting chances despite his poor play fans will obviously wonder why, especially when you have corners behind him that aren't playing.

You don't have to tell me how unreasonable & irrational our fans are most of the time, it's a general consensus Miami fans are restless & insufferable 95% of the time, however, I don't think that's the case in this situation especially with Ivey or Ragone because the issue is when these guys are out there on the field & they're not making plays & you have other guys on the sideline who are seemingly as talented if not more, then it makes people ask, "ummm how come that dude ain't playing if the other dude who is playing is struggling?"

When it comes to Ragone, he's great kid, great in the locker room& a great story for our program, love him. But, when he plays (& you can go back to the GTech game last year too), it's quite obvious there's a lack of speed, lateral quickness & just overall ability. So it comes down to okay, he's on the field & he's playing & it doesn't look too good, so what do we do now? Do he keep playing & keep not looking too good & are we as fans not supposed to notice it & just smile?

We play 2 LB's & we have about 9 guys for those 2 spots, there's a consistent 4 who play & once we start getting into the 5th guy people wanna see what we got with some of those other players, but when they don't get snaps but a limited walk-on does it makes people scratch their head.

Now, I will say people are being impatient, we're only 2 games in, so it's way too early to start getting too rowdy over shìt like this right now, but what you don't wanna see is for this stuff to keep happening as we get into the deep end of the season. I mean no offense to Ragone or any of his fans, but he don't need to be on the field when we play crucial opponents like Clemson, Pitt, UVA etc., that's just the cold hard truth, nothing against him personally.
if he isn't on the field against Clemson I don't see anyway we win unless the other LB's play gets a lot better

We don't really need to get to our 5th our 6th LB when we usually only play 2 at a time. That's my point.

If Huff is ready, get him some reps because he's a special talent. But there's no reason to have to put Big Ragu out there in anything other than garbage time because he does not possess the requisite necessities to play at this level.
Agreed 1000%

He has a near tfl but still helped blow up the play. He was far from the issue we had with lb and striker. Mccloud played a really good game though.
I thought Mc Cloud was the only linebacker who played well against Louisville. Huge improvement from UAB. We need him to be at least consistent if not great.

Ragone is playing his 6 snaps because he knows the defense. Huff is still catching up mentally, but I believe he has done enough on ST to learn on the job.
Great another "he know the system" player thats getting rolled over because he's in the right spot

Also why does a player how to become a Redshirt Senior before the understand a system that just gave up 500+ yards

When did he get rolled over?

What does last year have to do with the 6 snaps he played Saturday?

You're right. Every player who looks awful one year never looks awful the next.

I didn't have a bad year on the field last season, so by your asinine logic, I should be playing.
