Rumph Learning from Mistakes?

Was he the coach that congratulated one of our targets for signing with another school?

Uh no... quit making sh*t up

Yes it is, he pumped up Wilson commitment to Florida. Broke you look stupid in this thread with your usual bull**** gargling. Leave it alone until Rumph actually has something to shove in all the doubters faces as opposed to on the tail end of failure.

Supposedly he almost lost Dean as well. Richt is quoted as saying Dean told them he was choosing ASU Tuesday night but then changed his mind on NSD. What the **** is Rumph saying to these kids? Dean should have been a slam dunk.

WOW!!!!! I had no fcking idea we almost lost Dean to fcking Arizona State. That's absolute insanity right there.

If he's nearly losing a Miami kid, who calls himself Florida Boy to a moribund nothing program like ASU, then what makes people think he's going to lock down all these 2018 kids with offers from top 5 programs? We better hope to **** that they just want to stay home.

The fact that Mr. Hurricane, Al Blades's, son isn't even a commit yet should scare the **** out of UM fans.

Don't forget the power move guy is deans cousin as well

I could see Cooney calling Dean and saying man I just landed this nice paying gig and how would it look if I can't land my own nephew who was dropped by Bama and now wants to go to ASU.

Exactly how it must have played out. Dean would have made Cooney an absolute laughingstock if he picked ASU.

I know it's too early to judge this cooney guy but so far to me he comes across like a street mart cat stealing paychecks every week from miami not because he's delivering on the trail but because they're scared he would hurt us if he was on another team working against us.

Environment at American heritage is not good lol. And y'all wonder why we couldn't get kids from there. Fake a55 chad Wilson and his son are pro Florida and probably bash Miami every chance they get

Kai Leon Herbert on Pete podcast
Said Miami's dorms and a couple of other facilities weren't as nice as other schools but he's cool with it. More importantly, "I wasn't even really considering Miami before my OV because of how everyone was talking down Miami" .

Good things are facilities are being upgraded( as well as the dorms soon)
Everyone, meaning, Rumph.

There are some serious red flags in that article. We'll know all we need to know this time next year about Rumph's recruiting abilities. Can't afford to f*ck that '18 DB class up.
Absolutely true,. Why are you calling kids who played you and ask what could I have done better?
Chise you need to go over and give him a talking too!!!!

Mahoney-Pearson isn't too bad and the UV is very nice, And the football players don't stay in the Frosh dorms. Only problem with the dorms is the Internet (which has been improved), the beds, and the size (not a problem in the UV). So after you visit and look at it yourself, I don't see the big deal....especially the UV.

As far as other facilities, Schwartz center is done. Dining Hall just got upgraded, and actually looks nice now. The IPF is coming soon, I think $5-10M from being fully funded. The new UHealth medical building is just getting finished up, The Frosts just donated another $100M after the Music building got finished up which will add to the STEM@UM. Obviously the Ibis Village was just announced and looks like its gunna be legit.

Facilities will no longer be an achilles heel.

You realize when Rumph was at AH, he bashed Miami. Now he's attempting to recruit for Miami.

He might be a good corner coach, but he sucks at recruiting.

This sh*t right here. ^^^ Miami hired this cat after he spent all that time sending kids away from the UM program. Parents aren't stupid. The kids might be but I know I'd have a hard time sending my kids off to play for a dude that spent all that time bashing. I'm cool with him coaching but for God sakes get someone in there to help him recruit some DBs. He's clearly in over his head lol.

He helped in getting Herbert. Was primed to land Henderson and Edwards and they flaked out

Makes it that much scarier. Holy ****. Arizona State.

CHise, you're the baddest **** on this site but I'm going to say this anyway even though I know you already know this. There's no way in **** we should be sending a black man that uses the phrase "flake out" to the shark infested battle ground of South Florida to recruit. No **** way.

LOL. Rumph was standing there in a tucked in golf shirt into pleated chinos and a belt in one of his photos with a recruit. Dude looked like Carlton from Fresh Prince. I knew we was in trouble right then and there. I could almost hear the 1970s Jim Croce Easy Listening music in the background looking at that pic.

Then, we got Brown in pleated chinos with a bright orange blouse-like puffy shirt and church shoes that my mom made we wear in 1980. Every other word out of his mouth is a bible verse. I'm down with God, but holy **** give it a break, cutty.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I liked how he blamed their parents
It's true though... Rumph does deserve blame because it's his job to close & get the parents on his side, that's what recruiting is... The ability to sell sand to a beach, to convince parents that their best bet is with you no matter what.

However in this case, Parents seem to have raised young men who don't stick to their word & are selfish prima donnas...

Both of these kids told this staff multiple times that were going to commit & did so literally days before NSD, even though both had no intention of honoring their word.

My pops would never stand for no **** like that, he would never allow me to get away with being a bold faced liar like that... He would go upside my head & tell me to be straight with both staff recruiting me, "Pick one Son, and be honest with them.."

This whole ordeal would've been over with a long time ago if those kids just picked where they wanted to go & stop wasting our staff's time in trying to win them over, but these two were so damned attention starved that they played endless games with us for months.

We could've been spending time on other CB's rather than going all out for both of those two little ingrates who were simply bull****tin us the whole time.

The staff should've been smarter & recognized what these kids were doing, they needed to be more aggressive & force these kids to show their hand, we needed to call them on their bluff & we never did... Our poker players on staff ain't cut like that yet.

Hopefully, they learn from this situation & don't fall for the bull**** again in 2018... Because it's gonna happen again, guarantee it, we just better wise up & let these kids know off rip we ain't having that ****.

Agree with this, we were aggressive with gibson about his BS though

Who really did the better job?
What position group played the best out of these 3 this year? Cb.. then running back and then safety
Rumph
4star Bandy
4star Dean (Banda helped too)
Helped get Herbert too
Had cj Henderson(told uf and Miami coaches he was coming to Miami within the last week)

Banda
4star/3star on most sites) Carter
Smith
Lost Edwards(silently committed last week)
Brown
3star Robert burns
Had 4star committed until maryland guilted him into staying home.

Yet y'all idolize Banda recruiting ability.. look everyone needs to improve but just attacking rumph and brown is ridiculous.

Only the fake *** UM fans are the ones screaming for Rumph to be fired all year.... Which is at least half of this board lol u know how y'all clowns are.

not even i can defend this ****...

sorry, rumph, i tried! you own your own bruh

I liked how he blamed their parents

Parents need to do a better job of parenting. This kind of behavior at 17 or 18 years old often reflects the person's character. As a parent, you have to work your *** off to mold that character, and when they do something that's not right you make sure you take control of the situation.

I've had folks tell me that they let their kids do whatever they want - it's their life and they need to learn to deal with the consequences. That's just a flat out wrong approach to take. Parent the **** out of them and watch them make the right decisions. When they make the wrong ones you let them fail and have them learn from it. In my view, when you flake out on a commitment like this at the end of the recruiting cycle there is potentially a character flaw there. It won't bode well for them in the future professionally.

I feel really bad for him but I have to admit I'm not crazy about his responses.

He sounds like he has very little confidence. Since this is written, and not video, its hard to be sure, but at least the wording sounds like a lack of self-confidence.

If I were him, I would have responded about the two kids that didn't sign as follows: "I really don't want to talk about people that don't come here, I want to talk about the people that ARE here and that will make the University of Miami better, I'm not worried about anybody else". Leave it at that.

Striking a defiant and confident tone is what I would have done, but that's me. Apparently, he has a different personality and was being honest and introspective.

It's been my experience that for people that are going to be led, like recruits, they respond much better to self-assured and confident people.

Something to keep an eye on.

Buck up, coach Rumph. They're not here, fūck 'em.

The fact that he called those two gator facquits to see what he did wrong tells me he's lost. They lied to him the whole time, but he expects them to be honest now? They'll just tell him something stupid or blame it on the fans or something dumb.

That was the part I disliked the most. It's like asking your woman why she ****ed another dude and what can you do better in the future so it won't happen again.WTF who cares why **** them.He sounds naive and clueless and I can see why kids don't respect him and flat out lie to his face.Brown seems to be very similar,Richt needs to look into this or we'll be losing more recruits next year when every team comes in hard after all the skill position talent in SF.

That's exactly how it came off. "Honey, when I walked in and saw that dude with his dyck crammed down your throat and you making puking sounds with your eyes watering is that what you really like? Why didn't you just tell me that's what you wanted?"

GOAT post. The imagery was vivid.

We had them kids in the bag and they flaked out. Can't fault him or the staff for that. Very candid interview. Rumph kept it 1000 about the situation. It is what it is

WTF are you talking about? Can't fault him? Jesus Christ you're a ******.

Mods?

This snitch calling for the mods after saying this in this same thread:

Fake mfs man smh

Meanwhile Bork has reported me more than anyone else.

Admitting you have a problem is step #1. Acknowledging that in Sp Fla the parents might not be involved much, if at all is step #2. Selling yourself and the program is step #3.

He's a salesman now and has to learn how to sell it. I think he's a low key guy from what I can tell. Not sure his dry personality works in recruiting. On radio interviews he sounds like Ben Stein in those eyedrop commercials.
