We reported yesterday on the boards that we were beginning to feel extremely confident that Chip Kelly would be the guy based on info we were hearing and that the two sides were pretty much on the same page when it came to everything he'd need to make the program successful.
The one thing potentially holding things up appeared to be making sure Kelly doesn't void his buyout money from the NFL based on the wording of his contracts. That's taken time to sift through, but everything should be good to go there.
At this point, we have a handful of sources indicating that Florida and Kelly or his reps are meeting this afternoon. We believe that meeting is to get Kelly to sign off on the agreement, making this thing official.

There's also absolutely no way his agent doesn't already know exactly what that contract says in regards to that. Maybe if he just got fired but he's been out a full season. He knows. Throwing **** at the wall

Does it really matter? People forget we have a top 10, maybe even top 5 coaching staff in the country.

We will ******* smoke them in 2019, whether Kelly or Saban is the coach.
 
It'll certainly be interesting to see how he does at UF.

PAC 12 plays no defense. SEC is a bit different.

Can't wait to play em.

I work with a bunch of bull gators, unfortunately. But him and Bianchi, especislly Bianchi, are still friendly with the ol ball coach and know what is going on to a degree.
 
Until I ask Siri who the Head Football Coach of the Florida Gators is and she answers "Chip Kelly," put me in the doubters column...All she says now is "Sorry, I don't know about that league"

Alexa is even worse; she still says its still Jim Shark Screwer Maceltooth!

Don't know how anyone can say UCLA's not going to pay that money. Every big time school (which UCLA fits the mold) will go out and pay for a big time hire should it come along. That's what boosters are for. Chip Kelly knows he'll thrive in the Pac-12 and UCLA knows they'll need to open the check book if they want relevance considering USC looks like they're climbing their way back up the cfb ladder.
 
UCLA has a $280M apparel deal. They can sign any coach on the planet if they wanted to.

Even as broke as Under Armour is they'd pony up any extra cash needed to get that deal done to get UCLA back to a power university.

dude, they are ponying up to do the buyout and get a big name coach. It may not be kelly but it won’t be money issue. You can keep saying it all you want but it’s just not true. They have big money involved this time, and guys like Aikman and Wasserserman (google it) involved.
