Robert Burns could have a damien berry type season

Say it again. Have to play him. If he goes down oh well. Does noting if he just sits on the bench. We have the depth. He should get the full 4th quarter of lots of our games this year. Maybe full 2nd half.

OP didnt berry play half of the season with a torn ACl or MCL or something like that? Burns nowhere near as tough mane, stauying injury free is a talent that this guy doesnt have. This coming from a guy who creamed over him. That run against Booker T his sophomore year was one of the best Ive ever seen and unfortunately his 10th grade year was the last year that he wasnt hurt

Let's not forget about our OLine

O Line is irrelevant when you have a talent like Burns in the backfield (provided he’s healthy, has learned new techniques from Feeley that will keep him from ever getting injured again, and lives up to his HS sophomore highlight reel). Please try and keep up.

Don’t get too seduced by a couple quotes about him. He needs to prove he can make it through fall practice. He hasn’t played football in what seems like 5 years now.

Berry showed up. Nobody expected him to. If burns stays healthy he's going to be an excellent back. People sleep on him due to injuries. They forget he was coveted. Time could be now young champion.
When healthy he was an absolute beast.

4.4 is straight line though....can he wiggle and cutt at that size is the issue.
His HS tape(all 34 seconds of it) showed that he can indeed cut. Burns is a one cut and go type back that is more athletic than most give him credit for. 4.4 speed at 230lbs is freakish. Unfortunately for Burns his career has been derailed by injuries up to this point. If that streak of injuries was just bad luck and Burns is not made of glass then he will have the opportunity to develop and show what he can do. I would like nothing more for Burns to stay healthy and prove people wrong. I'll be pulling for the kid.

Berry was arguably the the 1st string running back and Burns is riding 3rd and then 4th when Lingard comes back but ya who knows.
Burns is our biggest back. He brings a different dimension to the game. Kid is running 4.5 forty at 230 lbs. Forget about the depth chart. If healthy, he's going to have an important role in short yardage and goal line. If he shows out when called on (ie, turning short yardage plays into big runs), he'll get more carries.

And... the jinx is on.

Can't wait to see the injury report tomorrow where it says Burns's leg detached from his body.
If he gets into a game you'll probably see that happen on the field. No need for an injury report.

Berry ran with reckless abandon, loved his style. Of Burns can turn into that great for us.
For sure, loved watching that group and it could have been special with miller, berry, cooper if they all could have been more healthy

This feels like Trayon Gray all over again

Gray didn't play cause he simply wasn't any good. Burns has been injured.

I am very excited to see what he's got in a game. All reports are that he's been impressive this fall. We will nedd him at some point so I am very hopeful as all Canes should be.
