Richt Post Game comment

I don't disagree with any of that and there are clearly issues that need to be resolved, but I'm not going to discount the whole season and the progress that was made just because we lost a game to an obviously much better team that everyone and their brother said was going to beat us.

I also don't think we were flat or unmotivated, sometimes you're just not as good.
The sting of getting our asses kicked the last two weeks will take a while to wear off, but I anticipate a much better team to take the field for the OB. A win there and an 11-2 finish and I'm good.

Were we not as good against Pitt? Or again were we flat and unmotivated. Our offense has looked bad and regressed from last season. Our defense improved.

I am not discounting the season, I am saying there are obvious and real issues that need to get fixed.

Did everyone and their brother say we would get raped and not put up a fight?

As another poster pointed out, the QB is inaccurate and the OL is inconsistent. This exponentially increases the chance of failure against any team, at any snap. To say this team did not put up a fight is very unfair. The offense left 3-14 points on the field in the first quarter because of the kicker and an inaccurate QB and an inconsistent OL.

We shouldnt get blown out the way we did

were missing talent dont get me wrong but we have alot of kids playing in the NFL soon enough

While I agree, Except for OSU-Wisc., every P5 championship game yesterday was a blow out. Every less talented team lost and lost big.

Miami has good enough players to put up a respectable showing against Clemson

Miami has good enough players to not get pushed around by Pitt

Miami has good enough players to comfortably beat mediocre teams

I love the end result of this season. The 10-2 record and NYD bowl is a definite progress but there are other issues besides talent. Just getting better players didn't work for him at Georgia.

The take above is the Elephant in the Room that many
will ignore! Richt had tons of talent on those Georgia teams and don’t win
a chip

Playing 11 straight weeks without our three best offensive players, you can't really be that surprised by the result.
If Rosier doesn't under throw the long ball with a wide open Thomas and if he doesn't get mugged trying to make the catch, then we have a better showing IMO, the snowball began at that point.

After we got the muffed punt recovery and the offense failed to do anything with it by not moving the ball and missing the field goal, then Malek Young failing to fall on the fumble, it felt like the snowball was huge and had a full set of steam downhill. That was a 10 point swing. At the game it never looked like the team had any energy after that.

And the part about Pitt?

And the part about our offense regressing from last season?

Wha about Pitt? I’m not sure what that has to do with anything this point. All I know is all season some pretty good teams had some pretty bad losses. Clemson, UGA, *st etc. We crapped the bed point blank, as for the offense, three big weapons all missing and an erratic QB, at best.

When Herndon, Walton, Jackson, Richards and Bandy are all out?

People really over estimate the depth of talent on this team.

I agree with this, but at the same time, Wisconsin has 6 4 or 5 * recruits to Miami's 36 and Alabama's 69. Wisconsin played a highly competitive game against OSU.

I was at the game and the difference in talent was plainly evident. We finished the year 10-2 and a Orange Bowl invite - in year 2 of the Richt era after 14 years of Clapper, Radio, and Grolden. The loss hurt but we are finally moving in the right direction.

Missing best rb, best wr and best te - those are the only experienced guys from the o that play on Sunday

He said it several times last year and this year, that we were a good team not a great team. We don't have depth and the talent isn't there at enough positions.

I got down voted and called not a fan because I was skeptical of Rosier when he was named the starter. Like I said back then, if Richt thought the guy was good enough he wouldn't have been talking about waiting on Perry, he would have just kept his mouth shut. Dude was basically undecided between Evan and Rosier, that should tell you all you need to know. Richt has been honest from the beginning.

They always have one of the top offense lines every year. Our OL needs a lot more depth.

Perry was a true freshmen coming in, and the rest of the QB's on the team sUck! So Richt was left with a suspect QB, whom helped Miami get to 10 wins this season. May be Miami will get that much needed 11th win in the bowl game!

when he got here, he is so many words tried to say are roster was not that good. remember his "wheres the miami speed?" comment.

And you believed em'?...LOL

We had a freak in Njoku...speed with Coley & Richards...depth at RB.

And during the 4 game losing streak, His RB coach had the nerve to ***** & gripe about lack of depth at RB or some $h!t, but this year our starter goes down and we have to make a 200# RB the workhorse.

We could've gone 10-1 last year if Richt was as accountable as He was this year.

Tough game. Undermanned at the offensive skill positions with a limited QB who has basically been a gamer all year but doesn’t have the requisite skill set needed to be dominant. Factor that in with a team with no experience playing in any big games, limited depth, and breaks that just didn’t go our way tonight, and you have a recipe for a blowout against a team that has very little weaknesses.

We need to keep stacking classes, great player upon great player, and focus on building great Olines and Dlines.

We’d be very fortunate if we could get back our juniors, especially on defense.

And it's not like our juniors are world-beaters. I don't even know if Walton will be an outstanding NFL player--he was an effective player for us but seemed to have limitations. McIntosh? I don't know how well his game translates into the NFL. Maybe with more spreads on offense and the need to get penetrating DTs, the NFL is changing as far as the kinds of DTs it will look for. This is an astute comment made by another poster in another thread.

I'm disappointed in the outcome of the game but it wasn't unexpected. We kept on dodging bullets all year, just a tenacious overachiever at QB played a great role in taking us to 10 wins. We met or exceeded expectations for the year. We finally beat FSU, even if we just squeaked by. I like the direction the program is going. I still think we're a year away--at least. Maybe two. We're still going to be chasing Clemson which has been stacking up depth and talent wall-to-wall.

I think the comments suggesting a need to change the DC are ridiculous. Let's see what Richt decides about other coaches.

As far as complaining about him never winning the big ones--let's see what he does when he dominates south Florida in recruiting. None of our other coaches who won NCs won them before they came to the U.
