Richt Post Game comment

Yep, we had only three very good players on offense. All three are out and this is what you get. I can’t blame Richt we just need more horses. The freshman WR’s everybody was excited about didn’t do **** this year. We need an offensive overhaul top to bottom.

our upperclassmen on the OL are horrible and lets be real, when your playing cager, dayall, and langham at wr together, you're not going to put up numbers on the elite teams. Jeff Thomas struggled because he was a freshman trying to do too much but at least he has the talent. jt and harley badly need to hit that weight room though.

We need more players. How hard is it to understand that simple concept? We basically played with ONE RB, ONE WR, NO TE and a QB that had played all season above expectations. So when CMR says we need more players he is spot on. We get a nice influx of quality players next year. Two more recruiting classes and we should be ready.

when he got here, he is so many words tried to say are roster was not that good. remember his "wheres the miami speed?" comment.

Playing 11 straight weeks without our three best offensive players, you can't really be that surprised by the result.
If Rosier doesn't under throw the long ball with a wide open Thomas and if he doesn't get mugged trying to make the catch, then we have a better showing IMO, the snowball began at that point.

Yes an inaccurate qb plus losing Walton and basically have a Richards at 50 percent

Is that why we came out flat and unmotivated?

Is that why we lost to Pitt (because Herndon and Richards played in that game, at least part of it)?

Is this why we struggled against teams that didn't make bowl games (Pitt, Cuse, UNC and GT)?

During ACC play, is that why are team scored less points and gained less yards than in 2016?

Malik Rosier was our starting qb answers every question you asked. He was winning(really our defense was gift wrapping field position)so we couldn’t take him out but his inaccuracies caught up with him and cost us the last two games. Richt saw it coming and tried to warn us we just played really well vs vt and Notre Dame so everyone forgot how bad he was. Just interested I’m sure we gave up a lot less points in acc play as well? We also didn’t make the championship game last year so one more game especially a 38 point beat down probably skews those numbers.

Got it. Our offense regressed from last year because of Malik and only Malik.

Brad Kaaya 13 Games in 2016: 3532 Passing Yards, 62% Completion %, 27 TDs and 7 INTs, 1 Rushing TD

Malik Rosier 12 Games in 2017: 2917 Passing Yards, 55% Completion $, 25 TDs and 11 INTs, 427 Rushing Yards and 5 Rushing TDs

- Our offense scored more TDs with Malik (30 v. 28, keep in mind Malik has another game)
- Our offensive production via our QB has 200 yards less. Keep in mind Kaaya's stats are through 13 games and Malik's are through 12.

I am not a big fan of Malik. I am not a fan of this offense. There are real and obvious issues throughout the whole offense.

Not having Walton for half the season and Richards playing at 50 percent were huge factors. But we LOST games because of rosier not making throws most college qbs should make. We WON some games with his pocket presence and being able to roll out and pick up yards when nothing was there which kayaa could not do. He scored touchdowns with his legs doing this hence the more tds also opened up the running game for homer. Linebackers had to play honest. But when we played good teams that could spy the qb or stack the box and make rosier throw he played okay sometimes and the last two weeks he crumbled.

Rosier inconsistency playing the position eventually caught up with us and lack of depth and losing playmakers. If you bytch about this season there is something the matter with you. Take a step back and think about it. No one thought rosier would ever play here you have to play hand you are dealt Richt is getting his guys and has a great tract record with evaluating and developing qbs. Be patient this year is just gonna Make it happens faster bc the recruits believe in Richt.

i dont think waltons makes a huge difference because he would have been running into the same wall homer did.

We had enough talent not get blowed out. Did ncstate or Boston College get beat like this? No....

Richt is right in terms of we have some talented guys but definitely need more. This team had 0 depth to start and then injuries took their toll.

We’re bringing in great to elite talent as evidenced by our true freshmen (Richts first full class). They didn’t play well last night against the #1 team in the country but Storm18 and Surge19 will build on it.

JT
DJ
Donaldson
Garvin
Carter
Smith

All made impacts this year and this staff has shown they can develop guys.

We got the train back on the tracks and it’s headed in the right direction.

i was excited by what i saw from derek smith, amari carter, and Deejay, they didnt look overwhelmed by the moment and they look like fast. JT i wont get too upset with because he was just trying too hard. it can happen with a freshmen but the kid gets open. he should have his head up dugans and felders butt all offseason to improve because there is no reason he should not be all acc next year.

He is right. We don’t have enough depth.

Bottom line is our OL is trash and Rosier is not the caliber QB required to win a Natty.

Believe it or not, I think we are competitive against Clemson last night with Kaaya. That incomplete pass to Thomas is a TD with Kaaya in.

all year i dont think people realize how much pressure rosier has faced because of his running ability. im glad perry redshirted, he would have taken a beating this year.

Miami has good enough players to put up a respectable showing against Clemson

Miami has good enough players to not get pushed around by Pitt

Miami has good enough players to comfortably beat mediocre teams

I love the end result of this season. The 10-2 record and NYD bowl is a definite progress but there are other issues besides talent. Just getting better players didn't work for him at Georgia.

Don't need to look much further than QB play.
Clemson is better than we are.
No coach wins with the overall way we performed last night.

Not trying to be a jerk but is there a point to seriously respond to this porst?

I am blaming everyone, you seem to think this was 100% on Rosier. No mention of Richt (other then recruiting).

I am sure you compared the production of Walton (2016) to Homer (2017). In addition, I am sure you added in Rosier’s production with his legs into that equation. BTW, I am not saying losing Walton was good (it ***ing sucks), I am just asking if you did an analysis production-wise.

Is your porst serious?

We shouldnt get blown out the way we did

were missing talent dont get me wrong but we have alot of kids playing in the NFL soon enough

how many of our seniors and juniors will make an impact in nfl? seriously.
Agreed

We have no offensive line and absolutely zero push.

So then you ask a decent, not great, QB like Rosier to beat one of the best defenses on the nation when they know that there is no threat to run the ball

We haven't been able to run all year, offensive line needs huge upgrade this summer

He told us earlier in the year "that we aren't there yet."

He basically begged cane fans to temper our expectations. But we rarely listen (well some of us do).

I listened. I knew we were losing that game. I think if Herdon and Richards played we lose it by what I thought ( 10-14 pts) but because our 2 playmakers ( along with Berrios) were gone our O was gone. If you don't understand this team had a great season you are an idiot. I wish we had lost 34-21 not 38-3 but a loss is a loss and in 3 seasons when Miami is Clemson this will just be a building block we look back on. Not mad in the least. We will be a preseason top 4 team .

Tough game. Undermanned at the offensive skill positions with a limited QB who has basically been a gamer all year but doesn’t have the requisite skill set needed to be dominant. Factor that in with a team with no experience playing in any big games, limited depth, and breaks that just didn’t go our way tonight, and you have a recipe for a blowout against a team that has very little weaknesses.

We need to keep stacking classes, great player upon great player, and focus on building great Olines and Dlines.

We’d be very fortunate if we could get back our juniors, especially on defense.

Wush, you're one of my favorite posters going back to the grassy days. I agree we need to "stack classes" but wouldn't it be nice if (as a fan) we could at least COMPETE in games like this; and through scheming put ourselves in a position to win games. It's like we NEVER have the schematic advantage VS. equal/more talented teams. Never mind it seems lesser teams CONTINUALLY have the schematic advantage vs. us?

I'm not naive enough to think that we have a roster chalked full of 2 deep NFL draft picks. We do have depth issues, however, we have PLENTY of NFL talent on this roster (as future NFL rosters will prove as they have over the past 15 years).

I like Richt and appreciate that he's more "engaged" as a head coach heavily involved in the offensive gameplanning/calling/scheming. An engaged Richt is good for the program I feel. I do concede that he is AT BEST an average offensive mind.

I like Diaz as well, however, IMO he's been out "game planned" in almost every game this year. What I mean by that, is it ALWAYS seems like he's a step behind to start the game and is forced to scratch and claw our way back into it. He makes good adjustments but his pre-game planning is atrocious imo.

What's the answer? I have no idea.

It would be great to compete for National Championships EVERY year, not just when our roster is 2 deep with NFL talent.

We've had a good year but I don't think there is any GUARANTEE that this staff has what it takes to get us over the hump.

Truth and it is getting the upgrade. The LSU transfer is starter from day 1 and we have a few great recruits coming in as well. We need depth at LB , RB and OL and we need stars at OL . It is coming in our top 3 class. The future is bright but it is th future.

its the truth

Richt: "We've got a lot of good players. We need more of 'em."

https://twitter.com/mattyports/status/937183058544951296

He ain’t lyin’!

Both side of the trenches got manhandled. Secondary looked small, slow and weak compared to theirs. We need more top skill position players. Malik needs a lot of work. Hope to God that Perry is ready to challenge him in the Spring.

Both RJ and Norton need to come back for their Senior years. Maybe RJ would be a mid round selection but Norton’s not ready.

Most of all, we need to be more physical. Need to be stronger. They pushed us around like we were a DII team.

Good thing is we know we can hang with the Top 10 teams, but the playoff teams are on another level. We’re not there yet.

I expected the N.C. and that remains my expectation. That said, this has been the most exciting year in over a decade and for that I am immensely grateful. The team and staff gave us a great year with huge hope for next year. I expect to beat osu or Bama or osu in the Orange Bowl game. Team and staff might not quite be there yet, but ND game showed that the fans are and will be waiting for them.
