Richt Extended

Not trolling.

Apparently you have a hard time distinguishing your musings from reality.

Nothing you say is fact, they’re just your mental projections. Guesses about what another staff might do with the same players.

A different coaching staff would still be using the same roster riddled with injuries to their playmakers and spent from playing ten straight games without a break.

It was a team loss to Clemson that can be laid on the players, coaches, and all involved, but to think a different staff could have squeezed more blood from that turnip is delusional. You weren’t paying attention last season, we’re you?

Yes, you're trolling or just obtuse as ****.

Yes, it is most certainly an opinion that another staff could have gotten more out of themselves and the players that day. That or its a mathematical certainty and I'm going with that.

You would have to believe that we have the best staff in the world. We clearly don't for a plethora of reasons, but they have the potential to be good to great possibly.

You would have to believe that we had the best game plan possible (yet even a smart fellow like you has been known to question various aspects of this staff and their playcalling) that any coach could dream up. That right there is readily dismissed by other schools scoring more on Clemson than we did.

You would also have to surmise that everyone on the team gave maximum effort. That at the end of the game they had nothing left.

Facts, you want to stick with that, then please never log in again. What a lame *** attempt to prove your point.

Clemson is / was a very good team. We had a bad game to say the least. Nothing we did seemed to matter and they played like they knew what was coming before it did. They did their homework and outcoached this staff by a wide margin.

No rest, lamest excuse that came out around these parts to excuse in part the dismal end to the season.

Do you think Richt and company just shrugged their shoulders with their arms up in the and said we needed rest, nothing more we could have done, and **** the injuries? Please, if they did, fire them all now. We both know that's not the case. So yes, another staff could've done more and so could this staff.

It's going to take at least FIVE (5) years before this team is elite. Sorry, but that's the way it is when a coach is hired to fix a stinking mess like the one Golden left us. It took Butch that long and it took Howard even longer to build this program. Richt has done quite well with the limitations he has had with this team. Patience.

Agreed. Look, Richt is a major upgrade from what we've seen. And for those saying "He'll never win a National Championship", I say to at least admit that he's going to leave the next guy with a stacked roster. You know...like UGA?

So the right decision is to let the guys contract run out so recruits don’t know if he’ll be there when they turn juniors

I just want clarity. Do we want kids to commit to coaches, school, or both? Depending on the day, this seems to change around here.

It’s weird how Urban Meyer still has a job after losing 31-0 to Clemson. Maybe sometimes the team with deeper recruiting, more seniors, healthier team, with championship experience just wins the game.

Rational fans know how to accept that and move on.

Meyer has a bit more juice than Richt so would say and thus more leeway.

Nobody is saying fire Richt, but this is about an extension. Wrong time for me, that's all.

Dabo is a pretty damned good coach in his own right, but that might be tough for most to admit since most of the people who post here were saying he was a schill not long ago.

Clemson was the better team, better prepared, and that was Meyer's worst loss ever, with Iowa earlier in thr year there as well. Both by 31 points and oddly enough, he has 31 losses in his career. He still should've had a better showing, he said as much.

Prove it.

You can’t.

You’re arguing a hypothetical. Case closed. You have no argument.

You’re also arguing that another staff MIGHT have squeezed an extra score out of our offense. MAYBE. But we still lose. They still win comfortably. That doesn’t change. EVER.

You look so stupid it isn't even funny.

Prove what 90 percent of the board posts. Welcome to the internet and you'll be quite busy policing it

There's no question our offense has sucked under Richt. Whether you blame Rosier, injuries, or whatever....it's still on him. You're darn right another staff could squeeze more out just as other opponents did against Clemson.

You're right, we still lose. I said that from the jump. You really should work on your reading comprehension, but as I have previously said, whatever you say is the only thing that matters as nothing goes in that empty void.

You can't chage history? Now that my friend and truly mind blowing and quite the revelation.

You love chasing your own tail. It’s hilarious to watch you and the couple of other malignant Richt haters with post after post of Richt hate posting made up fantasies about what other coaches would do in made up fantasy situations.

As if that proves anything.

A complete exercise in stupidity.

If we hired Butch and he had the same results in year two I wonder if anyone would be upset at the extension

He may look stupid but you are being stupid.

Richt and the staff squeezed just about as much as ANYONE could with a roster of 73 players, no true qb, along with the injuries suffered last season, in getting 10 wins. But you focusing on one game, when you admit we would have lost that game anyway, is asinine.

Are you familiar with statistics? The standard error in analyzing the score or outcome of one football game is huge. The exact same teams of players and staphs could play a week before or a week after and small things like a completed pass to Jeff Thomas or a few different penalty calls can completely change how a game looks. Let alone different coaches. You have to make so many assumptions and guesses it is not even remotely scientific or based in any reality at all its just...stupid.

And again, it was pretty obvious that Clemson was just a better team and the outcome would have been the same. But don't be such a pansy about it and just accept that we were not on Clemson's level last year. But we are coming.

I would take Richt over Botch. Most overrated dude on the planet by this fan base.

I just don't see a reason to extend the dude when he had multiple years left and crapped the bed at the end of season.

Did we extend our own John Cooper or can Richt get over the hump before he retires his clipboard? Good man, hoping for the best, but I still have a lot of questions about where he and his staff can take us.

I Will say what I said in the WEZ when this story came out. You don’t extend a coach especially one that is in the twilight of his coaching career, especially when you had another 2-3 years to negotiate if all went well. Same stupid *** mistake they made with the previous three coaches.
