Richt Extended

With Richt we’ll have very good teams, but we’ll never be elite. You’ll never see Miami playing in the national title game with Richt S head coach. Never! He’s just not that dude.

We will be like Richts UGA teams or like Ohio State was under John Cooper. In fact, Richt and John Cooper are near clones of each other. Can’t win the big game

You will either be right or you will be wrong but the decision to extend needed to be made now. Not on Monday morn.

VaTech and ND last year were little games.

You’re so right. Those don’t count. Let’s just forget about them.

Miami has had good recruiting classes without MR as the head coach. How high did they typically rank when they were winning or playing for titles? Let's not go overboard before you even see his classes come to fruition.

I don't have a personal vendetta against him, I just didn't like him as the head coach. It's that simple.

In you’re last few rants you’ve shown that you’re stuck in 1980. In one post you mentioned that we won national championships without an IPF. That’s quite true but back in those days nobody had IPF’s and our football facilities weren't so far behind the national standards.

Now you’ve mentioned recruiting rankings from back then when recruiting rankings weren’t even a thing. The whole nation wasn’t recruiting out of our back yard in those decades.

The word has changed my friend. Welcome to 2018.

Original ****tt ****t ****t couldn't be further from the truth.

Why would I be ****ed about something everybody could see coming as soon as Miami beat a bad FSU team? This extension was going to happen no matter what I, or anybody else said.

You seem to not be able to compartmentalize issues. I don't like Mark as the head coach here. That doesn't automatically give it a nexus with other on going issues with the team. Some it does, some it doesn't.

We can revisit this extension after he puts out an inferior product this year as it relates to last year. He get's his extension and will immediately follow that up with a 2-3 place finish in the division. But golly, he's a great guy.
It's going to take at least FIVE (5) years before this team is elite. Sorry, but that's the way it is when a coach is hired to fix a stinking mess like the one Golden left us. It took Butch that long and it took Howard even longer to build this program. Richt has done quite well with the limitations he has had with this team. Patience.

I think Smart would’ve gotten us to the playoffs, but I don’t think we would’ve won it. He beats Clemson in the ACCCG

Are you slow? Smart and Richt are virtually the same coach with almost identical records the past two years. Smart also did exactly what Richt did his first two years at Georgia.

Smart wouldn’t have gotten us anywhere near the playoffs. Not a fit for Miami.

“He ((Smart) beats Clemson in the ACCCG” is one of the most delusional posts ever. I don’t care who the coach is for that game, unless you swapped out some players, we weren’t beating Clemson. Just dumb.

No, I don't believe we best Clemson that day.
I will say there are a lot of coaching staffs that would've made it a far more competitive game than our sad *** three point performance. The entire staff really corched it up that day and the final three games of the year.

Where would the offense come from against Clemson?

And you are so sure of this how?

It’s amazing how people project a purely hypothetical situation and turn it into indisputable fact to fit their agenda, which in this case is to slam the staff by any means necessary.

Not from Richt or Diaz's (who corched up an even worse game) playbook obviously.

I guess we should've just forfeited those games since we were missing some players. It's funny how we give our coaches a pass on those instances, but it's just a bull**** excuse when another team loses key contributors and we best them.

Extension, well deserved.

You've gotta be trolling.

Three points, three....that's the best any coach can muster?

What about the defense? That's the best they can do?

Preparation for this game was as bad as it gets. Those boys weren't ready physically or mentally for that game and the resulting beat down showed it.

It’s weird how Urban Meyer still has a job after losing 31-0 to Clemson. Maybe sometimes the team with deeper recruiting, more seniors, healthier team, with championship experience just wins the game.

Rational fans know how to accept that and move on.

This narrative is so untrue, it's a joke. What Coker left Shannon, and what Shannon in turn left Golden were grease fires. Golden, for all his flaws, left Richt a team worth a ****. You don't start your second season off 10-0 with multiple convincing wins over top 15 teams unless you have a team worth a crap. What Richt was able to do was to get these underachieving guys to buy into a bit of discipline, and because he has a track record of success at a major level, these kids bought in. Golden was flawed, no one denies that, but he did clear a lot of wreckage left behind by Shannon/Coker.

Frankly, Golden's tenure was the bridge Miami needed in order to get a guy like Richt to sign on. You needed a guy to get the ball rolling, the only problem was that Golden was too stupid(Or loyal) to realize that awful hires like D'Onofrio and Coley were going to sink him, and they ended up doing just that. That said, you can't with a straight face look at Golden the same way you look at Coker and Shannon. Then again, we are dealing with people who lack the sense to understand nuance, and think that there's only two type of coaches on planet earth: Genuises, and Idiots.

Apparently you have a hard time distinguishing your musings from reality.

Nothing you say is fact, they’re just your mental projections. Guesses about what another staff might do with the same players.

A different coaching staff would still be using the same roster riddled with injuries to their playmakers and spent from playing ten straight games without a break.

It was a team loss to Clemson that can be laid on the players, coaches, and all involved, but to think a different staff could have squeezed more blood from that turnip is delusional. You weren’t paying attention last season, we’re you?
