Rhett Lashlee or Kendall Briles?

I’ll meet you halfway and say he likely will need to make changes on the defensive side moving forward, but right now the defense is very successful. The biggest concern in regards to the defensive staff is their ongoing struggle to recruit top talent, Banda is the only coach to prove his ability

I agree on recruiting...but some game day decisions have left me perplexed too.

You gotta cut this out. He literally played behind some of the worst offensive lines in FBS. Akers has a ton of talent. He would’ve easily been the most talented guy we’ve had since Duke.
He has talent but still overhyped. I’m not going to give someone hype they shouldn’t have because of what they were ranked in highschool especially since they didn’t exactly dominate college at any particular moment in their career and was closer to an average rb than an elite one. But that’s just me.

To my knowledge, Lashlee didn't look the other way as his players raped coeds, and his douchebag boss covered it up by leaning on women that had been assaulted, so he is significantly better than Briles. Briles should have gotten the crap kicked out of him for how he behaved, how he lacked the balls to stand up for what was right. Then again, he's Art's son so the douche doesn't fall far from the tree.

Lashlee has King, who has a track record of success, and a good defense to help. Briles had neither

King also has a track record of failure if used incorrectly. See his 4 games last season. Lashlee is going to have to get it right:

PFF said:
There were high hopes in 2019 with King and Houston in the first season under Holgorsen, but the passing attack was shockingly poor. Houston went from 14th in EPA per pass with King starting in 2018 (Weeks 1 through 12) to 77th with King in his four starts in 2019. King’s negatively graded throw rate nearly doubled from 2018 to 2019 and was so high that it eclipsed his positively graded throw rate, which would have been the fourth-worst in college football had he qualified.

Again, it's a small sample, but it was obvious Holgorsen’s Air Raid offense wasn’t for King. As PFF’s Seth Galina said in an earlier article, King wasn’t necessarily great in those Air Raid formations, even in his 2018 breakout year. Seth mentions how the successes of King’s 2018 season are a result of Run N’ Shoot concepts

Edit:

When Lashlee wanted to pass the ball, he did it from doubles open or trips open 46% of the time. King wasn’t outstanding in these spread Air Raid formations, even in his breakout 2018 campaign. He was, however, lights out running the modern Run N’ Shoot concepts he was given that year in Houston. Of King’s 16 big-time throws from outside the red zone on straight dropbacks, 12 were on seven-man protection play-action shots down the field.

If Lashlee can move away from Air Raid and become a little more Run N’ Shoot, King could regain his 2018 form and Miami could be on their way in the ACC.

Even if Lashlee and Briles are the exact same, King is the deciding factor. Fsu just had terrible Qb play and an O-line?

Other then rb you might be right! Akers flashed a lil bit behind that bad oline!

Cam is an average back with good speed and good hands. I compare him to Leon Washington.

2019 Cam against good to great Defenses:

UVA / Good D: 18 carries for 78 yards 4.3 yards a carry

NC State / Average D: 17 carries for 83 yards 4.9 yards a carry

Clemson / Great D: 9 for 34 3.8 yards a carry

Miami / Great D: 22 for 66 3.0 yards a carry LOL

Boston College / Average D: 18 for 59 3.3 yards a carry

His one big game against a good D in UF he had 102 yards. DJ dallas also had a pretty good game against them.

All his big games came against ****** D's

2018 season:

Louisville: 17 for 42 4.2 yards a carry

Miami: 11 for 46 4.2 yards a carry

Clemson 11 for 7 LOL 0.6 yards a carry

NCState: 10 for 29 2.9 yards a carry

Notre Dame: 12 for 63 5.3 yards a carry. DJ Dallas killed Notre Dumb

UF 13 for 37 2.8 yards a carry

Akers was always overhyped IMO and will find it very hard to find space in the NFL.

Canecrazy23, i did say flashed a lil bit!

You did. I was just blown away when I looked at his numbers and compared it to what I heard from FSU fans. LOL
Canecrazy23, what you did should be a pre-resquite for posting on this board have your facts, numbers, info..etc ready to back up your post like you did f4 me. That can eliminate alot of bickering, fighting, hating on each other and were all grown men bickering like females!

Did you see the line Deejay Dallas ran behind last year? He managed 6.0 yards per carry. If he wasn’t splitting carries with Harris (who also averaged over 5 ypc) he would have easily surpassed Akers yardage.

That’s what I’ve been saying since he’s been in college, he’s at best average as **** and nothing what he’s hyped up to be period

Exactly!!

What do you think of the Leon Washington comparison?

FSU’s offensive line was definitely worse. They literally had the worst offensive in P5. I’m not trying to knock our guys, but Akers is talented as ****. Think he’s going to do well with the Rams.
