So then the obvious question...

If the admin was racist, and didn’t want a black coach to succeed, then why did they hire a black coach to begin with?

If you have to ask that question, you have a lot to learn!

It does matter what skin color they are. We have to advocate for our own interests, because if we left it to y'all we would be screwed

It. Does. Not. Matter

It didn’t matter to Jimbo who dominated this area , and doesn’t matter to Kirby, and it doesn’t matter to Dabo.

Stop trying to tell me about an area that I have friends that actually coach here in SFL and that I live in. We need guys that are going to tell these guys to shut up and don’t tell us who we need to offer. Seider(even though he’s not mentioned), Fedora, and Ponce will do that. Lamar Thomas if contacted for WR coach would do that..

We are talking about two different stakeholders. You're talking about um, Luke and I are talking about the black community

So do you think the overseers liked working with slaves? Also, that isn't entirely true. Often times the smaller operations had the owners working directly with the slaves. Even the bigger operations worked directly with the house slaves on a consistent basis.

****, you dont have to go back that far, just ask them how many Black people did nixion have working for him or how many are working in the current "white" house!

I didnt know they "worked" together??

They were out in the hot sun with the slaves on a regular basis giving orders. I would consider that working together.

Regardless, even if you don't like the analogy. Even the most adamant racists wouldn't turn down a multi million dollar salary just because they didn't like working with black people.

I am sure they do, but if the Cuban guy can graduate HS, save up money to go to college, and go to college he can then go and get a job as if he didn't grow up in those towns. The black man does the same thing and will always be seen as inferior and will not get the same jobs.

The Cubans in those towns are just
What indigent Cuban refugees faced when they started coming in the late '50's, early '60's was nothing like the barriers and disadvantages faced by African-Americans. When the Cuban kids came in they were placed in the segregated schools with other whites. The Blacks still had to go to segregated all-Black schools in Dade County. I'm sure those all-Black schools were inferior to the schools attended by whites.

I don't ever remember the kind of bigotry toward Cubans that was similar to the racist views I heard expressed by some whites toward Blacks.

When the first Cubans got here, the signs on many businesses said "no blacks, no cubans." We were an invasion though. We started overrunning the place and the white people picked up and left. That in turn has made it easier for other people from Central and South America here.

The black community? Dude I’m on a fan board for UM, not a social justice blog.

Its a terrible analogy because coaches like Diaz have spent years working for scraps while cutting their teeth before they started earning a good honest paycheck chasing the next best coaching gig climbing the ladder.

You dont work this kind of job/career choice if you don't love the kids and love football

A Cuban outside of South Florida is a Mexican. Ask any of those college students.

Guy was about to make a young Fran Brown his CO-DC. This is all stupidity at its finest.

Oh for sure. I am not arguing that point. I agree with you there. I want Rumph gone. I wanted Brown gone. I wanted Dugans gone. I want us to hire the 10 best guys regardless of race. If the 10 best assistants we can get are white I would be happy. If they are black I would be happy. I don't care. I just want to win.

I was just pointing out the absurdity that someone wouldn't get a job that forces you to work with black people just because they are racist. I am sure some real hillbilly racist guy would turn it down, but if someone was just a moderate racist or so. They wouldn't refuse to follow their passion and make millions just because of the color of his coworkers.

LMFAO. Lower middle class neighborhoods across the country have gangs and they try to keep the kids separated. You are beyond ignorant. Florida City averaged 1 murder a year for the past 10 years.

None of this matters. Those 2 guys you spoke to have no idea what they are talking about. The other poster summed it up nicely.

As a black man you are less likely to get hired for a job when you have the same qualification as a white man, foreigner, asian, etc. That is a fact.

You have to deal with getting wrongfully convicted of crimes. I too know MANY people serving sentences for something he never did. Police want to boost their conviction rate so they will arrest anyone in the area of the crime and plant evidence on them when given the opportunity. Even if you only get a year or 2 that still ruins your ability to get a good job.

I can go on and on and on about the differences, but these are just 2 quick ones.

I'm not going to go back and forth with you over the conversations I've had with people you've never met because their position does not fit your narrative.

That is BS even grad assistants get paid 45k+ which is a great salary for a graduate student. Obviously he wouldn't do it if he didn't love football, but he certainly could do it even if he didn't love the kids.

Cubans are not considered Mexicans everywhere outside of south Florida. They are in some places, but not everywhere. Even in the places they are though. Mexicans are treated better than Blacks.

That is fine. Continue to be brainwashed by 2 idiots who told you something that fit YOUR narrative. I hope you don't take everything someone tells you as pure fact. 2 guys that grew up in a lower middle class area like Florida City Don't know **** about growing up in the real ghettos.

Dude I’ve been here all my life and throughout the south. There’s no such thing as moderate racism. You’re either racist or you’re not and trust me they will let you know it. If black people bother somebody i promise you that they’ll do anything to seperate themselves.

All I’m saying on it...

I like Luke, but His latest comments are outta line.

Wasn't thrilled about the Manny hire, but I hope He succeeds...I'd love to see Manny stick it up the a$$es of these racists in Tuscaloosa, Death Valley, & Columbus, among other places.
