Perfect! Need more spotlight on the deficiencies around the program
Unfortunately, even if that is the case, perception is reality. And in this case, two NFL teams and the league came here to use the practice fields and all three determined our fields were not suitable or safe. Mind you, Golden had those allegations in his lawsuit months back. According to Rappoport, the situation had to be mediated by local officials and “cooler heads had to prevail.” That is just not how you handle this or put a best foot forward, and unfortunately, it is right on brand for this athletic department.U idiots really need to be rooting for another team...or maybe U're just trolls...fields are replaced all the ******* time bcs of being unsuitable, its not unique to the U...only joke is U and everyone else *****ing about a freaking field
It wasn't only the 9ers the nfl followed up and also deemed it unsafe. And with the stuff that with ryan William's there is no reason to take ums word especially because it's coming from james ****holeHas anyone even seen the fields that's commenting or are you just taking the word of the 49ers organization? If the 49ers wanted the fields to be a certain way they've known for two weeks now that the game is February 2nd and they could have came and prepared the fields that exact same way they have them at their practice facility

So let's say BJ had come out and said we should spend $150k to upgrade the fields so we weren't embarrassed when the 49ers came to town...you're telling me there wouldn't be 47 threads about how that kind of negligent spending was not only killing the program, but was the last straw for him?49ers paid the university money to redo the fields so they could practice. This program is such a joke. How the **** are the fields not up to standard to practice on?
Fields were seeded last year at this time. They were good to go this fall. I'd suspect they got torn up and need time to recover before spring practice this year.
It's not a "worldwide stage", nobody's watching the practices. Nobody but you cares bout this. You're confusing all the folks who will watch the SB with the 19 people who will watch practice for the SB.With the year-round schedule that major college football holds, there's just no excuse for this. Spring practice, recruiting camps, winter workouts...why is this happening in SoFla, with nice weather year round?
And maybe the OriginalCane is correct and it's the IPF. But if that's the case, either don't offer the use of the facilities to an NFL organization, or get it fixed in time so you can put your best foot forward on a worldwide stage.
And that's kinda the point. CIS thinks Miami should spend to keep the fields in top shape at every moment just in case somebody stops by, and the university only wants to spend when their actual team is practicing. Seems like pretty sound logic on Miami's part.I haven’t been on campus in months. But I sent a couple of texts some people that would know about this, and that’s exactly what they said. The practice fields were worn and had not fully recovered. Apparently Miami was remedying that by their normal longer-term fix, which would have been ready by spring practice. The other fix, is to completely re-sod them which is actually extremely expensive and usually not necessary to have them ready by spring practice

Because we don't use them this time of year? Just a hunch. Is the University supposed to keep the practice fields in pristine condition 24/7 ?49ers paid the university money to redo the fields so they could practice. This program is such a joke. Other programs definitely won’t use our Corvair practice field to negative recruit against us.So a practice field is a deficiency...man GTFOH
WTF kinda mom and pop mindset is that? Hey we have **** fields that we cant keep up with so use this? The School makes MILLIONS off these kids, they need to take care of those assets, Dont they do high school camps and stuff out there? Who wants their kids playing on **** fields? We dont even care enough to take the recommendation from 3 different entities. We are only ones who come out looking bad in this press..Because we don't use them this time of year? Just a hunch. The 49ers too good to use the brand new IPF in a pinch?
Go Canes!!!!!!!
Just FYI, the fields were pristine a couple of years ago, but were largely torn up during construction of the IPF. So if they were re-sodded recently, they have only been in place for a few months.
Not making any excuses, but our prior practice fields (pre-IPF) had won awards. I have no idea what has been done over the past few months, or whether we ever brought the outside fields back up to the prior standard.
Yall are ridiculous.
The field wasn't unsafe, it just wasnt how the 49ers wanted it. They wouldnt pull that **** with another NFL team, they just tried to punk Miami into doing what they wanted. It's a reason why NFL officials had to step in and force Miami to change it, but at the same time the 49ers had to pay for it. It was a preference fight and Miami pretty much said if you dont like our field you can fvck off and go practice at FIU instead.
