Practice fields were crap

Yall are ridiculous.
The field wasn't unsafe, it just wasnt how the 49ers wanted it. They wouldnt pull that **** with another NFL team, they just tried to punk Miami into doing what they wanted. It's a reason why NFL officials had to step in and force Miami to change it, but at the same time the 49ers had to pay for it. It was a preference fight and Miami pretty much said if you dont like our field you can fvck off and go practice at FIU instead.

Tough situation for UM. We can't have **** go right and our local officials told us where we were on the totem pole. Tough **** UM. Man, **** them!

The response, sources say, was that Miami had taken a year to mold its own field and did not want it replaced. The team began surveying other potential locations for the team to practice and house its operations during Super Bowl week -- with Florida International and Florida Atlantic being two possible options.

At this point, local officials got involved and the resolution was reached: The field would be replaced and if The U didn't like it later, they could have it replaced to their liking.

Just FYI, the fields were pristine a couple of years ago, but were largely torn up during construction of the IPF. So if they were re-sodded recently, they have only been in place for a few months.

Not making any excuses, but our prior practice fields (pre-IPF) had won awards. I have no idea what has been done over the past few months, or whether we ever brought the outside fields back up to the prior standard.

Won awards? Is there an Oscar's ceremony for practice fields? An ESPY perhaps?

You're right about Miami saying "no thanks":

"The response, sources say, was that Miami had taken a year to mold its own field and did not want it replaced."

But why is our field deemed "unsafe" by the NFL? We play on an NFL field, so shouldn't we have the same standards for our practice field? Looks like the Packers said the same thing

"When the 49ers and Packers visited prior to last week, the field was deemed unsafe in accordance with NFL standards. When the league conducted its testing, those officials agreed with the initial sentiments."

And, so is the conclusion here that the Niners are getting us a new practice field? And if they don't like, they will replace it? Why are people upset?

Maybe UM should have let a bunch of homeless come **** all over the field, would SanFran feel more at home?

Milorganite slow release in early Spring, yearly aeration, and grass bags to catch clippings will fix all this.

you guys complaining when we saved like 100k for a new field. this is a more genius con than the billboard fund.
Saved money to waste on manny buyout? Listen it’s not money saved when that crap field has been hurting our program for years. Golden says it got a player injured

49ers paid the university money to redo the fields so they could practice. This program is such a joke. How the **** are the fields not up to standard to practice on?

U idiots really need to be rooting for another team...or maybe U're just trolls...fields are replaced all the ******* time bcs of being unsuitable, its not unique to the U...only joke is U and everyone else *****ing about a freaking field
