Outside The Lines Report

Again u ignore the detailed distinction between overt and covert racism. Not to mention that the civil rights act was passed into law using commerce law, it had nothing to do (on paper or in law) with being moral and ethical, but more with the thought that the country and states were losing more $ by not allowing black people to spend $ that they could now earn. With this in mind, it will take a lot longer than that, nothing has truly been done to correct any of it from a morally sincere perspective. Excepting black money is smart economics that's all.

This thread had a chance......but then everyone decided to argue about how much racism exists here or there. Seriously?

I will say that nearly everyone has a point and that racism exists everywhere - but to imply that the SEC or tobacco road level of racism even compares to Miami is laughable. Not even close - ano I'm not going to argue the point either.

I will say though that I personally love attending tobacco rd away games (in a multicultural sea of orange and green) and just feeling how uncomfortable we make them. I'm white by the way......

Y'all ain't seen nothing yet. Come to Utah. Make sure your google the phrase "white and delightsome" first.

Again, as a black man, I'd rather someone I don't with or around call me a ni*#er, than to have someone who lives in or around my diverse neighborhood not call me one, but set me to fail at my job or prevent me from attaining the said job altogether in a covert act of sabotage. Upward mobility affects those who are impacted by racism far more than some idiotic words of projection.

Look at the student body at miami , it goes both ways albeit miami being a moral liberal institution ...If you're a African American Player here im sure you're aware you're being used ...to a lesser extent in this case

Anyone who thinks it doesn't exist is being just as close-minded.

Society cannot harmonize in a world full of double standards. You can't have your cake and eat it too. I could go into a full detailed lista and conversation of what i have encountered over the years but i would prefer to keep this a sports site and not a political one.

Wouldn't that just be racism then. Reverse Racism would be free of prejudice. Acceptance. You can't call it double standards either African Americans are still fighting against policies that where put in place where being a racist was a status symbol. Being called a ******* isn't making you sleep any less at night.

It would just be called that, but since the word "racism" has been designated more for the minority community, that is how it is viewed. So the reverse racism term has been born from that perception (right or wrong) when the racism has an opposite effect.

We are all fighting policies that are unjust. We can't change the past, only work toward improving the future. The people of today did not commit those acts, so they shouldn't be punished for them unless they continue to preach those ideals.

If you are referring to the N word, then no, it doesn't make me sleep any less at night. But it also shouldn't make many young African-Americans sleep less either since they glorify the word in music and in their day-to-day vocabulary. If you want the word to go away, stop using it. That's one of many double standards. For any changes to take place in a broken society (or family, country, etc) everyone needs to clean up their own house first before pointing fingers at other's houses.

How has racism towards u impacted u socially, economically, political, culturally and how does it impact your upward mobility PSU Cane? Of course rappers don't use the word in the same way that it has been historically uused, let's not play dumb now. U feel like someone pointed a finger at U, then that's your own fault and guilt. "Punished", no one was punished for America's past overt racism, and no one is or ever could be "punished" now, let's not be ridiculous and dramatic. The same government that exists today, committed and ok'd those acts by making them legal. No apology, no reparations, no group psychological therapy, no current call or addressing of the obvious pathology of behavior that directly stems from 400 years of dehumanizing other human beings, raping black women, committing legal murders, breeding, brainwashing etc... when was any of this 400 years of pathological psychopathic mania ever addressed? It never was and has been expected to have simply gone away, while it's truly just gone into the subconscious, which is even more influential of behavior. Keep minimizing but it still doesn't address the unaddressed 400 years of pure uninterrupted debauchery.

The word racism is not designated only for minority. The only people pushing the term Reverse Racism are the same people who don't recognize that is still exist.

We are not all fight policies that are unjust. If you ever seen the difference in Schools and Communities you can't tell me it's because african americans are too lazy to make a difference, Its policies that were put in place years ago affecting our communities today.

I was not referring to the N word because you aren't black I'm taking about Kra-cker the site just censored the real word. If you can't tell the difference between a white person saying the N word and a black person. The word was created by white people as derogatory term for african american, Another thing is you can assume all black people use the word just because some do, some people see it as chance to reclaim the word from how it was used before. There is no Double Standard. Lets talk about the War on Drugs, Police brutality, etc.. Not saying white people don't experience it but lets be real If I was walking down the street and you where walking down the street who would get profiled first.

Speaking as a white dude, this is what I've always thought. I'm staying outta this **** tho lol

You preaching some pure truth right there my best friend (he is black) graduated from UTAH Law an he shared some stories that were disturbing but he made it thorough it. I went out to Salt Lake for his graduation and it was an experience to say the least. I can tell you for a fact we all got long stares, an one brave girl in an ice cream shop even told us point blank they don't get black folks in there store, an she never seen so many that were obviously well spoken educated and well off (there were about 5-6 families that flew out and yes we are all black with a minimum of two bachelors degrees a piece). I was surprised because I thought for sure there would be black Hollywood types descending on Salt Lake City on their way to Park City for the Sun-dance Film Festival over the years.

We even took a tour of temple mount, that was an experience. But over all it was a insightful trip. I don't know how in God's BYU gets young black men to play for that school after having learned things I did during my trip to UTAH. Even playing for Utah is a quite sketchy as a black man, as for the Polynesians that is a whole other story for another day but I will say that they should be walking out the same door as the black folks.

Go Canes

It's cool. We equal to Alabama when it comes to racism within our fanbase. We just hide it better even though a possible majority of our effing fans that actually attend games aren't even white. You clowns are doing a disservice to yourself by tarnishing the very group you supposedly belong to by trying to draw parallels between our fans and those of backward *** southern schools. You can hate everything about the state of this program and even the school's idiot administration but when you disparage the real fanbase by drawing these retarded parallels then you just expose yourself as either a fraudulent fan or a moron or both. But yeah, I'm wrong. It was widespread racism that made Japicky suck. Funny how that same racism fell in love with Snickers for a while too and almost universally loved Kayaa over cornfed whitebread Heaps. So you know what? Eff off if you can't be a Canes fan first around here before you decide to throw us all under the bus by equivocating us with the deep south. And yeah, it was pointed out (and reaffirmed by a recent profile of Charles Barkley) that star athletes never see the ugly side of these people in the $EC and such. Well that's all fine and good but then don't hold us to a different standard where you say that it doesn't matter who is at games or actually in these kids lives here and that South Florida just hides their prejudices whereas the good ol' boys are overt about it and that's preferable. But again, walk the lots at Sun Lifeless and tell me it's an issue. Ask former players and tell me it's the same as elsewhere. Y'all are tripping trying to prove some larger point at our expense.

I could list several ways racism has impacted me socially or economically, but i'm not going to. I'm not trying to be a poster child here. I'm just trying to offer insight to the view of white America that this thread seems to be painting with one giant brush. The only way to learn and grow with one another is to understand one another.
