OT:NBA regular season suspended

I hope you're right.

He is.

Coronavirus is complete bullshyt.

If you are not panicking from the thousands of people dying every year over the “common” cold and flu, there is no reason to be afraid of this nonsense.

Listen and watch what they tell/ show you closely without emotion. It falls apart real fast with the most basic of critical thinking.

There is a lot of other bullshyt medical hysteria going around, especially when it comes to viruses.

2+2 don’t equal 7.

You can always count on some idiot troll to completely miss the point in one of these threads.

The impact of COVID-19 goes way beyond a death toll or death rate. HPV and the seasonal flu don't overburden the health care system and require isolation practices that tank the economy and potentially disrupt modern social infrastructure. That's the potential ****storm that people with real perspective are panicking about. That and the possibility of losing elderly loved ones of course.

Carry on with your ignorant bull****.

The only remaining value of this site is to behold the overpowering stupidity of the Simplistic Angry Male.

Imagine going through life like that. That's what never fails to amaze me. Oh the hilarity. Imagine waking up every day of your life and being a SAM. Every thought, every conclusion as raw torture. It's like bricks floating through the sky and being absorbed from every angle, being sucked into that skull. The vital replenishment to maintain the level of stupidity that otherwise should not be attainable.

Wherever this virus leads, to not understand that it would explode exponentially in terms of impacting daily society was beyond idiotic. It is the difference between situational clarity and going through life as a blockhead SAM, someone who needs to run to the latest right wing website to be told how to react, to be told what meaningless deflections to use.

Those ailments present themselves in far more than just AIDS, my friend. You're aware of that I'm certain.

This isnt this dudes first epidemic rodeo. They also left out his role in the Ebola outbreak where he personally treated Ebola patients. Weird how they left that out as well. So weird.

This is one of the most cited physicians in history, but go on, lets reduce him to just a figurehead, which again, I say, if you really do believe that, then what does it say about the people who picked him to lead the coronavirus task force?

Oh this is rich......

"Fauci says he tries to fit in one 2-hour shift in the isolation unit every day, usually mid- or late afternoon, when he is less busy. "I'm here to learn about Ebola and support our experts." He is part of a team that includes a senior infectious disease specialist, a senior intensive care specialist, a respiratory therapist, four nurses, and two "WatSans,""

Yep...and when your CEO comes down to the warehouse to drive a forklift for 5 mins "to just help out", he instantly becomes the best forklift driver in the whole company!!!

LMAO.....

seriously, I spit my drink out reading this....

You mean like this expert?

Or the fact, because I was there, that Dr F was removed from DoD's Pandemic Influenza committee, circa 2007, because he is, shall we say mildly, a scientist with an agenda?

Last I remember, we were all going to die from Avian Flu if he didn't get $300MM for his lab immediately.

He didn't get his funding, and lo and behold, we are all still alive.

😬😷
Muppet Master!!!! Is this the truth?

Tell me how this is ill reasoned then. It has a much higher death rate and transmission rate than the flu. You have to take extreme measures to prevent the spread otherwise hundreds of thousands will die.

If you’re so logical then why did cities that canceled mass gatherings proactively fare much better with the Spanish flu?

But nah, EmpiricalCane on canesinsight is more knowledgable than Harvard epidemiologists.

EVERYTHING going on in South Korea and US says otherwise.

EVERYTHING.

but please do you.

Might I suggest bubble wrap?

Fauci has made a number of basic scientific observations that contribute to the current understanding of the regulation of the human immune response, and is recognized for delineating the mechanisms whereby immunosuppressive agents adapt to the human immune response. He has developed therapies for formerly fatal diseases such as polyarteritis nodosa, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and lymphomatoid granulomatosis. In a 1985 Stanford University Arthritis Center Survey of the American Rheumatism Association, membership ranked Fauci's work on the treatment of polyarteritis nodosa and granulomatosis with polyangiitis as one of the most important advances in patient management in rheumatology over the previous 20 years.

Fauci has made influential contributions to the understanding of how HIV destroys the body's defenses leading to the progression to AIDS. He also has outlined the mechanisms of induction of HIV expression by endogenous cytokines. Fauci has played an important role in developing strategies for the therapy and immune reconstitution of patients with this disease, as well as for a vaccine to prevent HIV infection. His current research is concentrated on identifying the nature of the immunopathogenic mechanisms of HIV infection and the scope of the body's immune responses to HIV.

In 2003, the Institute for Scientific Information indicated that Fauci was the 13th most-cited scientist during the twenty-year period from 1983 to 2002. He was the ninth most-cited scientist in immunology in the period January 1993 to June 30, 2003.

The potential impact on world-wide supply chains is staggering.

Still waiting on your explanation.

I'm sorry, I didn't read closely enough to find a question answerable..but let me try...

South Korea and US aren't experiencing hugher death rates than flu, in fact its LESS THAN flu, for healthy patients. CORRECT it is tougher and more lethal for IMMUNOCOMPRIMISED patients.

You can't be serious in comparing public health measures and overall human hygiene practices of the Spanish Flu years to modern Western Societies are you?

PS..Italy kinda isn't one.

Wow Templar...shhhhh...

thats a lot of really big words with HIV everywhere. Super will love it!

I heard Fauci was an expert on rashes too...he prescribed a cream in a free clinical once as a med student.

Rogan had an infectious disease expert on yesterday. Predicted, conservatively, 96M cases, 48M hospitalizations, and over 480K deaths. Give it a listen.

Michael Osterholm is an internationally recognized expert in infectious disease epidemiology. He is Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, a professor in the Technological Leadership Institute, College of Science and Engineering, and an adjunct professor in the Medical School, all at the University of Minnesota.

Lost me on the second sentence. 48M hospitalizations out of 96M cases? That’s laughable. When you come out of the gate with idiocy like this, it’s hard to believe any of it. Let those numbers sink in.

I realize that is not you saying that, but this supposed expert.

Exact same time frame as the Canes’ epic run?

I guess we’re just supposed to accept that as a weird coincidence, right?

Hmmmmm.....I wonder what disease was the most "fashionable" during that time.frame...

I bet Randy Shiltz and Dr Robert Gallo know....
