OT: Ivins Kicked out

I could literally see job-type disciplinary action being appropriate for everyone involved, each for their own idiocy, even if it’s just admonishment.

According to @Liberty City El that guy isn’t an actual coach or even an employee of the county or MNW. Sounds like somebody who helps out, like a volunteer. He didn’t come off great either, but it makes a difference that he’s not part of the school

I keep prefacing everything here with Ivins pulled a ***** move on this one and should be at minimum admonishmed by his employer BUT I also gotta wonder if any of this happens let alone the race card being pulled if it's another white guy from a publication/website that is based in the SEC.

Funny how those good ol' boys and those staffs and even those coaches from the heart of Dixie are never put in these precarious social settings with race cards being pulled on them.

Our local high school corches/volunteers are always so busy thinking they're better than whatever staff is in place at UM along with their idiotic Dade/Broward jealousies but they seemingly nevahhhhhh make things uncomfortable for any outsiders. Wondahhh why?

That said again, eff Ivans. Sounds like a Commie Russian name to me anyway.

He never said he would give them bad reviews. He just said he wouldn't go to bat for them pretty much. Never eluded to giving bad or negative reviews. Stop reading into things.
Im sorry bro your coming off like an Ivins apologist here..

Dude said " if they ask me about a northwestern kid you think I'm going to give a glowing review?" He's a writer, its what he does for a freaking living, he knows exactly how people were gonna perceive that, and how it looks. Shame on him. Guarantee you would never see a professional like Bluestein going in on twitter to air his grievances about how a school treated him during a spring game... He was obviously in his feelings, I am administrator Ive ran into Ivins before on the sidelines, I guarantee he gave some kind of attitude sometime during the exchange if 5 cops actually showed up to remove him..thats guaranteed... 5 cops are not showing up to remove one non threatening reporter for no reason..

At the same time the ehole SFL football season is entirely out of hand, I'm glad my high school sucks. I look at Ivins with the sideye now after that post

"Excuse me, Mr. Ivins, but since you do not have credentials, you can't be on the sidelines."

"Fine, but since I was invited, can I still watch from the bleachers?"

"That will be acceptable. Thank you for understanding. We will try to avoid this miscommunication in the future."

...Said no one AT ALL in this conversation.

Used to be a journalist. Any time I was to cover sports, if I were invited to the sidelines, I would make sure my affairs were in order. Such as press passes or equivalent.

Thats called being a professional.

I did not like that Ivins implicated that his treatment in this situation that he would punish a kid because he didn't like the coach. Who the **** do you think you are? You, and others like you are why I'm not in journalism anymore. You want to make it about you and your ego. Be a professional, not some pouty sophmore.

And as for the coach, he comes off as a tool in this. Okay, you want the guy off your sidelines, fine. You throw 5 cops at a guy in the bleachers? Who you invited to watch your kids? Get real.

I swear, it seems commonplace for adults nowadays to act like pouty sophmores. God****. Grow up.

Perhaps MNW is ****ed the big recruiting sites don't pump their kids up enough.

Was the Georgia 247 and Rivals guys kicked out? They probably had the correct credentials too stay.

Maybe this is a Miami thing. The fact of the matter. Every since Miami cleaned house in the 2008 class at MNW. Miami has signed 1 MNW kid. That was ranked in the top 50 in the state of Florida. 10 young men from MNW have been ranked in the top 50 in the state. Artie Burns is the only one to sign here.

Ivins was dumb for taking the bait. Said something really stupid but what he said. Seems too trump the racist pos that baited him.

Had this been a school in bama or Georgia. Had the whitey coaches said to a black reporter. "You're just an uppity black guy" Best believe this would be a big *** story. A 100 page thread would be ongoing on here. Had the black reporter said anything like Ivins said. It would get a small amount of attention, if any.

MNW hasn't been a feeder school for us in a long time. If they want their kids to have higher rankings. Perhaps they should get in the arms race in south Florida and take the better talent from other schools.

Now that you mentioned it that 2008 class from Miami Northwestern will go down as the most overrated bunch of kids to ever come from a national powerhouse. The only one that did anything at Miami was Spence. Jacory was a 3 year starter but didn’t know what team he played for, Foreston was riddled with injuries and was an idiot for leaving early, same with Streeter and Washington minus the injuries, Johnson was probably the second or third best from that group and we all know what happened his senior year, Ben Jones never played and the same goes with Thompkins.

who was the one northwestern kid that we offered when he was unknown and then flipped late on us?

I see that Footballville dude had no issue covering the MNW spring game...or whatever they are calling it...LULZ

I don’t think it has anything to do with that. I think MNW feels that their program is disrespected when comparing it to private schools such as STA, Cardinal Gibbons, Chaminade, etc. It has nothing to do with the SEC but more so around the local media members and how they cover private schools compared to predominantly black public schools. MNW feels they are just as accomplished as STA but may not receive the same respect as those private schools. MNW may feel that they are being disrespected because they are just as accomplished. I see it as a local journalist issue.

I don’t know how everything went down but it sounds like whoever called for Ivins to be escorted felt he did not have permission to be on the sideline. It appears that since Ivins had no luck with the AD responding to his inquiries he just showed up on the sideline (still invited but no permission to be on the sideline). It was an dispute between Ivin and MNW admin.

I really don’t see how the SEC plays into this. I think if one of their writers had a similar interaction with MNW it would have went down the same way.

Makes him look like even more of a dip**** in my opinion

Disrespected? *SMH*

Someone at MNW pulled rank over some hurt feelings.

Ivins got caught up in his feelings a bit online.

Both parties acted a fool, MNW moreso though. They should be happy someone wants to cover anything they have going on. Ivins could've gone anywhere, but chose to go there. They better hope they don't alienate the media, not saying they will, but if that happens exposure will decline while their stars transfer elsewhere to get exposure. This is tge digital age, that **** can happen. Not saying its good, it just is what it is.

Da warden dude is a cane fan and likely on this board....but these dudes if u follow them have wayyyy to big ego's and thoughts about themselves. This social media sh*t is a drug to these clowns.

Grown *** man calling dude a "goofy". Bih you aint from chicago sit your *** down somewhere.

Ivins was all the way in the wrong with the post about not giving a glowing review.

MNW was in the wrong for escorting a dude out of an open scrimmage..like wtf kind of power struggle they got going on. They seem to just have a personal issue with IVINS.

Yeah, Ivins was clearly in the wrong. But his ordeal is more reactionary as opposed to the root cause.
