There is Only Two Postion at Linebacker / From Toure & NC st Tranfer , Wesly a three Starters, Popo Highly regarded recruit , Cam Pruitt & Wiley two pair Gifted kids,to Finally older Smith & Alderman if you can’t fill Two Holes 🕳️ with all that it’s not the **Talent it’s the Coaching & system Used.

What I meant too say
there are only Two Linebacker positions Spot To Fill.
*If We Don’t Have the Talent to atleast be Solid With adding Toure & Bonner with what we already Have on the Roster
It has to be the Coaching.

It will not be the coaching. The last 2 seasons Hetherman has coached an All Conference LB, who was not an All Conference player before being coached by him. If history repeats itself, as it often does, we can expect to see an All Conference LB this coming season.

Y'all be having agendas against certain players lol (Fletcher/Wes) its kinda odd lol, if you think Wes is gonna be on watching on the sidelines with THIS group of LBs we have well i got news for you buddy.....

That's a potential solid 4 at Mike & Weak Side.

From the games I watched of NC ST, Bonner looks to be a significant upgrade as a run defender.

Where he excels is early diagnosis & gap identification on stretch zone runs.

I'd probably say

4-2:
Mike: Toure / Popo / Wiley Jr
Will: Wes or Bonner / Pruitt

I think people are vastly overestimating how bad this LB group is. With Toure and Bonner additions I'm not nearly as pressed/urgent about the Young guys NEEDING to step up ASAP. Is too bad Bobby Washington had his injury and Hayes is likely going to have much more important things to worry about...
But man I really want Wiley and Pruitt to get a lot of snaps weeks 2+3. If Smith and Alderman are both significantly out-snapping those two by say the latter half of the season, that would be very disappointing.

But like I think Wes is a fine player. His by far biggest problem Is I'm convinced dude has no ******* idea what he's doing pre-snap on any given play, which is insane... And if it continues, dude should be seeing the bench. But Toure and Bonner should at the very least be solid to good I think. I'm hopeful Popo will be good, and given this group I think we will need him and/or Pruitt to really step up so we can have a good 3rd down Backer. Like You said Bonner seems more of a run defender, Toure has proven himself as a pass rusher, and Wes is just kinda fine all-around. We need Popo and Pruitt to be good coverage guys. Would hope Bobby could be that but he's got similar mental side issues as Wes AND what seemed like a significant Knee Injury...

Also maybe it's just me, but aside from a scenario where you have a legit 3-down dawg at MLB, I really don't care all that much about LB. Like I'd take Average LBs with Good-Great along any DL or DB position than the opposite. Like If you just pan back and say we just spent a LOT on DB in portal (and DL with Blay addition and all the talent we have), and kinda just spent average at LB... I'd say that is a good allocation of resources for roster construction. Of course I personally think we got too many CBs if Lucas is going to exclusively be a CB, but that's kinda whatever.... All that I feel we really are missing defensively is another DT. We just have to hope the main 3 are great and maybe Jones/Simpson step up.
