Do not dismiss the Munchak interview.

I've heard so many contradictory things that I'm taking a wait and see approach. But Adam Schefter is telling people in the agent community that he expects Munchak to be the next coach at Penn State.

Have you ever watched the NFL Network? Adam Schefter is about as connected as you or I. There are too many "insiders" who lack any real juice, or connections. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility but Shefter's input is highly suspect.

Just parse the words in his report/tweet...I'm assuming what you meant to write was" may in the agent community are telling schecter..." Sit with that statement for a moment. Exactly how many agents are in a place where theyre close enough to the situation to have any real feel for where this process is, and how theyre leaning????

This is pure speculation and conjecture if you ask me. They have to remain relevant, and feel the need to "make" news--b/c people like Schefter rarely are the ones to break it. He could know 15--maybe 20 agents well enuf to get a statement. What are the chances the 3 agents who represent the 3 known candidates all kibbutz together, and he's spoken to more than one of them????

highly suspect.

Everything is suspect. That's why CIS hasn't reported anything, unlike others. Schefter told an agent that he expects Munchak to be the head coach at PSU. If he knew it for fact, he would've reported it.

I'm just passing along the rumors with a disclaimer.

GeminiCane; AG is gone because the damage and repair job he would have to do if he stays would arguably be worse than the NCAA uncertainties[/QUOTE said:
In my opinion don't think is true, recruiting is a business, guys put too much hyperbole into this, when you come to realize that this is a business, all these other things go away and it simplifies the understanding of this "game".

And I base this on what actual players say, what I've read and the chance encounters I've been lucky enough to have thru former people that actually played the game at this and the higher level.

Which also why fans give waaaayyy toooo much credit on coaches and schemes and X's and O's

QB: Ken Dorsey
HB: Telly Lockette
TE: Brennan Carrol

Where's is the X and O guy.... Thats what this staff was sorely lacking. Those are Great names and good pos coaches but while they weren't the glamour names to us at the time, Fisch, McDonald, even Lovett under Randy where good X and Os guys. Even staff needs a very Good one on each side of the ball.

Are you being sarcastic?? or are you being serious?? we would ******* dominate with that coaching staff. we would recruit like crazy and develop that talent and then in turn we would absolutely dominate on the field

I gotcha... no worries. I still place no stock in anything that little weasel says. But appreciate the clarification.

I think the fact that Munchak is a "NFL guy" will scare them in the end. Munchak has spent his entire career as a NFL player or coach and Penn State is looking for a guy who will never leave. Of all of the candidates Golden is the only long term choice. Franklin is a hot name and will get a NFL offer at some point and Munchak is a true "NFL guy" and will run back to the NFL the first chance he gets.

All signs point to Golden and I fully expect for him to take the job and make the announcement no later than Tuesday.

DMo: what are you hearing about the AD's or school's thoughts on Golden leaving -- that is, like the rest of this message board, are they apathetic as to his departure, or do they seriously want him to stay? The punch to the nuts would be if not only he stays, but then we give the dude a raise.

I'm sure everyone has their own opinion, but the people I've heard from definitely want him to stay.

This staff will own recruiting and have a quick strike offense with a fast attacking 4-3 defense. That is all we need in Miami to be successful. We are in the city that produces the absolute best football players in the world, we would clean up like no other.

honestly, i wish golden did this 2 weeks ago if he does leave because all dalvin cook said was "i want to play in nfl" If we got butch, he would have been like "Are you familiar with Edge james, mcgahee, gore, portis, etc.

If interviews take place with Munchak and Franklin I doubt there is an offer. Really who the **** knows.

Personally love the overreaction and the lack of understanding how this is business as usual and a business decision, one that anyone of us would do if we were in Golden's shoes, as well. Let's not hypocritical here, cus in our lives we have or would do with our careers. Understand this "game of football" is not a sport and sure as **** had nothing to do with amateurism, that's the biggest myth and BS most fans have been suckered into buying. THIS IS A BUSINESS, sooner you accept an understand that the better you'll be. I am just hoping for a quick resolution either way.

My work is done, as I am just contributing to get this thread to 5k posts and I'm sure some of you guys will pounce!

You don't get it. A lot of us want him gone because we think he is nothing more than an average coach. I'm not upset that his takin some time because I want him to stay. I'm upset because I want him out as soon as possible.

If he finished 11-2 the tone of the discussion would be markedly different

He didn't....and none of the games he lost were close. So what is your point?

If he did and interviewed with PSU people would want him to stay. No usher him out the door. I was agreeing with the post before mine

Got it.

Not surprising in the least.

And Schefter > any of these other dumb ***** that keep tweeting ****

Thanks for crushing my hopes.

"Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris (whose Tigers offense is coming off a very impressive performance in Clemson’s Orange Bowl win, and will be losing two stars in quarterback Tajh Boyd and WR Sammy Watkins) and Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart have been the most desirable coordinators for a couple of years now, and both could become targets for Miami."

If this whole thing ends with the school announcing Golden has a new contract with a raise, and they try spin this as a great day for UM, there will be bodies in the street.

At this point .... excluding Butch.. only 2 of those guys have been Coordinators EO and JC. And jury is out on both of them.

I not saying we would be killing with that staff - but schematically, who is our guy out of that group.

we need a miami guy.

******* Tennessee Titans ******* everything up for us. If they'd fired him a week ago, they wouldn't have pursued Golden and he wouldn't have lost the recruiting class. Now we may be stuck with him AND lose the class.

Dear Lord, please let someone discover Munchak knew about Sandusky.
