The Munchak situation has had me worried since yesterday, when it was announced that he would be let go. He may not have college coaching experience, but they can make up for that with the staff they hire under him. And it seems like a good job for him, it being his alma mater, etc.

DMo: what are you hearing about the AD's or school's thoughts on Golden leaving -- that is, like the rest of this message board, are they apathetic as to his departure, or do they seriously want him to stay? The punch to the nuts would be if not only he stays, but then we give the dude a raise.

I can't imagine that the administration would be dumb enough to give this guy a raise.....no chance. If they do they should all be let go from their current position because they don't know what the **** they are doing.

"Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris (whose Tigers offense is coming off a very impressive performance in Clemson’s Orange Bowl win, and will be losing two stars in quarterback Tajh Boyd and WR Sammy Watkins) and Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart have been the most desirable coordinators for a couple of years now, and both could become targets for Miami."

we need a miami guy.

We need the best guy available, and either of those options would be good hires even if I prefer Petrino who also isn't a "Miami" guy.

I'm sure everyone has their own opinion, but the people I've heard from definitely want him to stay.

And this pretty much sums up the ineptitude of this administration.

They hired Coker, extender Coker, hired Shannon, took too long to fire Shannon...and are now allowing this underqualified ex Temple coach to dictate terms to them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he returns WITH Onfrio and WITH A raise.

Petrino is out there for the taking and they are languishing over that piece of garbage. It really is depressing and disturbing.

So basically, same as before. No website, no matter how ridiculed or respected their insiders are, know anything. Sounds typical, just enjoy the tour and hope for the best because we are thirteen years removed from glory right now with at least a few years of a contending team away from mattering.

This University would be completely closing the door on its football program if it hires a college coordinator right now.

Seriously? After this weekend I would think they would have hired a moving truck for him already.

What makes all the Petrino lovers think that he won't use us as a stepping stone the first chance he gets offered a better paying job?

Because we don't lose coaches to other college teams. Golden would be the first.

Because they're wrapped up in their Golden hatred.

Petrino would be off at the first sniff of a pay rise.

We have never had success with inexperienced coaches. This job has been proven over and over to eat inexperienced and under qualified coaches alive. It's not hyperbole. It's fact.

I don't think Golden will offered the job. Most teams name a number one and when they interview him, if he wants the job they will give it to him. Like when we hired Golden. Since he hasn't accepted it i don't think he was even given the chance to accept the job.

Does anyone know Golden's buyout? We can just use that money to hire an elite OC or DC.

Do you guys think Petrino will leave that **** hole for an OC job here?

Or get Butch as a DC and have Chud as out HC.

The longer this drags out, the more likely that he stays.

Two good years from Petrino would get this program on the right track...and I'll gladly take it.

What all the Golden and administration slurpers don't realize is if a guy isn't good enough or successful enough he won't be here for more than 3 years anyways...so why not take the best candidate and worry about tommorrow, tommorrow.

For the first time in 10+ years what this program needs, more than anything else....is A GOOD COACH.

Most teams don't also allow a paedophile to abuse young boys and men in their facilities and cover up for it.

Who knows how PSU conduct their coach searches.

As much as I agree that Olive Garden CAN coach, I just don't us giving him a opportunity to interview... I would be shocked if they did. It would behoove us to at least talk to the guy, we need the real deal. Butch would be my first and the safest choice (known quantity) but I just don't think the powers that be "get it."
