Official fire Urban Meyer thread

It’s really sad that it needs to be spelled out like this for some people. It’s not that difficult of a concept to grasp. Meyer gets the benefit of the doubt because of his track record. Everyone expects that Ohio State will bounce back and probably win the the rest of their regular season games. If OSU goes on a 4 game losing streak we’ll revisit this discussion but until then, one bad loss is not analogous to Richt and UM.

It needs to be spelled because of the OP. It is beyond sad.

Not comparing Richt to Meyer.
Meyer has the 2nd most talented team in the country.
He is miles ahead on talent over the last 3 unranked team he lost to.
As I asked above, how many passes does he get?

Meyer's the great golfer who brags about his scratch game but keeps taking those mulligans.

Losing to an unranked and less talented team on the road due to an incompetent OL and poor QB play, Inexcusable! Can you imagine? Great coaches never lose

Who cares about where the program is heading!

Mike leach and Lane kiffin need to be in Columbus by Monday. Already sent the emails, trust me I know more than everyone because I have an account at canesinsight

Tune in next week when we fire Nick saban for losing to a less talented LSU team on the road.

EDIT**
remember when a lot of you commenting on this wanted Schiano to be our HC ? Good times. Or when we criticized richt for hiring Diaz? Even better

He gets credit for offense struggling but no credit for the best hire in college football arguably in diaz

Funny I was on their board. They are actually calling for Urban and Schiano to be fired. 😭😭😭😭😭😭🐶

LOLOL so now we are giving Richt national titles to his name?

It is proven that lower IQ folks are afraid of change, crave order and conformity. This is why these folks come to the defense of every corch we have had.

IQ testing has significant bias and doesn't test functional intelligence, which is a more pertinent measure for an individual's success.

Oh lord You think we're mad only about the VA game ? OSU is 2nd in CFB in yards per game..... We are 77th. Our offense has been trash the entire season not just the VA game. Our offense has regressed every year hes been here and yet dummies like you think there is no issue and Richt is magically going to turn into a good OC. You're like a guy who jumps off a building and as hes falling down says : "See im not dead yet "

This dude has mentioned Richt name 1,200 times in the month of October alone, what kind of obsession is that?

This dude stopped being a fan of UGA because they fired his precious coach. He then started rooting for Miami because it was the only school to give his precious coach a job. What kind of obsession is that?

Maybe he should evaluate the job the OL coach is doing? Instead of being loyal to his friend.

Its not about being loyal, its about being realistic, we got better o-line players on the roster, but they not physically ready, 1yr in a college s&c program will help. But i deally, you'd want a guy to get 2 to 3yrs in one for o-linemen.

When coach grobe was at waje forest it was basically mandatory that everybody redshirted.

Let me ask you....you said recruiting ranking doesn’t mean anything......so how do you know ”we got better o-line players on the roster” if they aren’t playing?

It really isn't that difficult at all.

What is OSU in defense? Mid 80's right?

So would you switch with them and give up our #1 defense? And then just be *****ing about how our defense is ******** our offense over ?

Does Richt need to fix this offense? Absolutely.

What people are missing here is they want to jump all over Richt for losing 1-2 games each year we should not, but at the same time give almost every coach in the country a pass since they aren't at Miami. How many coaches/ teams do not drop 1-2 bad games each year? There's about 4-5 (Saban, Urban, Dabo, Oklahoma). This is the difference between the elite teams and the good teams. So unless we can get one of those 4-5 coaches, then we work with what we have until a better opportunity comes along.

This is stuff is just hilarious. Every single one of you that is crying to excuse Rick's loss to Virginia because Meyer lost to Purdue, are the same people who keep harping on our need for better players-- OL and QB, mainly.

What you guys don't get is that in the competitive landscape that is college recruiting, there are serious questions about our guy's ability to win a championship and consistently beat his top competition.

As much as we all enjoyed watching Urban Meyer's $8,000,000 Suck-tator *** sitting on that little golf cart eating a ****** pizza before his press conference, he has won three national championships and consistently makes his top rivals his *****. Michigan literally spent millions of dollars a year to host camps around the world trying to beat that guy.

When we are going head-to-head for top talent people will bring up that, "CMR hasn't won a championship, and lost two out of three games he played against Florida. At Miami, he was embarrassed by Wisconsin, Clemson and LSU"

What are they going to say about a guy like Meyer? "Oh, well, he did lose to Purdue, right?" Huge difference. Huge.

So, yes, it hurts us more when we lose to Pitt and UVA. Your body of work as a head coach matters when you've been at it as long as CMRick.
