Off Topic - Calvin Ridley's Camaro, courtesy of Alabama...

Why is it every time a player signs with the $ec, people always assume he got a car, suits, credit cards, cash, an apartment, a job for his family? Guys just love the $ec, it's the best. They'll even adopt you.

I read a pretty interesting article on the subject recently. An anonymous SEC bag man gave a pretty in depth interview and explained how they operate. A quick summary is that all the big time programs have bag men, they are always at arms length from the school and the key to the deal is to avoid paper trails.

They don't buy the player a car, which would be too easy to uncover, but instead will direct cash to the players family so they can make the purchase.

Pretty sure that was sarcasm.

the common denominator is mark emmert.

Exactly.... You guys have to realize most people just aren't very smart. They always say dumb sht like there's no proof...after Patrick Johnson all Miami fans should have seen the light. Its quite sad to see such stupidity on a daily basis.

You can't even read, you stupid ***** crackhead.

Then we should've got him a Corvette.

Lol...classic, though we can't get Emmert to sign off on the deal.

Very well known the Alabama booster networks involvement via automobile dealerships.

There is simply no fear anymore. The NCAA has a vested interested in looking the other way as it pertains to the $EC....absent the random minor infraction or major investigation that disappears into thin air.

Couple that with a now almost perfected art of covering any paper trail...it's **** near bullet proof and recruits see it.

They've been doing it forever. Remember that sweet ride Auburn bought Corey Lemonier?

Nothing to see hear. Nothing will come of this.

My family member's son played football at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, during the years they when Mark Ingram was the top back. He was friends with a couple players. He said after they won the ship a few were driving new Camaro's the following week, he even rode in one players'. He said they openly talked about a dealership/financing arrangement, with a couple dealerships. Also they would go to places to eat and they just took the order with no bill. He loved it because he got the hookup on clothes and sneakers too. Point is that Bama Football means everything to them and their state. They gonna do everything necessary they can get away with to maintain a competitive advantage. It's say so, but I personally know it to be fact from a couple former players from way back, mid 80's.

Nothing's changed

The worst part is you know they have our beloved Ahmmon Richards up there right now, cruising around in the Camaro and selling him on the "your next in line to be our next South Florida playmaker at WR." Hopefully he isn't overly enticed bc I really do see him being a great player at The U.

There's also a common practice of issuing "loaner" cars. Dealership service department takes in a player's junker car for four years worth of repairs and loans said player a sports car or luxury vehicle while "repairs" are being done. It's not just big money $EC schools. When I was at UCF, Daunte Culpepper drove a brand new Lincoln Navigator. This was when UCF had just made the jump from 1AA to D1.

Big difference. The Ridleys literally come from the gutter. Ahmmon comes from a great family and raised properly. They do not have their hands out. His father will not sell him out like Patrick Peterson.

That's good to know. Thanks for the insight

Not sure if anyone else has seen this or if anyone even cares, but below is a picture of the car that Alabama bought for Calvin Ridley. A friend of mine went to school with Calvin and his brother and knows the family...it has come straight from them that this car was purchased for him by the school in order to go there.

We all know that this is common with the "big" schools and their bag men, but I still find it interesting to see confirmed cases like this...

Probably won't make a difference, but you should report this to a journalist or the NCAA. **** Bama!
