Some of it is recent.

I make no moral judgment, but I can understand why schools aren’t entrusting their organizations to someone who they see as unreliable.

I'm not being a **** here and thanks for answering. Recent though, you heard this, but not a peep to the national media or a police report? That seems unlikely and I'm not questioning that you've heard it, but the validity of what was said.

Yup. Switch Mario and Lane’s QB and see what happens.

When we don't have linebackers, OL, etc in year three of Manny's career, we don't give him a pass. Why does Mario get one in year four?

People talked about how this team was going to quit on Manny. Didn't see that, but tonight you saw it with Mario's crew. Saw it two weeks ago as well.

We play Mario tonight, I would bet the farm that we wreck them in similar fashion. So we want to dump one coach (paying his buyout), pay Mario's buyout and then give him at least double Manny's pay for him and staff. We're talking roughly 12 mil just to swap coaches, nevermind the longterm costs.

Is this real life?

He beat #3 Oregon in 2012 with only 51 scholarship players in the regular season, finished 10-2 and would have played them again for the Pac12 conference title but they couldn't play due to sanctions. And don't move the goal posts. A P5 team is supposed to beat P5 teams. A G5 team is supposed to beat G5 teams. FAU hadn't been over .500 in 6 seasons and he won his conference twice with double digit win seasons. Anyone with eyeballs can see that Ole Miss would have teabagged the Pac12.
Thank you for saving me the time of writing something similar to this.

Here is the thing. Is Mario better than Manny? Yes... Is he worth breaking the bank for? IMO, we can probably a comparable HC (Lane, Stoops, etc) at a more reasonable cost. This will also allow us to spread the money around and get better assistants. Let's face it, one of our struggles in luring top head coaches is that we do not have the money for assistants.
I don’t know who the guy is, but what I do know is that nobody should be mentioning bargain shopping. It’s hard enough to find a guy who can take you where you want to go (no homo), we shouldn’t pretend like there are several out there. Make your choice, pay him what you have to, then pony up for the staff he needs. Either our coffers are bottomless or we’re out of the big time football game.

We have a good QB and they don’t. That’s very important. We’d lose if we played Mario because our HC and DC are trash and we can’t tackle. Mario won’t 10 games and beat OSU with a non-thrower en route to the Pac12 championship game; after winning 2 titles already. What he’s done is nothing short of amazing because you can’t coach much better around a trash QB; ask Mark Richt. I can’t comment on the QB recruiting, but I gotta say Brown looked better at BC and fooled a lot of people; likely this was the OC’s call.

The coaches okayed the QB's they have, so you can't just shrug that off and say we have a better QB. You wouldn't give Manny the same latitude, nor should you Mario.

Did Mario and company not look like trash tonight? Did they not look like trash two weeks ago? It wasn't just the QB looking poor out there. So why does he get a pass?

Can't tackle, I must've missed the tackling clinic these last two games Oregon demonstrated.

This is a game of what have you done for me now. Not what you did last year. We did better record wise last year with a QB who didn't throw the ball as well as TVD has of late. Our record still is what it is.

Again, you can't pass off the QB to the OC. You are the head coach, have to sign off on it all. Year four, you're stuck with this an an ancient style of play? Sorry, not buying it.

We would smack the **** out of Mario this year. Didn't you just say you can't coach much better around a trash QB.

They did beat OSU. There were outgained and won the turnover battle. It was also the first game for their QB and widely accepted they would get demolished as the season went on. Hang your hat on that though.

Yeah but, Manny has a better win %. Oh, wait lets go more recent. Manny ended year 5-1, Mario ended 4-2. Small sample size. Let's go 2 years Manny 15-8 and Mario 14-6.

Let's fire Manny he is horrible and Let's back up the Brink's truck for Mario.

Just like I felt we should let season play out before passing judgment on Manny. I believe we should be open to other coaching options. Maybe there are other options than Butch and Mario
