Maurice Smith Alabama DB transfer

Got this from over yonder:

HOOVER, Ala. -- There was one notable absence from Alabama's 2016-17 football team media guide, which was released with the start of SEC Media Days, on Monday. And it was a veteran player that has been mulling a transfer.

Alabama senior defensive back Maurice Smith's name was missing from the Crimson Tide's media guide.

Last month, Smith announced he had been granted his release from his scholarship at Alabama and would consider a transfer. And that seems like the likely outcome with his omission from the team's 2016-17 media guide. There has not, however, been anything officially announced concerning Smith's return to the Crimson Tide this fall.

Entering his would-be final season in Tuscaloosa, Smith was poised to be the top candidate to fill the Star role on the UA defense while providing depth at safety and cornerback. Last year, Smith recorded 15 tackles in 15 games.

A member of Alabama's 2013 recruiting class, Smith was the No. 84 overall prospect, No. 9 cornerback and No. 11 player from the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite. He will be immediately eligible to play this fall.

Ol' Nicholas Satan knows the sleeping giant is finally waking up and doesn't want to feed the fire. What a wuss, let the kid play where he wants.

I wonder how Nickpoleon would have felt if Mr. Huizenga tried to stop him from leaving for the Bama job by suing him. Or how would he have felt if LSU stopped him from taking the Dolphins job or if Michigan State stopped him from going to LSU.

Fcking dirty little piece of **** tyrant.

Graduate transfers need to be granted a release? Thats news to me. I just thought he had to pick a major that wasn't offered at Bama? He should just be able to pick a major of either Marine Biology, African Studies, or Dentistry and be on his way.

What a little **** bag

Dude needs to DIAF already

F*cking with a kid's future to make himself feel better about his tiny ******

Good point.

Set to graduate in early August, so possibly he'll be free to go where he pleases once he's actually graduated?

Also the article mentions DB Maurice Smith doesn't graduate until Early August, which is a significant point never mentioned until now. Considering many wondered why he had not enrolled at Miami for summer sessions.

Go Canes

I honestly believe he promised Kirby Smart he would hand deliver him to UGA, and once Mo started to express interest in Miami he quickly plotted to shut it down.
Satan let Burgess-Becker transfer to UCF & Alec Morris to North Texas, so he clearly has some ulterior motive behind blocking Mo Smith.
Kirby won't allow his players to transfer to Miami either, so I seriously think there is something more to this than just being upset a Nickel CB is leaving.
