Manny Navarro on Jaccuri

You guys keep saying this ****. Jaccuri was redshirting this year because they burned his redshirt last year playing him in games like Bethune where he just handed the ball off in the 4th quarter. He wasn't going to burn another year being TVD's backup.

The plan was for him to redshirt this year while TVD had his last year before going to the NFL.

Y'all sleeping on the young man. When he develops, he'll be one of the top QBs. He'll just be on the opposite sideline.

Just look around college football at some of the QBs who have developed. Travis, Penix Jr (My Heisman pick), Nix, Pratt, Daniels, Milroe, Sanders. All weren't that good as freshmen or even sophomores.
The hatred and doubt for the kid is unreal, and quite frankly, unequal.

Somebody like Malzahn would eat heavy with Jacurri.

Look at what Saban did with Milroe this season. Basically told Rees to coach the **** players. It harkens back to a famous exchange he had with Lane Kiffin when they had Barnett in at quarterback and a fumbled happen during garbage time.

Savage writes that Kiffin said into his headset "dumb players make dumb plays," which all the Crimson Tide coaches heard. Saban snapped back with "no, dumb offensive coordinators call dumb plays." There were probably a few expletives left out.

Until I see him in an actual game THIS SEASON, I don't know what he is or isn't. Not with this coaching staff.

Just listened to Navarro discussing Jaccuri and he said the only reason that Miami isn't playing him is because he's transferring and doesn't want to get hurt before entering the portal. Basically that's the only plausible reason that he hasn't played. Actually makes a lot of sense. One place I would not want to see him is FSU. If Norvell did what he did with Travis imagine how good Jaccuri would be.
That’s not the only plausible reason.

Let’s be strategic. Entering 2023 Miami had three scholarship quarterbacks.

1. TVD - starter
2. Jacurri - Eratic passer, needed polish, requested redshirt
3. Emory - true freshman

It made sense to have Emory be the primary backup in the first 8 games of the season and sit Jacurri. Why?

1. Emory needed the most work - but had potential like Jacurri. The early season blowouts would be more beneficial to him than Jacurri, who had previous starting experience.
2. If Jacurri plays instead early and suffers a freak in injury right before the start of ACC play, youre left with Tyler and a QB who has no gametime experience.

I think that the plan all along was to play Jacurri beginning in Game 9 or 10, and rest Emory at that point.

He literally convinced Ny Carr to commit less than a month ago.

Exactly!!! We don't know. It would be nice to see where he's at since both TVD and Emory have played.

At the begging of the year, Dawson said Jaccuri was being held out of the early games to ensure his redshirt and that the plan was to redshirt Jaccuri and Emory. If Jaccuri is transferring, then the staff doesn't believe in him or they do with Emory more because Streeter at Canesville talks to Jacurri and his family. He is not afraid to compete. He knows he needs to develop as a passer and doesn't want to waste a year since he didn't get to redshirt last year.

If they chose one over the other this early in their careers, then that would be foolish. We don't know what either one will develop into. Sure, one could be higher on the depth chart, but that's not choosing one over the other. Basically, saying 1 guy is the future is choosing.

The way people are describing it it’s as if they don’t want him to risk any injury and have it affect his transfer destination.
But who wants him? He hasn’t put a lot of film on to say he has a lot of people wanting him to be the starter on a power five team. I assume after being here and redshirting he’s not gonna want to go compete for a job somewhere when that’s what he can do here.

As far as not wanting to risk injury, he can also get injured in practice.
.
If brown leaves now, he’ll be going to another place where he’s gonna compete for a spot and if he doesn’t make it, he’s stuck. They took this year to develop, not get injured, and a brand new QB competition in spring. If he doesn’t make it, he still has options.
That’s actually pretty smart on his behalf, and pretty fair from the coaching staff.

But in my opinion, the very last thing you want is for Brown to leave and end up a superstar on another team.
Ohio State doesn’t get criticized for Joe Burrow but we would get crucified if Brown ends up being an elite quarterback at another team.

Everything you said is true. However your point about being crucified, OSU doesn’t get criticized because Haskins was killing it, then Firjds balled out, and it was followed up by CJ Shroud. If our QB room looks like that then we’ll be alright. Also Burrow looked average until his final season. He turned into a beast then but OSU qbs were still lighting it up.

First of all, he didn’t say that this is what’s actually going on.
He literally said that he has no inside information and he’s just a reporter and gives his opinion. He said that no one in the program has told him anything about J Browns status with exception that he’s redshirting. He’s also perplexed on why he hasn’t been out on the field at any capacity especially since he can’t burn his redshirt now even if he starts both games.

He said that he believes the most logical explanation on why he hasn’t played appears to be that he doesn’t want to get hurt and go onto the transfer portal.
Similar to what King did.

But just as many insiders are saying that J Brown ain’t leaving.

I’m not trying to defend him, but the way this post started made it seem like he was actually telling everybody the facts about brown when it’s just him guessing just like we all are.
That's completely fair and the only comment on this post. Navarro is a ****, but he was very clear in his statement.

As for why Jacurri isn't playing, its simple: He isn't accurate and he can not read the field (yet). He pulls the trigger when he needs to hold and vice versa.

Dude looks like a specimen in person (pause), just looks like a different type of athlete. The sooner he can accept this the sooner he can get on a track like a logan thomas who has earned 27 mil+ in career earnings..
You're saying he should change positions based on how he looks physically. Interesting.

This is only his 2nd year. Neither you, me, or anyone else knows what he's going to develop into. We don't see practice. He hasn't played in a game this year, but everyone has an opinion based purely on conjecture.

Look around college football. The athletic QBs are developing and leading in passing stats.

If you all think back, Dawson has said once or twice that "you are either accurate or you are not". Mario has also mentioned JB's ability to decipher defenses- how he's made strides. I think both of those things are your answers. They just aren't comfortable where he is , even if he has made improvements. If he gets in a game, everyone on the field expects him to run. Given that we don't use the TE or even the RB to expand the passing game, it could be he just doesn't fit in this offense ...

Throwing him on the field for "packages" that everyone knows will involve him keeping the ball and running, isn't really helping him... It would be different if there was at least the threat of him throwing down the field..

There is 3 games left... you never know

It's simple. If they have faith in jacurri to be an every down qb, would they have played the true freshman with a **** stash, unlikely.

Sure, jacurri may be a transfer or whatever but I'm almost positive that decision was made much after he chose to redshirt per the inside guys on the board.

If I'm coach, I'm going to the qb that beat Texas am and pray he turns it around. Short leash and I yank him if he implodes again.

If TVD throws numerous picks and jacurri doesn't come in, we have our answer on what really happened.

Hey coach I’m not going to play in any games because I’m leaving but you’re cool if I practice with you all right?

The way practices have been run he risks getting hurt just as much as playing in a game. But I am too perplexed on why he hasn’t even played a down. But who knows maybe he has some internal injury/sickness, grades, discipline, etc. I just can’t except that he so bad that he can’t even get a series against Bethune Cookman.

The eyes don't lie Chico...

Last April a certain QB on the Miami Hurricanes could not hit the side of a BIG RED BARN in the Spring Game. Fast forward to August in the open scrimmage to all fans which I attended, same such player who hails from the state of Georgia, again could not hit the side of a BIG RED BARN and unfortunately also could not read a base defense.

As for Navarro, worthless reporting. Brings zero credibility.
