Manny Navarro on Jaccuri

Just listened to Navarro discussing Jaccuri and he said the only reason that Miami isn't playing him is because he's transferring and doesn't want to get hurt before entering the portal. Basically that's the only plausible reason that he hasn't played. Actually makes a lot of sense. One place I would not want to see him is FSU. If Norvell did what he did with Travis imagine how good Jaccuri would be.
You sound like you need one of those special Norvell hugs.

Don’t know if it was mentioned already, but I thought it interesting that manny and the other dude on the show both believe Dawson will be gone, and Dorsey will be the main target.

Not anything sauced, just their entrail reading.

The plan on jacurri was to redshirt and work on improving he wasn't quite ready but coaches love his potential and he was on board to running scout team.personally I'd want to see him get in these last games few have games we have left.
That’s legitimately what has been said since spring 2023. It’s insane how people create and run with false narratives.

Honestly where is J brown going to go? Who is going to want him as a QB right now? Right now, as the roster stands, this is by far his best chance to start at a P5 or top tier G5 school

Anybody who watches the games or goes knows J brown has been the most bought in and excited on the sideline. Sure doesn’t look like a guy teeing up to transfer.

I’m completely bewildered as to why he hasn’t played at all that’s why Navarro’s explanation made sense. It hadn’t crossed my mind that was why he was being held because he’s leaving.

His skill set seems ideal for the strengths of this team- strong offensive line and physical running game. Also as a passer based on what we saw last year it doesn’t seem any worse than Emory. Plus he’d be playing behind a line where the quarterback has forever to throw so he’d be mechanically sound and wouldn’t have to rush his throws like he did last year.

We know Emory is a gamer and maybe he processes well but he’s a horrendous passer of the football. I can’t imagine Jaccuri let alone any D1 quarterback having a game like he did against FSU. I’ve never heard of a quarterback going 8-23 in a game. Not even the old wishbone quarterbacks did that.

I guess Dawson is incapable of making adjustments and sticks with the plan no matter the circumstances. As an aside it was such a contrast to the Michigan Penn State game right before where Michigan completely scrapped their game plan after the first two series when they realized they couldn’t handle Chop Robinson and the penn state pressure on passing plays. Instead they decided to turn the penn state strength into a weakness and brought in the extra lineman and sealed the edges to bust the long runs.

Most well run CFB programs have 4 scholarship QBs on their roster….. especially in this age of constant transferring
So did we…until this year. This is where Florida’s absurd offer to Rashada really hurt us. We would have had four quarterbacks this season if not for that.

I’ve been thinking this was the case for a few weeks now considering he didn’t see a snap even when his red shirt was locked up regardless.

It really is an absolute joke we’re going to let this kid walk away without seeing what he’s got despite our horrific qb play of late. Why not start him this week unless he’s said I don’t want to risk injury/bad tape for the transfer.

If we don’t see him Saturday and he stays it really shows Dawson is not the guy at QB coach/OC

I can't stress enough how much people need to listen to or read things with their own eyes and ears.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, Manny did NOT say this definitively at all.

I can't understand the infatuation with this player. Not sure if you remember just how bad he was at throwing the ball. Just because hes a great athlete, big and can run doesn't make him a great qb. Seems like he was beaten out by the true freshman. I'm ok if he tranfers, anywhere. Weve beated qbs way better than he's shown. I get wanting to see him play when the starter has 11 picks or maybe have some packages for him to run the ball. But if he was ready he would have won the back up job at least.

He did, but the people here swear he was like 2 for 87. They say he can’t complete a forward pass because he smoked a few early passes in the Spring game. Never change CIS. 🤣
Yep. We’d be better of running the Wildcat than letting TVD throw the ball

I don’t get what people are even saying around here sometimes 😂

Would take norvell two losing seasons with Jacurri to be good and by that point he would be canned so send him up there
No he wouldn’t be canned. He’s bought himself a few years with this season of 10+ wins. A QB that can run like JB in the hands of a competent OC, would give anyone fits. Our issue is that we’re trying to make him into an NFL QB and it’s clear he’s not that…. Not now, maybe he’ll never be that guy, but an experienced JB would give college DCs absolute fits.

For all those saying Jacurri can’t throw, even if we assume he hasn’t improved at all in a year and would be throwing behind a line where he’ll have all day to throw (which he didn’t have last year), is he a worse thrower than Emory. The passing percentages certainly don’t reflect that. That Florida state game was the worst passing performance I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched a lot of football.

Also he’s the one quarterback we have that actually does have a strength. He’s a good runner. Having to defend that threat would open things up.

Granted we don’t have the ability to develop quarterbacks like Alabama does but he seems pretty similar to Milroe in a lot of ways.
