Manny believes in the Defense

YPP is an important metric to use, but we’ve still had glaring issues. Eye discipline has been bad ALL season, not just one week. Hearing that he was pleased with the LB play is definitely disheartening.
"Eye discipline" my ***, it's the defensive philosophy that's not discipline. How many plays are we going to see the linebackers engaged with o-linemen, only to have a full back leak out and get behind the backers for good games, what teams know against baker is to just run slow developing plays, because our whole defense committs early to one side of the ball an than toss it back!

Yes, but Shaq & Pinck committed to Miami in the Summer of 2014. So yes, Richt/Diaz may have coached & signed them, but Golden recruited & they stayed true. So technically those were Golden’s players.
Dude, how many guys “committed” to Golden early and then ended up signing with FSU or Alabama or anywhere else? If we’re giving credit for “commits” then AG is the GOAT recruiter.

I'd be interested to see the FPP one. I gave you the TDC one in my post. Or, is it a different one?
FPP sounds similar to “Explosive Drives,” a stat Miami was at the top of the country in going into the Clemson game. I believe an explosive drive is defined as having more than 2 first downs on a drive. Haven’t had an update since Clemson (I think it comes from sport source analytics, which I don’t have a subscription to), but I’ll try to get one through a friend. I recall the national average being around 12%.

it’s really been a tale of 2 seasons: pre-Clemson, and post-Clemson. King finally got back on track last week, and you saw the offense explode. If you tell me king’s completion % of throws that carry 15+ yards in the air, I’ll tell you whether we won the game or not.

I didn’t look at any national stats recently or for the purpose of this post, but they are all skewed and off because some teams have played 8 games, and others have played 1 or 2.
That's what I said in a follow up post. Toledo is 1st and Wisconsin is 2nd. It's easy to look great after 1 game.

Trust me, they aren't pleased. There's a reason they kept giving Corey Flagg more playing time. They were hamstrung last week because Corey Flagg had COVID and Sam Brooks is still playing hurt.
Do you think they'll give TAC or Huff a shot this year? I just don't understand why they aren't at least given a few series to see how they do in live action.

Covid delays set them back. They were basically run and hit guys in high school. Flagg played earlier because he was more prepared as a LB and closer to his ceiling.

There are 19 teams ahead of us that have only played 1-3 games so far for the total defense. And 14 for scoring defense.

Manny Diaz is Al Golden all over again, but he didn't recruit better than Al Golden. He won't win a Championship here, and we'll never win the ACC with him. He's from South Florida, but doesn't get/nor know how to utilize the talent we have here. The fact your Safety leads your team every year tells me that. You don't care about LB recruiting, and you **** sure don't care about CB recruiting. Manny Won with Al Goldens players, and this year you're seeing what Manny recruits can do. He's 6 and 1 because of King/Lashee.

Fire him please along with Patke, Baker, and Rumph.

Get us a real coach. Not one who drops Burns from Northwestern when kid can actually play.

Man he ain't firing Baker, Banda or Patke. No effing way. Now, if I was Stroud or Rumph I'd be concerned.
Rumph would be first on my list.

Idk man there has some been some atrocious play calling with baker. I know fundamentally manny won’t go away from his defensive philosophy but baker is doing a bad job executing manny’s love child.

Patke has good specialists not special teams coaching. He should’ve never been promoted. I’ve yet to see what baker or patke do on the recruiting trail.
