to much evidence that says its not about winning, does it help like if your bama? yes...............but the recruits came first there before the wins as well
You have to remember that yes we won 10 but lost the last three.....and the three losses were all terrible losses!

The kid will have 3 new hats on his table at signing day except Miami hat will get passed over again. See him in the Portal flipping hats again in 2 years.

Bogle seems very confused. If he didn't sign the paperwork to be a Bama player, then where he goes is anyone's guess. Can't blame an 18 year old for not figuring out what they want yet. There are other options for Miami.

Ok but again...what’s your defense of Tennessee or UF?

for us not for anyone else, Florida can get smashed by anybody and still close better then us. We still showed potantial and were the talk of ESPN and still couldnt close so that whole winning thing is not true its not 100% fact. We were talked about people slurped us opposing fans and forums hated us saying everyone loves when Miami is good and we had great publicity on TV, and they still chose other schools. Cmon man its something else.

this is the one thing i disagree with, UF and FSU closed with bad records while we didnt when we won 10 games, that myth needs to stop when we finally have proof thats a lie. We won 10 and didnt close, people said this same line for years and i used to believe it till i saw bad UF teams close and bad FSU teams close and bad UGA teams close. Too much contradictory proof that its not about that IMO.
This isn’t entirely true. We won 10 games but we completely **** the bed at the end of the season. In the end we closed **** well on early signing day, and then having our third loss in a row plus bags was way too much to over come. In the end we signed the best class on paper in over a decade with that ten win season. Can’t even compare it to the 08 class which ranked higher more on the basis in quantity not quality. The 08 class was an elite class through and through.

Khris: "Imma put my heart where it belongs..."

This kid is lost.

If you compare us to teams with similar records over the last 5 years, we have the lowest rated classes. We regularly have lower rated classes than Tennessee and they are like 3 games over .500. USC, Tennessee, FSU, Nebraska all finishes with losing records this year and have top 20 classes. “Win and they’ll come” is the biggest myth in recruitment

So moronic with this “closing” bull****.

Miami won 10 games, and signed the #8 class in the country. They “closed” on the kids to get them to that number, who gives a **** whether they committed in June, July, August or at the 11th hour? Enough of this nonsense about closing. Just get good athletes here and win.

Put the phone down. Posting is for closers.

Not sure what is bull****. If you’re discussing recruiting, it’s because of the future. If you want to point to the past to make an argument about the future, you have to be prepared to honestly assess what happened, and why. There is a difference between causation and correlation. A difference between June and December ... and between December and February. Closing matters when you’re trying to assess where we end up, this year and future years. It informs strategy, also. How much effort do you put into kids who don’t want to sign early? That’s a choice. Resources are not unlimited.

Now Manny is a clean slate, so no judgment from me on that topic.
