Jordan Travis

FSU's total offense ranks 86th in the country while averaging 378 yards per game. They do some things that our defense has trouble with but I dont understand all this talk about how dangerous that offense is in general. They are trash and have nobody on offense that even has a chance at being drafted in the first few rounds.
It’s not about them being good, it’s about how bad we look against everybody. Even those clowns might put up 600yds on us. Or not. There’s really no way to tell. Welcome to the last 20 years.

What a ridiculous series of posts lol

"During his limited time he was doing well until he did the worst thing a QB could do" lol got it, great. The guy is elite because only one of his small number of plays was catastrophic.

Travis is a very good runner but there have been many guys in college football who are just as good. Adding to the other poster's list...DKing (the kid returned a KO for a TD as a freshmen). Tyrod Taylor. Denard Robinson. RG3. A number of Oregon QBs before the Taggart era. A couple of Auburn QBs earlier this decade. ****, the QB we just faced is about as good a runner as Travis.

Not knocking Travis - he's clearly a good runner - but if he were as talented a runner as you say, FSU would be a much better team.
Emory Jones Caleb Williams Malik Cunningham
All those guys are equal level runners
There’s nothing special about this guy
He looks better than he is Bc the team is so trash they rely on broken plays cuz they can’t beat ppl straight up consistently

Running qbs have never been an issue for manny
His krptonite is physical runners who can break tackles and qbs who sit in the pocket and throw drags slants hitches screens in the middle all day long and we never adjust the only defensive play that works over the middle is the dropped pass call

He is as athletic as Lamar Jackson when the pocket collapses. Please name another quarter back outside of Vick and Jackson who are that athletic? If there has been some I apologize but when I watch Travis I see a dude with legit 4.4 speed and legit make people miss ability in space. Starting Qbs aren’t built like that very often

Guess Manolo will have to game plan for two different QB's, which means he will still be blitzing from the parking lot, and leaving the middle wide open :
Has manny ever game planned?
He does the same thing every game
One of the few guarantees in life is **** leave the middle of the field open

Those numbers have some Milton games mixed in there. Especially last week, when they averaged 3.82 YPP, which is as embarrassing as it gets. I don't think they're great on offense, but they're better with Travis than those numbers show, and they're certainly better with him than with Milton, who is absolutely awful.
I thought so too, so I looked at Sims vs Travis. Sims is better in most categories.

In my opinion we are dealing with a team that is slightly worse as an offense and somewhat better on defense.

FSU depth chart from 87'-91':

Danny McManus
Chip Ferguson
Peter Tom Willis
Brad Johnson
Casey Weldon
Charlie Ward
Kenny Felder

Now they're platooning a QB that's supposed to be retired for a more athletic Malik Rosier.

LOL, Jimbo really did a number on that program.

every qb we played looks like Lamar Jackson against our D :
Not all of them. Sims was garbage last week. He couldn't complete anything beyond 5 yards even when he had guys running wide open. The defense has been garbage this year, I get that but that doesn't make Jordan Travis an elite QB. He's a good athlete and a below average QB, nothing more.

FSU’s offense is terrible & Jordan Travis is legitimately one of the worst QB’s in the ACC...

He’s only had ONE game the entire season with more than 15 completions & hasn’t thrown for over 200 yards once the entire season... Let me say that again, he hasn’t had a single game the entire year where he’s thrown for more than 200yds, actually he hasn’t even had a game where he’s thrown for more than 180 yards, that’s how bad he is.

But here’s the kicker, Miami’s Defense is equally just as horrendous as FSU’s offense is & what no one should ever assume (especially if you’ve watched this Defense play at all this season) is that they’re going to come out there & actually perform at an adequate level to where they’ve gained the benefit of the doubt or have earned the confidence of assumption from fans.

Therein lies the problem, Miami’s Defense is susceptible to be had for big plays because our alignments are off & on any given play we’ll have at least half the Defense out of place & clueless as to what their assignment is, then you tack on the fact we continue to trot out players who are as slow as a three-toed sloth that can’t make tackles in the open field & task them with defending the middle of the field, then you get the perfect recipe for a busted play that results in a TD.

Now, does that mean that FSU wins? No it doesn’t /shouldn’t, but the mistake yall cannot make is underestimate how bad our Defense is & yes we pummeled them last year & the year before, but the caveat was we had Rousseau in 2019 take over the game & last year we had Phillips & Roche, this year the DE’s of Johnson, McCloud & Harvey leave a lot to be desired & our overall DL this season is the worst that it’s been since 2016.

No one is saying FSU has Oklahoma’s offensive capability or that Jordan Travis is the second coming of Michael Vick, but the question is can this really bad Defense stem the tide & buck the trend it’s followed the entire season?

Miami should win in a blowout, but it’s not a 100% guarantee that we will. It is entirely possible we have another dogfight close win this game, because if you’ve payed attention to this team all year, that’s literally the tenor of our season. Even in games where our offensive output has been astronomical we’re barely beating the last 3 teams we’ve played.

This game would the perfect time for us to finally beat an opponent by more than 5 points, but it’s just a matter of if it will actually happen, because so far it hasn’t happened once all season vs any non FCS opponent.
