Clearly both Cronkite and Scarlett knew Walton was/is the better rb and that they didn't have a chance at being the main guy at Miami.

Plus his high school coach is his position coach! Even Chocolate cant buy a carry and he was here last year! Big and fast, no time for you! Lol...

man Scarlett is gonna be alright alot of you guys want him to fail because he didn't pick miami, he is better then cronk some guy just adjust to the college game at different times Lenard fournette was looking a little overrated this time last year.

Who thought that of fournette??? Dude balled out, so scarlett was poorly coached in high school?

It took Fournette a few games to adjust... He didn't hit the ground balling. He did struggle. And remember around this time Chubb was behind 3 backs at UGA. Gurley, Sony and Marshall. It's early... And let's be real it's not like Walton is lightening up the stat sheet. He shows great potential but he still needs some time to grow into a complete back. Not everyone is AP, Hershel, Gurley etc. some actually has to adjust. Remember Willis McGahee? Let's see what happens 2 years from now.

That being said, Bruce better evaluate his options carefully. UF is looking like the same team under Muschamp. And to be honest, they are ******** with Harris trying to give Grier all the opportunity in the world to win the job but he isn't that good. Harris is the better and smarter qb.

Yea outside BCU, Walton isn't doing much better rushing wise. They are all young and talented. It takes time. They got the first part done which was to earn sims game reps.

You guys really can't understand why these South Florida kids don't go to Um? Especially when they were committed the whole time. Uh it's called follow the money. The kids dangle their UM commitment to these SEC schools (and Ohio State) and the money comes in. It's a FACT!

This right here.

Lmfao some of you guys are so ******* niave. Yeah because Miami has so much going for it. Competing for all those national title..... **** then those ******** from the SEC schools (and Ohio State) throw money at these S. Fla kids. It's has nothing to do with Bama or OSU actually competing for championships. While Miami can hopefully compete for a coastal championship lol

Funny you mentioned McGahee and development. I read the book Cane Mutiny by Bruce Feldman and it talked about McGahee. Portis broke him down so much that he thought about quiting. He also lost the starting job to Gore in that 2002 year. Great read btw, but yeah it's stupid to call someone a bust in his 1st year. Sometimes players have to get use to the speed of the next level

Mcgahee was good but Gore was a straight stud outa HS....had 500+ yds @ 9 ypc as a frosh behind portis & most certainly woulda started in 2002 had he not torn his acl

Yeaaaah, so you're trying to tell me it's ******* naive to think that the $ec doesn't pay 4 & 5-star S. Florida athletes??? :11263323124_b207743 :stephenahand: * was hit with a one-year bowl ban and additional penalties for violations that started with eight players taking a total of $14,000 in cash…. Players get paid from the time they are recruited until the time they graduate or go to the league.

LOL @ the direction that this thread went in. D$ isn't calling the kid a bust. What he's saying is, if the kid is struggling right now, he may become disgruntled and that may play into Bruce's decision. He wouldn't be the first kid that was second guessing his decision during his freshman year. All we need is for his *** to be unhappy until the first week in February.

Where did I say it's naive to think the SEC doesn't pay players? Every school does it. I said it's naive to think that's why they leave Miami, as if the SEC or any other school didn't pay players they would stay at Miami. Miami sucks *** they don't need money to convince them to leave. Miami hasn't been relevant in the championship scene since 05.

So stop blaming the SEC because Miami lose top S.Fla athletes. Miami is the reason to blame.

Patrick Johnson-Peterson says your premise is flawed. As does any kid that leaves down here for the likes of Arky.

The CIS potatoes have determined Walton's work against Bethune and FAU is enough evidence to declare this battle over.

Scarlett will make this a great bump in a couple years.

He sure will....if this thread turns into another list of UiF RB's that amounted to nothing.

Well, yeah. Any kid who could have come to Miami and didn't is welcome to fail and fail badly. In this kid's case, he became a slimy frigging gator. He is welcome to take up residence at that nearby facility in Stark for all I care. Him and Cronk can be cells mates. They are gators. Not even sure if them flipping from us even matters to me, other than if they were Canes, I would love them.

He was averaging 5 yds a carry at this same date last year. How is that considered a little overrated for a true freshman that early into their career?
