Jeff Thomas

I agree that the play calling was trash but KJ Osborn did fine. Mike Hartley put up better numbers. The TE’s did well. I understand being held back by a bad offense but you should still be the bright spot on a bad offense
That's just last season u speak on not every year he was here though. Last season was the first time our offense could've potentially been competent in a long time. It wasn't because it was ego driven by some tiny megalomaniacs & we got **** line play. However I'll simply say the offense catered to the people he felt for one reason or another he had a personal relationship with. From day one that staff came in it was as this individual you need to spend every given second with these 4 or 5 people no matter your thoughts on them. You need to be with ur nose firmly inserted in EVERY COACHING MEMBERS *** ESPECIALLY HIS. You need to be friends with your coach not just professional. If u don't have a decent chunk of phony in u it was an issue... Cause me if I feel someone is a prick then ****allthatbull**** not only are we not gonna be buddy buddy, I'm gonna tell u I don't ****withu. SIMPLE

I have no insight how NFL teams view an undrafted free agent that was injured for most of camp. That's not the point. The point is the rush to judgement over someone who's obviously struggling to get things together. I have no hard feeling for him just because it didn't work out at UM. Not necessarily you, but judging from some of the posts, some feel gleeful with his situation and that we can use it to our advantage.

Where ever he ends up in life, I hope it works out for him.
I have been following UM for over 40 years and had the pleasure of being around the program rather closely for a decade, Bernie to Gino. I am not one to come here and post negative about any kid, just giving an opinion on the situation I hope Jeff catches on with someone and if not, hope he succeeds in his life’s journey.

Think back to last season. How often was it clear as day PRE SNAP the ball was gonna be forced to either kj or harley? Quite often. QBs were allowed VERY lil wiggle in where the ball was gonna go cause Enos didn't want jarrens eyes going wild and mechanics breaking down. Based on the corner and interior safety he already knew this is who he was gonna throw to exactly. So QBs reads right off rip dictated either primary recievers play was called for or check down that was also called for. No wiggle room in that. Case you didn't realize Jeff was one of people who obviously had no repir5 with staff and hence no plays called for them(feel free to throw WHATEVER other names you'd like to into that since it's me clarifying that.

Jeff Thomas might be one of my least favorite Canes. Whined his whole career and flashed on the field but never lived up to the hype.

Is he going to block and throw it to himself? If he would have chosen OSU over Miami, he would been at least a 2nd round player. He would have lit the Big Fat 10 up. Where are Richt, Richt, and his 2019 OC now? Who was developed by his last two WR coaches?

No one forced him to come back.

Yeah our offense did not help this kid. Sucks to see players livelihood are intertwined with each other and vice versa. Coaches gotta put players in position to make plays and players must execute for coaches to look like geniuses. We have not done that with our players. We have had top 15 talent that most of the big names wanted and did nothing with them. Doing less with more

He’s no doubt more musclebound, but that comes from attitude as much as it does from genes. You have to work to get that way. You think Jeff Thomas has ever worked as hard as Steve Smith?

Jeff Thomas could be a lot bigger muscle-wise, if he wanted to be. I just compared them because they are somewhat similar, size wise. But more importantly, because of the attitude issue. There’s a lot of guys that have muscles, but Steve Smith is a ****ed off warrior, something that Jeff Thomas could’ve learned to be. That’s more the reason why I compared them.
Steve Smith is what happens when a football player has a Napoleon complex.

Well obviously KJ and Harley blocked and threw to themselves.

I’ve been defending Jeff Thomas the person in this thread, not necessarily Jeff Thomas the football player, so if you think he would’ve succeeded anywhere else enough to be a second round choice, I think you’re delusional - his mindset would not have allowed him to do that.

Honestly you’re overestimating his talent as well. If he can’t make a Patriots team, even with injuries, with about five journeymen jamoke‘s above him, a team that needs wide receivers, how’s he going have all this other success. He has talent, but not enough to overcome his attitude and propensity for quitting and self destruction. I hope he succeeds, and I hope I’m proven wrong, but there’s a lot more going on there

That's completely insane to say that. You think Jeff is the first kid like him to play college ball? People like Jeff NEED TO BE SURROUNDED BY OTHER STRONG ALPHA PERSONALITIES. He came here and y'all have no clue. I MEAN ZERO CLUE how dysfunctional, if not flat out broken we been for a minute now. Ask ahhmon what happened to him. Ask kj what he came into from a small controlled environment. It's one thing after another. ZERO QUESTION you surround Jeff with strong coaches and personalities Jeff is a first round talent. Zero question to that. The question is now is he too far gone to live off his talent alone because his attitude and the fact everyone knows **** quit if he's really challenged has everyone on some nah I'm good ****

I don’t agree. He has time to turn things around if he wants to. He either has the talent or he doesn’t.
