Jeff Thomas

I agree except our QB play has been atrocious lmao
For over 15 years our delusional fan base thinks we will roll every team and every year we fall flat on our faces. We aren’t better than other teams in ACC because we keep losing to those teams. Actions speak louder than words and we have been all talk. Will that change- god I hope so but until I see it in action- Stop acting like gayturds and seminholes.

Jeff … <sigh> … could’ve been a great player for Miami and still not be a 5-10 year NFL talent.

1. He’s quick, but not that quick. He just really wasn’t that fast. Note: Sheldrick Redwine ran faster at the Combine. 25 lbs heavier. It’s something I privately questioned to myself as people raged about his speed — misconstruing speed with quickness. He’s not DeSean Jackson and never was.
2. He’s small. There was a debate about his rare size in the NFL a few weeks ago on CIS …
3. His troubles. I was afraid for Jeff the moment I watched “88 blocks”. He’s more given to self-sabotage than team sabotage (the “cancer” comments are unwarranted, imo) — he needed the right environment and Miami wasn’t it. And that pains me to say. No one needs one year of Felder, Jeff had two. He needed a locker room with a culture where kids are to be developed — physically and mentally; he needed a locker room where he learned to respect education and structure and being prepared beyond a life of sweat. He didn’t have that. How do we know? Because so many unprepared Canes would not be leaving early if it were (Bandy is more of a cautionary tale — and illustrative of this point — than Jeff).

You can blame the coaches but I really think Richt and Diaz truly wanted to help Jeff, they just weren’t equipped and didn’t have enough of a culture change in place to benefit a Jeff-like player (which is a huge undertaking for any program). I‘m glad he was picked up by the Dolphins but I sure wish it had been a Pittsburgh or a Tennessee or a Buffalo. I really wished NE had a spot for him.

I’m crossing my fingers for Jeff.

edit: it appears the Dolphins picking him up is false.

Good....Kid has talent...I realize he should've stayed another yr...but the kid made LSUs DBs look Silly...and 2 were 1st round picks...I will never forget the UA Game...he ran away with the MVP...and made every 4 and 5* kid look mundane the entire week....
Thomas made the right call coming out. What’s gonna happen if he stays? He’d be suspended or in trouble for sure. Some kids aren’t cut out for college. He’s definitely one of them.

This is a good post! I think Brian Flores may be the mentor he’s always needed.

So you should never try to better yourself or fix character flaws? Do you think his life would be better or worse in E. St. Louis?

*He single handily beat VT 2yrs in a row..
* He was the only WR that did **** vs LSU....
* His catch against FSU (between 2 defenders) enabled us to continue drive and eventual Win vs FSU...
* Fumbled a Punt vs UF...Yeah...everyone makes mistakes...even the Great Bennie Blades fumbled a Punt in a HUGE game...
Stop the hating...Kid would've thrived with the WR coach we have now..and the system....I hope nothing but the Best for ANY Cane...Anyone who doesn't, isn't really a Fan...

He was one of the four players cut by the Pats yesterday, a team in desperate need of receivers. While he was a little banged up he did get time on the field and underperformed which led to him being cut. The good thing about being cut early is someone may pick you up, the bad thing is you couldn’t beat out Andre Baccellia, Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, Gunner Olszewski, Devin Ross, and Isaiah Zuber. After Sanu got the ax I thought Jeff had a shot but when they went from 77 to 73 it’s not a good sign when you’re one of the first four to go. Wish him well his body of work doesn’t appear to be league worthy. Had a few highlights at UM but his overall performance was spotty at best.

The chiefs would’ve been another good spot I think. Andy Reid, Patty MaHomes, Eric Bienemy, and others would’ve been a good landing spot.

Any CANE fan saying otherwise is butt hurt. His “get off” is next level. LSU, UF, VT, and FSU all have 1st rounders or projected 1st rounders that the kid roasted. We just couldn’t get him the rock.

He has to master his behaviors. He should have stayed. Cost himself bigtime. It’s all mental now.

With that said - JT had no reason to believe Miami would get its **** together on offense. It has been a complete **** show. But - if he would have... he would have destroyed the ACC under Lashee/Likens.

WR is the easiest position to transition from high school to college. Seems to me, people are still holding onto a high school All-American game with this young man. Does he have talent, sure, but you've gotta work on that talent to make an NFL roster. Maybe he will and has been, but he's had red flags since high school, so all this blaming his WR / OC / QB crap is lame as ****. AR had a lot of those same issues and still balled out until he couldn't anymore. Why JT has excuse after excuse made for him is probably why he has been his worst enemy at times. Talent will only get you so far in anything and it's on you to elevate your game and be the man consistently.
