Jeff Thomas

Risk of injury staying vs. risk of getting cut
Chance of big money now vs. wait and see

Unless the guaranteed money is greater than long term value of a degree, just seems smarter to stay the final year. At least, the fall back of a major injury senior year is having that degree, and I would assume a job offer of some type so that you can provide from yourself/family. Obviously this isn't in their mindset, but their should be a better evaluation analysis presented to players.

Not sure why there is no fall back option and why a player can't attempt professional opportunities (without receiving money - perhaps a sponsorship by the university) and be allowed to come back to college if they don't make a team.

Hopefully this could be proof/lesson to those who think about leaving too early in the future...Bandy/JT are no surprise and only players who should think about leaving after this season is Cam and Brevin

James pierre was undrafted and made the team from FAU same position. Yall betta stop looking at these teams and saying we gone destroy them because of the U on the helmet.
Playing devil’s advocate group of 5 schools will always have good skilled players. The biggest difference between them and P5 schools imo are in the trenches and QB play.

Here’s the answer to your question. Transplant Deejay Dallas‘ brain into Jeff Thomas‘ head, and we have an NFL starting receiver.

Look at Steve Smith. Similar size. Similar body type. The attitude of a cobra
Have you seen Steve Smith play?!

He has 20lbs of muscle on Jeff Thomas. The only thing they have in common is their height.

hasn't the "degree" argument been mitigated by the fact that all players are welcome to return to get their degree free of charge? also, no way Thomas and many others are degree seeking individuals.

Hate to say this but could be a blessing in disguise. IF i was Manny i would have a clear list of these guys who left early and did **** and make **** sure every kid and their parents saw it 100x

He’s no doubt more musclebound, but that comes from attitude as much as it does from genes. You have to work to get that way. You think Jeff Thomas has ever worked as hard as Steve Smith?

Jeff Thomas could be a lot bigger muscle-wise, if he wanted to be. I just compared them because they are somewhat similar, size wise. But more importantly, because of the attitude issue. There’s a lot of guys that have muscles, but Steve Smith is a ****ed off warrior, something that Jeff Thomas could’ve learned to be. That’s more the reason why I compared them.
