Jake Garcia in spring

NOTHING wrong with "Playing through struggles" whatsoever....
Sure...but the point is in TVD’s case there was no other option at the time. He benefited from that scenario. Good on him for coming out the other side a better player. But things may have played out differently with a healthy Garcia.

Pretty sure Garcia would have gone in when TVD suffered those slow starts. They really had no other option so TVD was allowed to play through his struggles. Who knows what would have happened if Garcia would have gone in and sparked the offense?
Totally agree it also shows sometimes you have to let a guy work through his issues to see what you really have.

Not a knock on TVD. But sometimes you need some breaks so things work out for you despite your talent. Having Matocha breathing down your neck is not the same as Garcia. You can relax a bit and coaches can be more patient with you.

It does seem like Lashlee was impacting TVDs performance early on. Once they had their “meeting”, discussed how TVD felt about the play calling and subsequently opened up the passing game, he came on like gang busters. Garcia will need live game reps to be able to begin to catch up with TVD.
