Ivins Update On Staff Changes

I mean he did say he hasnt heard anything on coaches that lashlee may have reached out to and they were names he was just mentioning
I get that. But he might as well mention every coach he’s been on a staff with if that’s all he’s doing. By mentioning Craig specifically he’s putting that name in his imbecile subscribers’ heads as if there’s even a remote possibility it’ll happen. 0.0% chance. Might as well mention Malzahn too.

Manny is done and he knows it.

I guess Mr Analytic can’t do research on quality assistants. Yea let’s just Lashlee bring in everyone. Enos did the same ****. Also really disappointing the defensive staff stays intact. We have 3 LB coaches and 2 DB coaches all of which can’t recruit.

What is wrong with letting your OC who runs a specific type of offense get guys he knows can run his system? And do you include Lashlee as a quality assistant?

Dameyune Craig is Jumbo's guy, he's never leaving Jumbo to come coach for Manny who's on the hot seat.

Craig was with Jumbo at LSU as a GA when he was Saban's OC & coached at FSU with him.

He didn't coach at Auburn because of Lashlee, he coached at Auburn because that's his alma mater, he's from Alabama & he played QB there. They always keep connecting Lash to Craig as if Lash found him & brought him to Auburn lol.

Tim Horton would not be a good hire IMO, he's been a RB's coach most of his career, he did coach WR's at Air Force (where have I heard that before? 🤔 Lol), but he's not a dynamic recruiter. He recruited at Auburn because AU is a big bag dropping school, but without Auburn bags he's a fairly average RB's coach.

At WR's coach we need a RECRUITER that will land us some high caliber WR's both locally & OOS, no more technician poindexters that can't sell. We got lucky that Miami had the engineering program that Redding wanted for his major & that FSU didn't, but next year we won't be so lucky... Keep Stubbsy at your own risk if you want to, but we're going to be fcked on the trail if we bring him back.

Rubenstein article:

The official announcement of Rhett Lashlee as the new offensive coordinator with the Miami football program has the majority of the Hurricanes fanbase excited about at least the future of the offense. Andrew Ivins of Inside the U reported on Saturday that Lashlee is expected to bring two SMU staffers with him.

The two staffers from SMU that are expected to join Lashlee in Coral Gables are former Mustangs off offensive quality control analyst Jonathan Brewer and former SMU offensive graduate assistant Kyle Cooper. A pair of Dan Enos hires in Miami are reportedly on the hot seat in Coral Gables.

Offensive line coach Butch Barry and wide receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield
previously were assistant coaches under Enos at Central Michigan. Their past under Hurricanes’ former offensive coordinator has Stubblefield and Barry firmly on the hot seat in Coral Gables.

Tight end coach Stephen Field and running backs Eric Hickson who were hired by Diaz are expected to be retained with the Miami football program. Brewer worked with Lashee previously at Connecticut as the offensive quality control analyst/special projects for quarterbacks. Brewer also worked with WRs at Auburn in 2016.

Brewer was the interim offensive line coach at SMU in 2018 per Ivins and worked with the Tigers upfront from 2013-15 under JB Grimes per his SMU profile. Barry would seem to be the coach who should be the most concerned with Brewer having a strong background coaching offensive linemen.

The future for Stubbfield is not expected to be impacted by the addition of Cooper to the Miami football staff. Before working with Lashlee, Cooper’s coaching experience was primarily on defense. The former Division III linebacker at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh was an offensive assistant under Lashlee at UConn and SMU.

Cooper has also been a graduate assistant coach for two years at Westminster College in Pennsylvania. WIth Cooper helping to coach the Westminster defense, they finished 15th nationally in Division III in sacks. Cooper’s switch to offense and primarily the offensive will hopefully help the ailing Miami offensive line.

If either of those quality control assistants are given position coach jobs, we’re more screwed than we even thought.

Also on the defense. Our D wasn’t great, but they were top 25 in the country still. Think about how many more games we win with an offense not running in circles with our defense

Don't know....I do know that defense gave up the lead in the fouth quarter FOUR times.
They also let a bad fiu team score 30 on them.
The defense has plenty of issues but this c0cksucker of a head coach wont address them.
He rather tell you about stats that mean **** when you look at our schedule.
He wont fire his friends.

Defensively, Diaz needs to take over play calling. And recruiting could be better.

But it feels like there’s one too many coaches on that side bc Diaz is a defense guy.

We have to coordinators, and Diaz has to call plays?

I’d cut Baker, leave Banda as co-DC, and hire another guy on offense or a dedicated STC/recruiting coordinator.

Yup he wants his yes men and doesn't want to be told something's wrong.....or his evals are bad or we should recruit this guy. Typical dictator egotistical dude. Worst traits to have as a HC
We have a staph infection. They all have cantrecruitaritis and it’s sad because it’s curable

That's an indictment alone... But he's compromised, because you can't tell me an objective individual looks at our performance with that dynamic on defense and gives it the thumbs up. Diaz and his band of brothers need to go.

Craig was coached by jimbo at Auburn, no chance he leaves.

Anyway, is 10 wins in the ACC Coastal really a successful season. Especially is it's like the 2017 season, with a whole bunch of unimpressive wins (ND game aside) and 3 ugly losses?

If these defensive players are not developing it doesn’t matter how many wins and points you score top talent on that side of the ball aint coming
